    No full text
Background: Clinical competence is essential for safe, high-quality nursing care. Workplace learning conditions (learning climate) may be a key organizational lever to strengthen competence among practicing nurses. Aim: To examine whether learning climate predicts nurses’ clinical competence in an Indonesian tertiary referral hospital. Methods: This associative cross-sectional study was conducted at Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Hospital, Central Java, Indonesia (August–December 2025). A total of 125 registered nurses from IRNA 1 and the Emergency Department participated via total sampling. Learning climate was measured using the Clinical Learning Environment and Supervision (CLES) scale, while clinical competence was assessed using a 28-item questionnaire based on Indonesia’s Regulation No. 40/2017. Linear regression tested the predictive effect of learning climate on clinical competence (p < .05). Results: Participants’ mean age was 36.90 years (SD = 8.24) with mean work experience of 12.24 years (SD = 8.75). Mean learning climate and clinical competence scores were 113.52 (SD = 12.53) and 121.02 (SD = 10.05), respectively. Learning climate significantly predicted clinical competence (B = 0.615, p < .001), explaining substantial variance (R² = 596). Age and work experience were not significant predictors. Conclusion: A more supportive learning climate is associated with higher nurse clinical competence. Strengthening supervision, feedback, and learning opportunities may accelerate competence development and improve care quality

ANALYSIS OF ROCK MASS CLASSIFICATION ON MINE SLOPES USING THE ROCK MASS RATING (RMR) METHOD

    No full text
Indonesia possesses substantial mineral and coal resources due to its geological conditions. However, these resources must be used sustainably, as they are non-renewable. In addition, mining activities are required to ensure occupational safety, particularly in open-pit mining operations where activities are highly influenced by the presence of mine slopes (pit slopes). Slope stability is therefore a critical aspect, given the numerous slope failure incidents reported globally resulting from inadequate planning that fails to account for geotechnical conditions comprehensively. This study aims to analyze mine slope conditions using the Rock Mass Rating (RMR) classification method to determine the rock mass class at the study site. The research employs both qualitative and quantitative approaches, with systematic data analysis based on the RMR method. The research stages include a literature review, field surveys, data acquisition, data processing, and data analysis. Primary data consist of scanline measurements, discontinuity conditions, and groundwater conditions, while secondary data include the rock's Uniaxial Compressive Strength (UCS) values. The analysis results indicate an average uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) of 1.54 MPa, a Rock Quality Designation (RQD) value of 97.91%, an average joint spacing of 0.45 m, and discontinuity surfaces that are rough with apertures of less than 1 mm and slightly weathered joint walls, as well as groundwater conditions classified as damp. Based on the weighting of all these parameters, a Rock Mass Rating (RMR) value of 66 was obtained, which falls into Class II, corresponding to a good rock mass category. These results indicate that the rock mass quality of the mine slope at the study site is in relatively good condition according to the RMR classification

The increasing global demand for cobalt, projected to reach 390,000 tons by 2030, has drawngrowing attention to the potential of laterite deposits as strategic mineral resources, particularlyin ultramafic rock regions such as eastern Indonesia. This study was conducted on Pakal Island,Maba District, East Halmahera, North Maluku. It aims to examine the geological conditions, geochemical characteristics of nickel laterite deposits, and the enrichment of cobalt (Co) in thestudy area. The methods employed include geological field mapping, rock sampling, and laboratoryanalyses involving petrography, XRD, XRF, and SEM-EDX. The results show that the Dunit andHarzburgit units contain olivine, orthopyroxene, and serpentine minerals. The limonite zone containshematite, goethite, and lithiophorite, while the saprolite zone contains garnierite and enstatite.Co enrichment is predominantly found in the limonite layer (0.12–0.15%) and is influenced bylithology, degree of serpentinization, topography, geological structures, and the tropical climate, which accelerates chemical weathering. The vertical distribution of Co shows an inverse correlationwith Ni. These findings contribute to the understanding of the formation processes andcharacteristics of nickel cobalt laterite deposits in eastern Indonesia and provide a scientificbasis for future exploration of cobalt-based strategic mineral resource

This study aims to evaluate the geotechnical conditions of the rock masses in Mengger Hill that previously has been affected by the Opak Fault. Mengger Hill has some outcrops that show an offset between the bedding planes that indicated it as one of the impacted zone of the Opak Fault that was caused by a 5,9 Richter scale earthquake in Bantul, Yogyakarta. Because it located close to residential areas and and also used as Geosite and tourist attractions because its beauty scenery, rock stability analysis is essential for risk mitigation. This study will be focused on determining the types of constituent rocks, rock strength, and rock mass classifications using RMR (Rock Mass Rating) and SMR (Slope Mass Rating) methods to determine the rock mass quality and support recommendation for the slope of Mengger Hill as an initial development for a sustainable Geoheritage. The study began with a rock sampling to determine the rock characteristics and scanline method to measure the orientation set of the discontinuities along the slope. The rock samples that has been taken is done for a Point Load Test in Laboratory. The results show that the constituent rock of the rock mass is dominated by massive tuff from the Semilir Formation and has Is (Point Load Index) values between 0.27 to 0.78 MPa that converted into σc (Uniaxial Compressive Strength) using Kramadibrata’s Equation (1992) with a range between 3.22 to 9.25 MPa. The orientation set is indicating a wedge sliding potential with RMR value of 65 (Good Rock) and SMR value of 80 (IIa - Good). The support recommendation is a spot bolting, fence, and toe ditch (optional) to handle debris in the form of blocks failure

