The Effect of Economic Growth on Increased Household Waste in Semarang City
The increasing pollution levels are one of the many problems related to nature and environmental sustainability. Several cities in Indonesia have started to address the waste problem and seek solutions todeal with it. One such city is Semarang, the capital of Central Java Province. Many factors contribute to theincrease in waste generation, including economic levels, city centers, industrial centers, low environmentalawareness, and education centers. The relationship between these elements shows an increase in theamount of waste in Semarang. The city's economy is developing rapidly compared to other areas in CentralJava, even surpassing national growth. The Semarang City Government has implemented various wastemanagement models, such as waste banks and paid plastic bags. Despite these efforts, the governmenthas failed to address the problem adequately, without realizing that households are the largestcontributors to daily consumption. Data shows that women are the most involved actors in householddomestic activities related to waste sorting. This study was conducted using a mixed-method approach.Public awareness of waste sorting from home by the community was found low before being transportedto the waste collection center. This is even though waste sorting plays an important role in reducing thegeneration of accumulated waste, thereby contributing to environmental sustainability. Additionally, itincreases public awareness to actively participate in protecting the environment

Women’s Participation in Parliament Comparison Between Indonesia and Singapore in themConcept Of SDG 5 (Gender Equality AndWomen’s Empowerment)
The pervasive gender-based discrimination is a fundamental cause of the insufficientrepresentation of women in politics, particularly within parliaments. This discriminationundermines women's confidence and erodes public trust in their capabilities. Nevertheless, policies addressing women's rights require the active involvement of women. Recognizing thisissue, the government is endeavouring to enhance women's participation in parliaments throughvarious initiatives. Additionally, the United Nations, through its global agenda—the SustainableDevelopment Goals—has included gender equality as a key objective to address this issue. Thisstudy will compare the governmental measures taken by two Southeast Asian countries,Indonesia and Singapore, to improve the quality of women's participation in their respectiveparliaments. The analysis will employ feminism theory, political participation theory, andwomen's political participation theory. With a qualitative-comparative method to gain acomprehensive understanding of the current status of women in parliament, interviews will beconducted with parliament members, representatives from The Ministry of NationalDevelopment Planning/Bappenas, and feminist activists. Results from comparing both countriesare acquired as it will be seen that governmental actions solely, do not guarantee the quality ofwomen’s participation in parliaments. Further actions are required in order to obtain significantprogress

Siri' Na Pacce Culture In The Practice Of Forced Marriage Of Minors: A Challenge To The Protection Of Women's And Children's Rights
This study examines the philosophy of siri’ na pacce within the context of the Bugis Makassar society, which is a time-honored heritage regulating social actions and behavior. Siri’ na pacce, which literally means a sense of shame and pain, is more deeply understood as dignity and honor. In Bugis Makassar society, siri’ na pacce significantly influences perspectives and practices related to marriage, where family honor is highly esteemed. However, the implementation of siri’ na pacce values does not always lead to positive outcomes, as evidenced by the widespread phenomenon of forced child marriages. Data from the Makassar High Religious Court in 2022 shows there were 2,663 applications for child marriage dispensation, 96% of which were approved. Reports from the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPP) indicate that South Sulawesi is one of the provinces with the highest number of marriage dispensation requests. Forced child marriages are considered an effective way to maintain and restore family honor in response to social and technological developments that influence gender interactions. This study uses a qualitative method with a socio-legal approach to understand the social phenomena in the field related to siri’ na pacce culture and the challenges in protecting the rights of women and children. The findings of this study are expected to provide a deeper understanding of the impact of siri’ na pacce culture on the practice of forced marriages and its implications for the protection of women's and children's rights in Bugis Makassar society
Optimization and Characterization of Urease Immobilization from Red Lentil Seeds (Lens culinaris) Using Chitosan
ABSTRACT. Urease is an enzyme that plays a vital role in catalyzing the hydrolysis of urea into ammonia (NH3) and carbon dioxide (CO2). This study focuses on the isolation of urease from red lentil seeds, followed by its immobilization. The objective of this research is to optimize and characterize urease that has been immobilized using chitosan and activated with glutaraldehyde. Red lentil seeds were processed with a mortar and pestle at low temperatures (4 °C) to obtain a crude enzyme extract, which was then concentrated using 50% acetone (P50) prior to immobilization. The optimization process for P50 urease immobilization involved assessing various factors, including chitosan concentration, glutaraldehyde concentration, temperature, and the immersion duration in glutaraldehyde. The findings revealed that the optimal conditions for immobilizing P50 urease were achieved at a chitosan concentration of 0.75%, with a 2% glutaraldehyde soak at 25 °C for 2 hours, resulting in an enzyme activity of 7.042 U/g. The immobilized P50 urease demonstrated the ability to be reused up to 7 times while maintaining 51% of its initial activity. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) analysis indicated morphological changes in the beads after the addition of glutaraldehyde and the enzyme, shifting from a rounded to an irregular shape. Additionally, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis identified C-N and C=N peaks, confirming the successful incorporation of glutaraldehyde.

Integrated FMEA and FTA Approaches for Quality Control in False Eyelash Manufacturing
The synthetic eyelash manufacturing industry in Indonesia, particularly PT Hyup Sung Indonesia (HSI) in Purbalingga, faces ongoing challenges in maintaining product quality due to a high incidence of defects. This study aims to analyze and mitigate production-related risks through the application of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA). FMEA is utilized to systematically identify potential failure modes and prioritize improvement efforts based on the Risk Priority Number (RPN), while FTA is employed to trace the root causes of critical failures in a hierarchical structure. The FMEA results identified three major failure modes with the highest RPN values: knot misalignment during opening (RPN 150), insufficient application of adhesive (RPN 140), and curling of the knot during opening (RPN 140). FTA revealed that these issues primarily arise from equipment-related factors, operator handling methods, and inconsistencies in the oven-setting process. Based on these findings, several corrective actions are proposed, including the replacement of production tools (racks and brushes), installation of automatic timers, standardization of operating procedures, and operator training programs. The implementation of these measures is expected to reduce the risk of production failures and enhance the overall quality of synthetic eyelash product
