The Influence of Kind of Hormone to Level of Sheep Oocytes Matured in Vitro
The objectives of the research were to know the effect of various hormone on in vitro maturation ovine oocyte. The result was expected to give information about the effect of various hormone on in vitro maturation ovine oocyte. The result of research show that treatment no significant (P>0.05) influenced on germinal vesicle (GV), germinal vesicle breakdown (GVBD) and metaphase-I (M-I) phase. The treatment P3 (CR1aa+FSH+ Estradiol+hCG) significant (P<0.05) increased maturation rate then P1 (CR1aa+FSH) dan P2 (CR1aa+FSH+ Estradiol). Behavioural Study of Timor Deer (Cervus timorensis) in PT Kuala Tembaga, Aertembaga Village, Bitung-North Sulawesi
The objective of this study was to observe the daily behavior of Timor deer (Cervus timorensis). The study was conducted in Aertembaga village, Bitung-North Sulawesi for 30 days. Deer were kept out in the conventional coconut plantations under extensive care system. Seven Timor deers were used in this study. The daily behavior were observed for their activities; as grazing, ruminating, lying, urinating, defecating, vocalizing, working and other activities. A time sampling method was used to record the behavior activities and observations were repeated in five time. The respective percentage of daily activities of Timor deer for grazing, ruminating, lying, working, standing,  defecating, urinating, approaching and other activities were 31.17; 14.63; 13.54; 6.23; 7.55; 8.51; 3.96; 7.915 and 6.48%. The Potency of Pineapple Waste to Increase the Quality of Tuna Fish Waste for Poultry Feedstuffs
The objective of this research was to study the effect of bromelyn enzyme from pineapple waste on the quality of tuna fish waste.  The information generated from this research used to increase the utilization of tuna fish waste for poultry feedstuff. This research was conducted experimentally using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) and Least Significant Difference (LSD).  The treatments were P1 (head of tuna fish +12.5% bromelyn from pineapple steak); P2 (head of tuna fish +12.5% bromelyn from pineapple peel); P3 (head of tuna fish +12.5% bromelyn from pineapple middle); P4 (digestive tracts of tuna fish +12.5% bromelyn from pineapple steak); P5 (digestive tracts of tuna fish +12.5% bromelyn from pineapple peel); P6 (digestive tracts of tuna fish +12.5% bromelyn from pineapple middle). These treatments were replicated three times. The results showed that true protein content of tuna fish waste was affected by bromelyn treatments.   The average of true protein content was 12.06; 14.80; 19.74; 17.32; 17.34; and 16.61 mg/g, for P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, and P6 respectively. The results showed true protein was highly significant (P<0.01).  The true protein content of tuna fish waste head added with bromelyn from pineapple middle was highest compare to the other treatments.  Amino acids were twelve the all treatments tested. Dairy Farm Household`s Economy: Case Study at Pandesari, Pujon, Malang
The objective of this research was to analyze household’s economy of dairy farms. The study was conducted at Pandesari Village, Pujon District, Malang Regency, East Java Province on August 2004. One hundred twenty five farm households were chosen as respondents using a stratified purposive sampling technique. Data was  analyzed by using descriptive method. The results showed that the absorbtion of family labor in dairy farmer on the first second and third scales were 226.77, 134.52 and 68.69 JKSP/UT/year, respectively. The contribution of the dairy income of the first, second and third scales were 53.70%, 68.38% and 86,81%, respectively. The contribution of expenditure for food on the first second and third scales were 41.18%, 36.18% and 30.18%, respectively. In conclusion dairy farms were be able to absorb family labor, as the main source of household`s income and increased the life standar of farmers. Effect of Protected Kapok Seed Oil Supplementation on In Vitro Ruminal Lipid Status