Quality of Life Among Older Adults Living with HIV: A Literature Review

    No full text
Advances in antiretroviral therapy have extended the life expectancy of people living with HIV, leading to a growing population of older adults with this condition who face age-related biological decline alongside persistent psychosocial pressures that may reduce their quality of life. This review was conducted to describe the quality of life of older adults living with HIV and to examine the psychosocial factors influencing it based on research published in the past five years. A literature review approach was employed by searching several online databases and selecting studies published between 2019 and 2025 that focused on quality of life and psychosocial aspects among individuals aged 50 years and older living with HIV. Six studies met the inclusion criteria and show a consistent pattern indicating that the quality of life of older adults with HIV is shaped by psychosocial conditions such as stigma, depression, and limited social support, all of which contribute to diminished well-being. Conversely, protective factors such as resilience and community support play a crucial role in enhancing psychological health and improving overall quality of life. These findings highlight that the well-being of older adults living with HIV is strongly influenced by their psychosocial environment, and emphasize the need for interventions that strengthen social support and foster resilience to promote better quality of life within this population

    No full text
The development of antiparasitic agents derived from natural products continues to receive considerable attention due to increasing resistance and limitations of conventional therapies. This study aimed to examine the phytochemical profile of the chloroform extract of fennel leaves (F. vulgare Mill.) as a basis for antiparasitic agent development. The extract was obtained using a maceration method and analyzed using thin layer chromatography. Qualitative analysis was conducted based on the observation of visible spots after spraying with appropriate visualization reagents, while supporting analysis was performed based on the calculation of retention factor values for the detected spots. The results revealed the presence of several major groups of secondary metabolites, including flavonoids, terpenoids, alkaloids, and phenolic compounds, as indicated by specific color changes and retention factor values. The diversity of these metabolites suggests the possible involvement of multiple biochemical pathways related to antiparasitic mechanisms. Overall, the phytochemical profile of the chloroform extract of fennel leaves provides important preliminary data to support further research on natural product–based antiparasitic agents

The Relationship Between Peer Group Support and Snack Choosing Behavior Among School-Aged Children at Limboto 1 Public Elementary School

    No full text
School-age children, aged 6 to 12, are at a crucial developmental stage, where school experiences are a key aspect of their lives. Children's snack selection behavior is influenced by two factors: personal factors such as knowledge and habits, and environmental factors such as the role of family, peers (peer group), and school conditions. Peer group support is a form of social support provided by individuals within friendships to help and strengthen each other. This study aims to determine the relationship between peer group support and snack choice behavior among school-aged children at Limboto 1 Public Elementary School. This study used probability sampling, a technique that provides an equal opportunity for each member of the population to be selected as a sample. The method used in this study was proportionate stratified random sampling, a sampling technique used when the population has non-homogeneous members and is divided into strata with varying numbers. The results above indicate a relationship between peer group support and snack choice behavior among school-aged children. This was confirmed by statistical testing using Chi Square, which yielded a p-value of 0.009 <α = 0.05

Management of Unilateral Hyperlactation in a Mother Exclusively Breastfeeding 7-Month-Old Infant: A Case Report

    No full text
Background: Hyperlactation is a condition characterized by excessive breast milk production beyond the infant’s nutritional needs, which may lead to feeding difficulties and maternal discomfort. Unilateral hyperlactation is a rare condition and may result from idiopathic mechanisms, iatrogenic factors, or a combination of both. This case report describes the mechanism and successful management of unilateral hyperlactation occurring after contralateral breast abscess surgery. Case Report: A 24-year-old lactating mother presented with excessive milk production, breast pain, and recurrent ductal obstruction in the right breast. One month prior, she had undergone surgical drainage of a left breast abscess. Her 7-month-old infant experienced breastfeeding difficulties, green frothy stools, and excessive weight gain. The condition was diagnosed as a unilateral hyperlactation of idiopathic–iatrogenic hybrid, whereby reduced stimulation of the surgically treated left breast triggered compensatory overproduction in the right breast. A comprehensive management using Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine (ABM) protocol was implemented, including laid-back breastfeeding positioning, block feeding for 14 days, and oral pseudoephedrine 60 mg twice daily. Significant clinical improvement was observed, with reduced milk production to levels appropriate for the infant’s needs, resolution of maternal symptoms, and successful continuation of breastfeeding. Conclusion: Unilateral hyperlactation following breast surgery can be effectively managed using an ABM Protocol–based approach combining block feeding and pharmacological therapy, enabling successful continuation of breastfeeding
