Por ello, este proyecto va dirigido a las nuevas tecnologías en Educación Infantil, más concretamente a la utilización de los ordenadores en las aulas. English vocabulary acquisition through storytelling
Get PDFEste estudio examina los efectos producidos en la adquisición de vocabulario en doce niños de educación primaria, proporcionándoles métodos diferentes; una presentación de la historia y una interacción y modelado de la misma, durante una sesión de cuentacuentos. Aleatoriamente, los niños fueron asignados en dos grupos: uno de presentación y otro interactivo. Cinco palabras fueron escogidas y varios tests se aplicaron para determinar la posible adquisición de vocabulario por su parte. Los resultados mostraron diferencias relevantes. El grupo de interacción adquirió el vocabulario, al contrario que el otro. Finalmente, se discute la importancia de estos hallazgos para la implicación pedagógica.The present study examines the effects on vocabulary acquisition through providing children two different approaches; story presentation and language modelling, during a storytelling session. The method was implemented with twelve primary school children. They were randomly assigned to two groups: I) Presentation-group and II) Interactive-group. Five target words were selected and some tests were administered to establish possible gains in participants’ vocabulary acquisition. Results showed relevant differences between the two methods used. The Interactive-group showed considerable gains in the knowledge of the target lexis, unlike the other group. Finally, the importance of these findings for pedagogical implication is discussed

Europa se está quedando sin profesionales formados en entorno STEM. Se ha producido un retroceso en las matriculaciones en los Grados de Ingeniería. En las universidades cada vez se matriculan menos alumnado en Ingeniería. La Tecnología Industrial es una asignatura que puede despertar este tipo de vocaciones entre nuestro alumnado.With the latest educational reform the subjects of technology, specifically that of the Industrial Technology, suffered a very important set back to its curriculum. Para poder prevenirlas es fundamental que los jóvenes, entre los que se encuentran los estudiantes de formación profesional, tengan unos conocimientos adecuados de alimentación. En el presente estudio se han valorado los conocimientos nutricionales de un grupo de estudiantes de formación profesional de Antequera, detectando un nivel intermedio de conocimientos, así como una diferencia significativa entre la puntuación obtenida por el alumnado de ciclos formativos que cursan materias relacionadas con la nutrición y el alumnado de ciclos formativos que no cursan dichas materias, obteniendo éstos últimos peores resultados.Youth is a stage especially vulnerable to the appearance of nutritional alterations. In order to prevent their emergence, it is essential that young people, including vocational training students, have adequate knowledge of nutrition. In the present study, the nutritional knowledge of a group of students of professional training of Antequera has been assessed, detecting an intermediate level of knowledge, as well as a significant difference between the score obtained by the students of training courses that study subjects related to the nutrition and the students of training courses that do not attend these subjects, obtaining these last worse results
Immigration and academic performance
Get PDFCon el presente artículo se pretende analizar el binomio inmigración-educación, así como los efectos de este hecho en el actual sistema educativo y las actitudes que se tienen en cuanto a este colectivo. Se puede destacar que la inmigración no baja los resultados académicos de la población autóctona sino que, estadísticamente, baja la media total pudiéndose así afirmar que el binomio inmigración-educación no es un binomio problemático. No obstante, hay una serie de factores influyentes en el rendimiento escolar del alumno inmigrante como consecuencia de la concentración de estos en diversas instituciones educativas.With this article, we intend to analyze the binomial immigration-education, as well as the effects of this fact in the current educational system and the attitudes that have in this collective. It is possible to emphasize that the immigration does not lower the academic results of the autochthonous population but, statistically, it lowers the total average being able to affirm that the binomial immigration-education is not a problematic binomial. However, there are a number of factors influencing the school performance of the immigrant student as a result of the concentration of these in various educational institutions

Ankylosing Spondylitis: Clinical and Radiological review
Get PDFEl objetivo de este estudio es demostrar las características clínicas y terapéuticas de la Espondilitis Anquilosante en 72 pacientes de la consulta de Reumatología del HUAV de Lleida. El sexo masculino y el hábito tabáquico son factores de mal pronóstico en la progresión de la enfermedad. La terapia biológica es una alternativa para aquellos pacientes refractarios al tratamiento antiinflamatorio. Las herramientas utilizadas para medir la actividad de la enfermedad permiten mejor control de la misma.The aim of this study is to describe a series of patients with Ankylosing Spondylitis. The clinical and therapeutic features of the Ankylosing Spondylitis are shown in 72 patients of the rheumatology service of the LLeida HUAV. Male sex and smoking are both poor prognosis factors in the progression of the disease. Biological therapy is an alternative for those patients who are resistant to anti-inflammatory treatment.
