The Impact of Microfinance on Gender Equality in India
This paper explores the impacts of microfinance on gender equality in India by examining its effects through the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. It begins with an overview of the history of microfinance globally and is followed by an in-depth explanation of the current microfinance landscape in India. This paper then uses a case study approach to collect qualitative data that contributes to this discussion on microfinance and gender equality. By studying the stories of four women and their experiences using the services provided by microfinance institutions, the paper illustrates how microfinance contributes to the advancement of the specific targets outlined under several UN Sustainable Development Goals
The Narrative Composer: Hector Berlioz’s Impact on The Evolution of Film Scoring In The Twenty-First Century
Hector Berlioz was a French Romantic composer, whose literary and musical works have an undeniable effect on the history of Western music. Specifically, Berlioz’s most famous orchestral work, the Symphonie Fantastique, transformed how music could be utilized in an orchestral setting because it was the first programmatic symphony, which is a symphony with music set to a written narrative. The Symphonie would inspire German composer Richard Wagner to create what is now recognized as the leitmotif, a musical phrase used to identify an idea. In modern Hollywood film music, Wagner is credited with establishing the techniques that have become staples of the genre, such that Berlioz’s contributions were unjustly overshadowed as time went on. This project will be applying the written and musical works of Hector Berlioz to the modern Hollywood film score for the purpose of demonstrating how the techniques and creative intentions behind film compositions are indebted to Berlioz’s literary and musical works
Collaboration, Compassion, & Communication within Applied Behavior Analysis
The reputation of behavior analysis can no longer be dismissed by behavior analysts. Appropriate dissemination, marketing, communication, and use of scientific terminology with caregivers, practitioners, and the public play a vital role in ensuring improvement of this reputation. Learning these skills and incorporating them into trainings so behavior analysts can utilize the gained knowledge into practice. Acknowledging the history of behavior analysis and the reputation it produced, collaborating with professionals, marketing behavior analysis appropriately, and the importance of behavior jargon can be done with further research and understanding of how to implement all of these in daily practice

These Days
These Days’ is a hardcover, fabric-covered book that when opened is resemblant of a game board, around the border of the border are cut and pasted squares of paper with significant words that describe emotions and things that offer comfort. On the inside of the cover is an introduction that describes the effects of the consistent bombardment of bad news in the media on the author’s lifestyle, she compares her life to a board game, the onslaught of emotions counteracted with acts of self-care to offer herself comfort from the anxiety. A smaller pamphlet attached to the inside consists of collage work with different mediums of drawings, paint, photocopies, and images overlaid with news headlines that evoke anxiety and concern for our countryhttps://scholarship.rollins.edu/book_arts/1166/thumbnail.jp
Please Have a Seat / Ngồi Xuống
Through found objects and familial artifacts, my
current work focuses on constructing a family
dining room to signify how family meals establish
cultural traditions that can extend from generation to
generation. Family dinners are key to building culture
because each member can connect, communicate,
and share their unique backgrounds. I better
understood fragments of my family’s experiences
in Vietnam as well as their difficulties adapting to
America thanks to their stories. To construct my
dining space, I transferred personal artifacts from my
home to the new installation space. Then, I replicated
my mother’s cooking through appropriating found
objects. Using text, the “noodles” and “ice cubes”
became an important conversational narrative that
provided notions of identity, culture, and memory.
Unlike my mother’s method of cooking, preparing
my own “fake” meals provided a unique perspective
of the preparation process and a familiar sense of
childhood nostalgia. By presenting personal recorded
conversations with my family along with historical
photographs I make the audience feel as if though
they are a part of the work, welcoming them into the
space. Because I have not fully experienced Vietnam,
I project the same feeling of cultural diaspora with the
audience by simulating a unique conversation
and dining tradition.https://scholarship.rollins.edu/studioart_all/1021/thumbnail.jp
