The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) is a trusted provider of weather data. The meteorological characteristics assessed at BMKG stations include elevation, air temperature, humidity, rainfall, and the number of rainy days. This research aims to categorize BMKG stations according to these meteorological characteristics by employing the K-Means Clustering method. An analysis of data from 34 BMKG stations in Central Java, collected between 2019 and 2023, shows an average elevation of 101.6536 meters above sea level, an average air temperature of 22.5965 degrees Celsius, humidity levels at 66.9224 percent, total rainfall measuring 1,848.3924 mm, and an average of 119.5294 rainy days. The clustering process led to the formation of three distinct clusters: Cluster 1, which includes 22 BMKG stations; Cluster 2, containing 6 BMKG stations; and Cluster 3, which also comprises 6 BMKG stations. The assessment of clustering effectiveness using the Davies-Bouldin Index resulted in a DBI value of 1.02575, suggesting that while the clustering outcomes are satisfactory, they are not fully optimized

Despite being a Muslim country, Pakistan still has laws that discriminate against women, especially when it comes to their status as victims of assault. An example is the honor killing that occurred in this country, which is a very crucial event. This research aims to ensure and analyze the protection of women's human rights and Pakistan's legislative framework. In this research, normative legal research is used to analyze the provision of legal protection to women who are victims of honor killings in Pakistan. This research analyzes the perspective of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) to provide answers on the formulation of the problem put forward in this research. Using this research methodology, it was determined that several reasons contributed to the incomplete implementation of legal regulations related to establishing women's human rights in Pakistan, including the lack of adequate legal enforcement, ingrained patriarchal culture and customs, and lack of knowledge. among women themselves about their rights. Additionally, there is evidence of substandard implementation of CEDAW, acts of discrimination against women, and cases of honor killings signed by Pakistan. Meanwhile, the CEDAW articles set out rules regarding how women's rights should be realized

PATOPHYSIOLOGY AND LATEST TREATMENT OPTIONS OF VASCULITIS: A LITERATURE REVIEW

Inflammation is a body defense process against various potentially damaging causes. Excessive inflammation in the vascular can cause an autoimmune process in vasculitis disease. Vasculitis can cause damage to the tissues and organs that are vascularized. So far, the heterogeneous pathophysiology and clinical manifestations of the disease have been well understood. Although therapy with glucocorticoids is effective for disease remission, complications that often occur earlier in patients can fail the therapy. Therefore, a more effective method for accurate diagnosis is needed as a patient management approach. A more detailed and interrelated understanding of the disease will further encourage the improvement of the quality of the medical procedures so that it is expected to improve the patient’s prognosis. This literature review aimed to explain detail started from the prevalence of vasculitis cases, followed by the underlying risk factors and the development of effective diagnostic and management flows to date. The method of this literature review was searching for articles from various databases in PubMed, Google Scholar, and the Google search engine. Based on various literature obtained, each classification of vasculitis has unique characteristics including the type of inflammation that occurs and the onset of the disease that differs for each age group. The diagnostic flow still starts from anamnesis to the use of imaging and laboratory examinations and the application of criteria for a definitive diagnosis. Further management is differentiated based on the type of vasculitis, treatment phase, and response to therapy. Further studies are needed, especially in determining the reference values of laboratory examinations used for diagnosis, determining the dose of therapy, and efforts to treat complications that occur. Vasculitis remains a heterogeneous autoimmune disease that requires further attention in efforts to establish a diagnosis and apply the most appropriate management to the patient’s condition.&nbsp

INHIBITION OF Asystasia gangetica ETHANOLIC EXTRACT ON Porphyromonas gingivalis AND Fusobacterium nucleatum BIOFILM FORMATION

Periodontal pathogens Porphyromonas gingivalis and Fusobacterium nucleatum develop a biofilm on the surface of the dental apex, causing inflammation in the teeth' supporting tissues. Asystasia gangetica has been observed for its analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial effect. The ethanolic extract of A. gangetica may be developed as a root canal sterilization dressing due to its benefits. This study aims to determine the inhibitory effect of ethanolic extract of A. agangetica on P. gingivalis and F. nucleatum from forming biofilm. Antibacterial activity was determined using Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion. The inhibition of biofilm formation was evaluated using microtiter plate biofilm assay with various concentrations of extract. Base on the classification of inhibition zone, ethanolic extract of A. gangetica had moderate to strong antibacterial effects on P. gingivalis at 12.5-50 mg/mL, and moderate effect on F. nucleatum at 25-50 mg/mL. Results also showed that the extract at 50 mg/mL, inhibited biofilm formation by more than 72% against P. gingivalis (p<0.05) and up to 75% against F. nucleatum (p<0.05). The value of MBIC50 was determined at 5.19 mg/mL and 7.44 mg/mL, respectively. Ethanolic extract of Asystasia gangetica has a potential inhibitory effect on P. gingivalis and F. nucleatum biofilm formation. Studies suggest more detailed approaches to a better understanding of the interactions between lead compounds and bacterial cells within the biofilm structure