This investigation was conducted to study the influence of protected kapok seed oil (KSO) supplementation on ruminal lipid status. Kapok seed oil (KSO), field grass (FG), Javanese Thin Tailed Sheep (JTTS) sheep rumen fluid, were used as experimental material. There were two treatment factors, namely : KSO supplementation as factor I, and KSO protection (throughout formation of Ca- salt after lipolysis by KOH) as factor II. Factor I consist of 4 supplementation levels, namely : 0% (S0); 5% (S1); 10% (S2), and 15% (S3), respectively, wheareas factor II consist of 5 protection levels, namely : 0% (P0); 25% (P1); 50% (P2); 75% (P3), and 100% (P4), repectivelly. Amount of 15 treatment combination were formed with control, namely without KSO supplementation and without protection (S0P0). The measured variables included : relative proportion of volatile fatty acids (VFAs), i.e. : acetic acid, propionic acid, and butyric acid. In addition, the iodine number (IN) and relative proportion of long chain fatty acid (LCFA), i.e. : stearic acid and linoleic acid )omega 6 polyunsaturated fatty acid) were also measured. Collected data were analyzed statistically by analysis of variance with factorial treatment pattern in completely randomized design. The result of this investigation showed that supplementation 10% or upper KSO without protection decreased asetis acid/propionic (A/P) ratio. Ratio of A/P tend increased again with protected KSO supplementation, but on 10 and 15% supplementation levels still lower than control (1.47–2.99 vs 3.36). Protected KSO supplementation increased the relative proportion of linoleic acid and unsaturation rate of ruminal fatty acid (P<0,05) with the higher iodine number, a long with enhancing of supplementation level. Relative proportion of linoleic acid and iodine number (IN) in S1P0, S2P0, S2P3, S2P4 and S3P4 treatment groups were : 17,65 and 10,32; 33,07% and 18,67; 42,29% and 41,95; 45,01% and 47,40; 45,17and 50,99%, respectively. The Application of Synchronization Methods Using Prostaglandin F 2ï¡,by Intra Vaginal Sponges (IVS) and Intra Muscular (IM) to Improve Reproductive Performance of Thintailed Ewe Lambs
The purpose of the experiment was to investigate the effect of different administration method of PGF2a, i.e. intra vaginal sponges (IVS) and intra muscular (IM) on the onset and the duration of estrus, and Non-return Rate (NR) in thin tailed ewe lambs. A total of 20 thin tailed ewe lambs, aged 12-15 months, were at random assigned to one of four treatment groups in Completely Randomized Designed (CRD) : Animals in Treatment group I (P1) received PGF2a of 5 mg/ml/head intramuscularly ; Treatment group II (P2) received PGF2a of 5 mg/ml/head by intra vaginal sponges for twodays;Treatment groupIII(P3) received PGF2a of 5 mg/ml/head by intra vaginal sponges for four days; Treatment group IV (P4) received PGF2a of 5 mg/ml/head by intra vaginal sponges for six days. Two rams, aged 2-2.5 years used as a mated. Each treatment was repeated five times. Variables measured were onset and duration of estrus, and Non-return Rate (NR) in 30 days. Collected data were analyzed using analysis of variance followed by Post-hoc of Least Significant Difference (LSD). Average values of onset of estrus for P1, P2, P3 and P4 were 22.91, 23.16, 26.31 and 44.57 hours, respectively. Average values of duration of estrus for P1, P2, P3 and P4 were 26.36, 48.36, 94.65 and 146.56 hours, respectively. Analysis of variance indicated that the administration method of PGF2a affected significantly (P<0.01) on the onset and the duration of estrus. Non-return Rate (NR) in 30 days for P1, P2, P3 and P4 was 100,100, 20 and 20 percent, respectively. In conclusion, the application of estrous induction methods using Prostaglandin F2a by intra vaginal sponges (IVS) for two days and intra muscular (IM) can improve reproductive parameters of thin tailed ewe lambs. The Use of Agricultural and Logging Waste as Litter Materials in Broiler Rearing
