Why Indonesia Should Ratify the Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction Agreement?
Indonesia signed the Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ) Agreement in June 2023 but has yet to decide on ratification. This treaty fills legal gaps in UNCLOS 1982 by regulating marine genetic resources (MGRs), marine protected areas (MPAs), environmental impact assessments (EIAs), and equitable benefit-sharing mechanisms in areas beyond national jurisdiction (ABNJ). Given Indonesia’s strategic position as the world’s largest archipelagic state, ratification is essential to align national policies with global commitments, secure access to MGRs, and reinforce Indonesia’s role in international ocean governance. This study employs a doctrinal legal approach to examine Indonesia’s rights and obligations under the BBNJ Agreement and identify necessary adjustments to domestic laws and policies. The findings indicate that delaying ratification weakens Indonesia’s position in ABNJ governance and risks limiting access to MGR-related research, technology transfer, and benefit-sharing opportunities. Immediate ratification would ensure Indonesia’s active participation in global marine conservation while strengthening national legal certainty and maritime diplomacy. Future research should explore legal harmonization strategies to facilitate effective implementation of the agreement
Optimizing Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell Efficiency with a Triple Blend of Caesalpinia sappan L., Dracaena angustifolia, and Clitoria ternatea L.
ABSTRACT. Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) offer a promising sustainable solution to global electricity challenges by converting sunlight into electricity using photosensitive dyes. This study explores the performance of DSSCs using natural dyes from sappanwood (Caesalpinia sappan L.), pandan leaves (Dracaena angustifolia), and telang flowers (Clitoria ternatea L.). Extraction of the dyes was done through maceration, with combinations made in single, double, and triple-component blends. UV-Vis spectroscopy showed increased light absorption in the 400-700 nm range. Combination F5 uniquely showed absorption peaks at 534.22, 573.64, 619.12, and 664.21 nm, which were affected by nine conjugated double bonds and electron transfer from C=C and carbonyl groups. Comparative band gap energy analysis showed that the triple-blending dyes exhibited the lowest energy range of 0.3392-0.4469 eV, compared to the double dye (0.4549-0.5778 eV) and single dye (0.4541-0.6248 eV), indicating better light harvesting ability. FTIR analysis confirmed the chemical structure of the dye. Prominent spectroscopic features include a broad band of 3332 cm-1 for hydroxyl groups, peaks at 2919 cm-1 and 1732 cm-1 representing alkane and carboxyl groups in cellulose, and an aromatic lignin C=C stretch at 1672 cm-1. The optimized F5 blend (1:2:1 ratio) achieved the highest solar cell efficiency of 3.24% with a band gap of 0.3392 eV. These results validate the potential of natural dye blends as DSSC sensitizers, showing enhanced absorption spectrum, improved stability, and increased electric current generation.

Community Readiness and Support for Success in Relocating to the New Capital City
The capital city functions as a hub for government and commerce. Moving Indonesia’s capital is expected to minimize the economic gap between Java and other regions while addressing Jakarta's increasing unfitness due to overcrowding, environmental decline, and low living standards. Nonetheless, society's readiness is still an essential concern. This research employed an explanatory method with a retrospective design to investigate how individuals' behaviors, which are influenced by their readiness and support for IKN as an eco-friendly capital, shaped their expectations of IKN as a sustainable city. Our findings underscore the urgency of the situation. The current environmental behaviors of the Indonesian people may not be sufficient for realizing a green city. Immediate action is needed to address this. To succeed, the IKN needs better infrastructure, enhanced public transportation, improved walking pathways, and lifestyle changes that encourage sustainability, like using renewable energy and reducing CO2 emissions
Data dianalisis secara statistik berdasarkan one-way repeated measures ANOVA (ɑ = 0,05).

Social Resilience From a Sociological Perspective : Concept and Its Application To Cardamom Farming Commmunity
In recent years, resilience has received great attention from various parties. This concept, which was initially better known in the field of ecology, then also developed in the social field, so that the term social resilience was known. This study aims to analyze the concept of social resilience from a sociological perspective related to the cardamom farming community in Sambirata Village, Cilongok District, Banyumas Regency. The method used is descriptive qualitative. This research on cardamom resilience is based on three main aspects, namely the capacity to overcome disturbances (coping capacity) , the capacity to adapt, and the capacity to change or transform. The results of the study show that the resilience of farmer groups can be seen from the emergence of new jobs after the Covid-19 pandemic, the increasing number of farmer group members from 30 to 250 members in the last 5 years, production that was initially traditional to modern with the entry of CSR stimulus and government and private institutions, increasing productivity, cardamom prices that are increasing day by day, the market has started to develop outside the city. The MOU has also been carried out to overcome the shortage of land owned by farmers and villages so that the sustainability of economic development through cardamom cultivation remains stable and tends to increase. Derivatives of cardamom fruit production also have economic value, which means that almost all elements of the cardamom plant can be utilized. One of them is cardamom residue which can be processed into essential oils and spice drinks. The results of the study above illustrate that 3 points of the 17 provisions in the SDGs for the sustainability of forest communities are poverty alleviation, health management (medicines), and preserving Flora (plants) with local wisdom
Bridging United Cities and Local Governments Asia Pacific (UCLG ASPAC) Role in Advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Poin 16 In Southeast Asia 2022
Human trafficking has been becoming a problem in the Southeast Asia region until today. Southeast Asia is the primary transit hub for human traffickers with millions of people subjected to forced labour and exploitation or commonly known as “modern slavery”. The most victims in 2022 are reportedly from South and Central Asia. It emphasized that Southeast Asia is partaking as a contributor to the high number of human trafficking in the world. The concept of paradiplomacy and the concept of sustainable goals (SDGs) will be used, particularly SDGs point 16: Peace, Justice, and Institution to illustrate the issue and effort to eradicate in Southeast Asia. The purpose of this article is to analyze the efforts made by a non- governmental actor, United Cities and Local Government Asia Pacific (UCLG- ASPAC) to deal with the issue of human trafficking and correlate it with SDGs point 16. For that, this article employed qualitative methods, including a descriptive analysis of implementation between UCLG- ASPAC and local government. This article wants to show that the collaboration between UCLG ASPAC and local government is still not optimal in dealing with transnational human trafficking crimes, particularly in Southeast Asia. The result obtained are that the role of local government in UCLG ASPAC has made various effort to advancing the sustainable development goals (SDGs) point 16 and eradicate the problem of trafficking both from increase transparency in the system, become a bridge between the government and other actors, communicate information to the public and provide responses to the government
