Healthcare professionals, particularly doctors, navigate a delicate balance between empathy and emotional resilience, a challenge that became more pronounced during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study explores the experiences of doctors in managing empathy while coping with burnout, compassion fatigue, and resource scarcity. Through in-depth interviews with general practitioners and specialists, four key themes emerged: the emotional impact of patient conditions on doctors, the heightened burnout caused by excessive workloads, the distress of resource shortages, and the struggle to maintain professionalism despite emotional strain. Findings highlight the dual nature of empathy—while essential for patient care, it also contributes to emotional exhaustion. The study underscores the urgent need for systemic support, including psychological interventions and institutional strategies, to sustain healthcare professionals' well-being and ensure compassionate yet sustainable medical practice

Stunting is a condition in which the height or length of a toddler is lower than it should be based on age, which is caused by long-term malnutrition, especially in the first 1000 days of life (HPK). The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the history of exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of stunting in toddlers. The researcher used the Purposive Sampling Technique. The samples in this study were mothers and toddlers aged 2-5 years who had been registered at the Tilango Health Center, Gorontalo Regency, totaling 92 samples. The results of the study using the Chi-square test obtained ap value of 0.038 (p <0.05), which showed that the variable history of exclusive breastfeeding had a significant relationship with the incidence of stunting in toddlers aged 2-5 years at the Tilango Health Center, Gorontalo Regency. The Health Center is expected to be able to carry out routine monitoring of children at risk of stunting, with special attention to exclusive breastfeeding

    Get PDF
Background: The incidence of Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) accompanied by Multivessel Disease (MVD) has increased annually, necessitating appropriate revascularization strategies to minimize clinical risks. Objective: This study aimed to  evaluate various revascularization strategies using Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) that can be applied in patients with AMI and MVD. Methods: A systematic review was conducted using the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) method. The keywords used were (“Revascularization" AND "Multivessel Disease" AND "Acute Coronary Syndrome”) OR (“Revascularization" AND "Multivessel Disease" AND "Acute Myocardial Infarction”). Articles were collected based on  inclusion criteria: original articles, published in English, and published between 2020 and 2025. Results: A total of 1,263 articles were found in the initial search. Of these, 169 were excluded due to duplication, 1,069 due to irrelevant PICO criteria, and 6 due to limited access. From the remaining 19 articles, it was found that revascularization strategies could be classified based on the number of vessels treated (culprit-only, incomplete, and complete revascularization) and the timing of the intervention (immediate and staged revascularization). Conclusion: No single strategy was superior in all contexts. The choice of revascularization strategy should be individualized based on each patient’s clinical status and coronary anatomy to optimize outcomes

Gender-Based Risk Factors for Urinary Incontinence among Older Adults Living in Nursing Homes in Indonesia: A Cross-Sectional Study

    Get PDF
Urinary incontinence (UI) is a prevalent condition that disproportionately affects institutionalized older adults and manifests differently across genders. This study aimed to examine gender-based risk factors associated with UI among older adults living in nursing homes. A cross-sectional study was conducted involving 317 older adults from four government-run nursing homes. Participants were selected using purposive sampling based on inclusion criteria. Participants completed the Questionnaire for Urinary Incontinence Diagnosis (QUID), the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS), and the Pelvic Floor Distress Inventory-20 (PFDI-20). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and logistic regression across three models (overall, female, and male). The prevalence of UI was 28.07%, with higher rates among females (15.77%) compared to males. Pelvic floor muscle weakness was significantly associated with UI in all models. Among women, reproductive factors such as a menopause duration exceeding 10 years and a history of childbirth were also significantly associated with an increased risk of UI. Education level emerged as a significant confounding variable in the general model. Pelvic floor muscle weakness is a key gender-linked risk factor for UI, particularly among women with specific reproductive histories. These findings underscore the importance of incorporating gender-responsive assessments and pelvic floor interventions into institutional geriatric care practices

Effect of Progressive Muscle and Autogenic Relaxation on Post-Spinal Pain and Anxiety: A Three-Group Randomized Controlled Trial

