      Este estudio examino cómo la reformulación del coro de la tragedia griega en la obra teatral Las canciones de Pablo Messiez promueve la vulnerabilidad física tanto de los intérpretes como de los espectadores influyendo así en la recepción de la obra. En esta puesta en escena, la continua interacción con el público durante la representación establece un vínculo afectivo que rompe la cuarta pared, siendo la participación del espectador esencial para el éxito del elemento coral en la obra. La danza colectiva que se produce en el edificio teatral representa la culminación de un horizonte de expectativas que, por un lado, depende de la participación activa de los espectadores y, por otro, crea una tensión entre la agencia de los mismos y la aparición de un sentido comunitario en el teatro

    El presente artículo examina las dramaturgias de la escucha en la obra escénica Okana. Ritual afroRadiactivo (2019) de Osikán. Vivero de Creación (2014), bajo la dirección artística del creador escénico y babalocha santiaguero José Ramón Hernández Suárez. Esta obra-ceremoia contiene un giro hacia la escucha en las dramaturgias de Osikán. Para ello veremos cómo la dramaturgia de la pieza se compone a partir de tres principios compositivos claves conectados con la escucha: las imágenes y las presencias acústicas, por un lado, y el ritmo sonoro, por otro. Estos principios compositivos en Okana… instauran una “escucha vital”, concepto proveniente de la pensadora y psicoanalista brasileña Suely Rolnik que abordaremos en el apartado final

    Estimating occupancy of focal bee species

    Current bee monitoring efforts have a limited capacity for understanding factors affecting wild bee population changes, including the effects of management. To improve the effectiveness of wild bee monitoring, we first discuss principles of biological monitoring and provide a framework to design monitoring projects to estimate species occupancy, where occupancy is defined as the probability that a Sampling Unit or site is occupied by the focal species. Monitoring practitioners should first define the desired goal or question of monitoring and secondly select the appropriate state variable for monitoring (e.g., species richness, occupancy, abundance). These represent two critical, yet often overlooked, steps in the development of wild bee monitoring projects. As with all forms of demographic monitoring, practitioners who are interested in estimating species occupancy will need to develop a sampling scheme tailored to meet their monitoring objectives. Defining key sampling terms will provide the architecture of their scheme, including the Area of Interest, Sampling Unit, Season, and Replicate Survey. We also highlight data standards, including core data fields that must be collected during Surveys for bee occupancy data and additional, recommended data fields. We illustrate how these monitoring concepts are being applied to the design of a real-world monitoring project for the federally endangered rusty patched bumble bee (Bombus affinis Cresson). This framework was developed in association with the U.S. National Native Bee Monitoring Network.

    Who does this benefit? A consideration of demographics in the access and impact of retirement from college sport programming

    Sport retirement can reveal a host of difficulties for college athletes including minimal career preparation, mental health struggles, and identity foreclosure. While college athletes almost always note the challenges of leaving their sport behind, these challenges can be mitigated through transition programming. However, what types of programming are more useful, and for whom, is understudied. Through a mixed method survey, this study explored differences in access and impact of retirement from sport programming based on athletes’ (n = 707) demographic differences (e.g., race, division), through the lens of Goodman and colleagues’ (2006) three phases of transition. Findings revealed that Black athletes and those from working class backgrounds found programs to be more impactful than other demographic groups, supporting the argument for personalized retirement support. Additionally, Division II athletes not only had the greatest access to retirement programming, but also found programming to have more impact than other divisions. However, athletes noted that more programs are needed for every division.&nbsp

    Morphological variation is the result of interplay among multiple intervening factors. Appendicular bonemorphology in reptiles has been addressed rarely in the literature and, to our knowledge, the girdles of turtles havenever been utilized to address developmental questions of form asymmetry. We quantified left-right symmetry of thecoracoids in 42 (10 male and 32 female) Pondsliders, Trachemys scripta (Schoepff 1792), an exotic emydid in Spain. Wemeasured form symmetry between the right and left coracoids using geometric morphometric techniques by means of14 paired landmarks and 66 paired semi-landmarks. Both sexes exhibited fluctuating asymmetry (FA: small and randomdeviations in the symmetry, but with a variation normally distributed around a zero mean) and directional asymmetry(DA: a greater development on one side, with most asymmetry in the same direction). DA has been describedas a product of genotype as well as functional lateralization. The most probable explanation for the detected DA is thatit results from a functional imbalance due to limb lateralization, which results from an unequal pull of paired muscleson bones. Low levels of FA, apparently the result of subclinical metabolic osteopathies (presumably attributable toimproper diets of most of the animals examined, as they had been kept as pets), are excluded

    K+K− photoproduction in ultra-peripheral Pb–Pb collisions

    In ultra-peripheral collisions (UPCs) of relativistic heavy ions, photoproduction occurs when a photon emitted from one nucleus interacts with the other nucleus from the opposing beam, producing particles in the final state. Measurements of KK photoproduction probe interactions and couplings between the phi (1020) and charged kaons with photons and nuclear targets. We report the exclusive KK photoproduction cross section at midrapidity in Pb–Pb collisions at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of 5.02 TeV, which is measured for the first time in UPCs

    Inclusive and Diffractive Dijet Photoproduction in Ultraperipheral Pb-Pb Collisions at the LHC

    In this contribution, we summarize NLO pQCD predictions for inclusive and diffractive dijet photoproduction in Pb-Pb UPCs at the LHC. We demonstrate that the theory describes well the preliminary ATLAS data on the inclusive cross section, which probes nuclear parton distributions (PDFs) down to x_A ~ 0.005 and which can reduce current uncertainties of the small-x nuclear gluon distribution by approximately a factor of 2. Employing predictions of the leading twist approach to nuclear shadowing for nuclear diffractive PDFs, we calculate the cross section of  diffractive dijet photoproduction and show that its x_gamma} dependence is sensitive to the effect of nuclear shadowing and the mechanism of QCD factorization breaking in hard diffraction. We also find that due to large leading twist nuclear shadowing and restricted kinematics, the diffractive contribution to the inclusive cross section of dijet photoproduction does not exceed 5-10%, which helps with an ambiguous interpretation of the ATLAS data

    Axion Physics in UPC and LbyL Scattering

    In this work, we revisited the light-by-light scattering physics in ultraperipheral collisions. Furthermore,  an  extension model  with axion-like particles is also studied. We used MadGraph5\_aMC@NLO+gamma-UPC event generator for our analysis and the proposed kinematic cuts  for the ALICE 3 experiment were considered. Different distribution functions for both light-by-light and axion-like particles are analyzed and we find that the transverse momentum is a good channel to observe the production of axions in ultraperipheral collisions

    Azimuthal angular correlations in lepton pair production in ultra-peripheral heavy ion collisions

    The coherent photons induced by relativistic heavy ions are highly linearly polarized, in close analogy to the linear polarization of gluons in a large nucleus.  We proposed to measure the photon polarization through azimuthal asymmetries in dilepton production in ultra-peripheral collisions. Our prediction for the asymmetries were soon confirmed by the STAR experiment with high precision. We refined our analysis recently by including the final state soft photon radiation effect beyond the double leading logarithm approximation.  The azimuthal asymmetries and acoplanarity at relatively high transverse momentum provide unique opportunities to test the resummation formalism thanks to the extremely high photon flux in UPCs.  Our results clearly show the feasibility to access the sub-leading resummation effects in UPCs at the RHIC and LHC