A research has been conducted to study the use of agricultural and logging waste as litter materials in broiler rearing. Experimental method was used with completely randomized design. The treatments were the use of agricultural and logging waste as litter materials (L) consisting of L1 = rice hulls, L2 = rice straw, L3 = wood draff and L4 = saw dust. Parameters observed were litter moisture, production index and income over feed and litter cost (IOFLC). The experiment used 96 chickens, which were divided, into 24 cages. Statistical analysis showed that the use of agricultural and logging waste significantly (P<0,01) affected the litter moisture, production index and IOFLC. It could be concluded that rice straw, small plane wood and saw dust could be used as litter materials in broiler rearing. The Effects of L-Lysine HCl when Applied With Early Feed Restriction on Body Weight, Breast Meat Yields and Abdominal Fat of Male Broiler Chickens
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan penambahan L-lysine HCl dalam pakan yag diterapkan pada pembatasan pakan awal terhadap bobot badan, daging dada dan lemak abdomen pada ayam broiler jantan. Seratus empat puluh empat DOC jantan strain Ross 208 secara random dialokasikan ke dalam 3 perlakuan penambahan    L-lysine HCL dan 2 perlakuan pengaturan pemberian pakan. Pakan perlakuan diberikan sampai ayam berumur 35 hari, pembatasan pakan diberikan pada ayam umur 6 sampai dengan 12 hari. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis ragam dengan pola factorial 2 x 3. Analisis ragam menunjukkan baik perlakuan penambahan lysine maupun pengaturan pemberian pakan berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap semua parameter yang diuji. Namun demikian ada kecenderungan penambahan lysine 1,13% mengasilkan bobot badan dan daging dada yang lebih tinggi serta menurunkan lemak abdomen. Penambahan L-lysine HCl dan pengaturan pemberian pakan tidak menghasilkan interaksi yang nyata terhadap semua parameter. Hal ini berarti pembatasan pakan tidak mempengaruhi kebutuhan lysine secara spesifik pada ayam broiler jantan. Evaluation of Polymorphism of Leu/Val of Growth Hormone Gene in Friesian Holstein Cows at Breeding Centre of Dairy Cattle Baturraden
The Leu/Val polymorphism of the growth hormone evaluation was studied in 35 Friesian Holstein dairy cow at Baturraden Breeding Centre of Dairy Cattle. A 211 bp DNA fragment of GH gene spanning from the forth intron region (49 bp) to fifth of exon (162 bp) was amplified and digested with AluI restriction enzyme to identified polymorphism at this locus. Allele frequencies of variant Leu (leucine) and Val (valine) were 0.91 and 0.09, respectively. Selection to raising of Val allele frequencies have probably to increase of milk production at population of Friesian Holstein dairy cow at Baturraden Breeding Centre of Dairy Cattle. Physical Characteristic and Palatability of Market Vegetable Waste Wafer for Sheep
Vegetable waste is a part of vegetables or vegetables that are discarded. This vegetable market wastes are perishable, voluminous (bulky) and the availability was fluctuated so the processing technology is needed to make this vegetable waste become durable, easy to be stored and could be given to the animal. To solve this problem, vegetable waste could be formed into a wafer. The objective of this experiment was to determine the physical characteristic and palatability of vegetable market waste after formed into a wafer. The experimental design used in this research was Completely Randomized Design with 5 treatments and 4 replicates. The treatments were the composition of raw materials used: 100% corn husk  (R1); 75% corn husk  +25% mungbean waste (R2); 50% corn husk + 25% mungbean waste + 25% cauliflower leaf  (R3); 25%  corn husk +50% mungbean waste + 25% cauliflower leaf (R4); 25% corn husk + 25% mungbean waste +50%  cauliflower leaf (R5).  Variables measured were water activity, water absorption, density and palatability. The results of this research indicated that treatments significantly affected water activity (P<0.08) and wafer palatability (P<0.05). The highly significant difference in water absorption and wafer density (P<0.01) were found among treatments. Based on physical characteristic, R1 had the highest water absorption. R5 had the lowest water activity, whereas R3 had the highest wafer density. Wafer of R4 was the most palatable for the experimental sheep compare to other treatments.