    Get PDF
Patients undergoing cesarean sections (CS) under spinal anesthesia often experience pain, anxiety, and peripheral vasoconstriction. This study, a randomized, blinded, controlled trial, compared progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) and autogenic training (AOT) with standard treatment to alleviate the aforementioned symptoms. Sixty-six female patients who underwent CS aged 20-35 were randomized into three groups: PMR (n=22), AOT (n=24), or standard (n=20). Pain and anxiety were evaluated using standardized instruments: Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety (HARS) and Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). Both groups indicated a statistically significant decrease in pain and anxiety as compared to the control group (p = 0.001). Both the PMR (Mean difference; pain, 2.54) and anxiety (17.37) improved significantly more than the AOT (pain, 1.23; anxiety, 11.68) group, while the control group minimally improved (pain, 0.32; anxiety, 2.27) over their pre-intervention scores. Statistical tests, Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis, showed statistically significant differences between the three groups, p <0.034; p <0.001, 95% CI. Thus, the PMR is more effective than AOT or standard care. Therefore, PMR should be included in the postoperative care of nurse anesthetists in their pragmatic collaborative effort to support non-pharmacological symptom self-management in cesarean patients

    Get PDF
This study aims to examine the effect of carbon emission disclosure (CED) and green intellectual capital (GIC) on firm value from a sustainability perspective. The primary objective is to determine the extent to which carbon emission disclosure and the implementation of environmentally focused intellectual capital influence the value of manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2022–2024 period. This research employs a quantitative approach using a causal associative method to measure cause-and-effect relationships between variables. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, focusing on companies that publish annual reports and sustainability reports and disclose data related to carbon emission disclosure and green intellectual capital. The data used are secondary data obtained from the official IDX website and the respective company websites. Firm value is measured using the Tobin's Q ratio, carbon emission disclosure is measured based on the disclosure index developed by Choi et al. (2013), and green intellectual capital is assessed through the components of green human capital, green structural capital, and green relational capital. The analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS software. The results indicate that the residual data are normally distributed and that the regression model meets classical assumptions. Hypothesis testing shows that carbon emission disclosure has no significant effect on firm value, with a probability value of 0.4350. In contrast, green intellectual capital has a significantly positive effect on firm value, with a coefficient of 0.808346 and a probability of 0.0000

Pengaruh Upah Minimum, Pendidikan, Literasi Digital, dan Lapangan Kerja Informal terhadap Tingkat Pengangguran Terbuka (Tpt) di Pulau Jawa Tahun 2015-2022

    Get PDF
Java has the highest labour force in Indonesia, which contributes to an elevated open unemployment rate due to the imbalance between job seekers and available vacancies. Previous studies have shown that factors such as the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP), education level, digital literacy, and informal employment may influence unemployment. Despite being the nation’s economic hub, Java records the highest open unemployment rate in Indonesia. This study aimed to examine the effects of the Provincial Minimum Wage, education level, digital literacy, and informal employment on the open unemployment rate in six provinces in Java from 2015 to 2022. A quantitative approach was applied using secondary data and the Fixed Effect Model for panel data analysis. The findings show that the Provincial Minimum Wage does not significantly affect the open unemployment rate. In contrast, higher education levels, improved digital literacy, and greater availability of informal employment significantly reduce unemployment. These results suggest that policymakers should focus on enhancing workforce skills through training, expanding access to education, and supporting informal sectors such as micro, small, and medium enterprises to create broader employment opportunities.

    Get PDF
From a theoretical standpoint, volatility in the capital market and the foreign exchange market is linked through a bidirectional causal mechanism, underscoring the close interdependence between the rupiah exchange rate and equity prices in Indonesia. This study aims to empirically investigate the nature and dynamics of this relationship, thereby providing robust validation of the interconnection between the two markets. Utilizing a time series framework, specifically the Vector Autoregression (VAR) model, the analysis covers the period from 1995 to 2024. The empirical findings confirm the existence of a two-way causal linkage between the rupiah exchange rate and equity prices, with both markets exhibiting strong and immediate responses to shocks originating in either domain.