Indonesia ranks fifth as the country with the highest HIV/AIDS-related death rates in the world, with 27,000 deaths in 2023. The cumulative number of people living with HIV/AIDS from 2005 to 2023 is 566,707. In 2023 alone, the number of people with HIV/AIDS reached 57,299, the highest figure since 2009. This situation is certainly concerning. Therefore, preventive efforts, treatment, and care are needed to ensure that people living with HIV (PLHIV) remain healthy. More broadly, it is hoped that the death rate due to HIV/AIDS does not rise and that the transmission does not spread further. Various preventive, treatment, and care efforts are being carried out by different parties, including NGOs and healthcare facilities (Faskes). In Indonesia, NGOs focusing on these efforts include Jaringan Indonesia Positif (JIP), and healthcare facilities that are quite focused on PLHIV include the Unit Ruang Carlo at St. Carolus Hospital in Jakarta. However, the care or counseling provided varies. In the Ruang Carlo, there is the involvement of doctors, nurses, and counselors, such as the Suster-suster Cinta Kasih St. Carolus Borromeus, while at JIP, there is only the involvement of counselors who are experts in their field, having undergone specialized counseling training and education. The treatment provided at the Ruang Carlo is referred to as holistic care or counseling, while JIP implements palliative care or counseling. The similarity between the two types of care or counseling is the role of the counselor, who performs therapeutic communication with people living with HIV (PLHIV). Therefore, this research focuses on the counselor's experience in conducting therapeutic communication, which includes the motivations behind the counseling activities, the communication experiences themselves, and the types of messages exchanged, both verbal and non-verbal

Multicollinearity is one of the problems in linear regression that can lead to unstable parameter estimates. This study aims to address multicollinearity issues in multiple linear regression models applied to poverty data in Central Java Province using the Jackknife Ridge Regression method. The data used are secondary data from the Central Java Provincial Statistics Agency for 2022-2023, with the poverty rate as the dependent variable and eight independent variables representing poverty-related factors. This research was conducted using a literature review method and data analysis with R software. The results show that the Jackknife Ridge Regression method successfully mitigates multicollinearity, producing an accurate model. The final model indicates that average years of schooling, life expectancy, labor force participation rate, human development indeks, and regional gross domestic product have a negative effect on the poverty rate. These findings highlight the importance of improving education quality, healthcare, human development, and access to basic infrastructure as key strategies for poverty alleviation in Central Java Province

Potential drug-drug interactions in elderly patients in a renal ward: a single-center retrospective study in Pakistan

Background: The increasing prevalence of kidney disease among elderly populations has led to a rise in potential drug-drug interactions (pDDIs), particularly due to widespread polypharmacy use in this demographic. Objective: This study aims to retrospectively analyze pDDIs and identify their prevalence and associated factors among elderly patients in a renal ward. Methods: This retrospective observational study was conducted at Saidu Group of Teaching Hospital in Swat, Pakistan, from January to December 2022. Data were obtained from the Patients Records Office using a conventional paper-based record system. A sample of 43 elderly patients (age ≥60 years) was selected through consecutive sampling. Drug interactions were assessed using freely available online tools: Drugs.com and Medscape Drug Checker, selected for their user-friendly accessibility and suitability in resource-limited settings. Results: Among the 43 elderly subjects with balanced gender distribution, the mean age was 66.53 ± 7.68 years. Comorbidities were present in 74.4% of patients, and each patient was prescribed an average of 4.58 medications. According to Medscape, 62.79% of patients experienced one or more potential drug interactions, while Drugs.com identified interactions in 67.44% of cases. Notably, 15% of these interactions were classified as high-risk by both tools. Logistic regression analysis indicated a significantly higher risk of potential drug interactions with increasing numbers of prescribed medications (OR = 4.515, p = 0.033). Conclusion: This study identified a high prevalence of pDDIs among elderly patients with kidney disease in Pakistan. The majority had comorbidities necessitating multiple medications, thereby increasing the risk of adverse drug reactions (ADRs). Mitigating these risks requires accurate prescribing practices, reliable electronic surveillance systems, and clinical pharmacist support

Normative Criticism of the Local Government Internal Control System Based on The Principles of State Financial Management to Realize Good Governance

The high weakness of the Local Government Internal Control System (SPI) as identified in the 2023 Local Government Financial Report (LKPD), which shows 5,426 findings of structural, procedural and functional weaknesses. This research examines SPI normatively within the framework of the principles of state financial management, in order to assess the extent to which SPI is able to guarantee the principles of good governance which include legality, accountability, transparency, efficiency, and effectiveness. The research method is normative legal research with statutory and conceptual approaches, using qualitative analysis methods based on systematic, grammatical, and teleological interpretations as developed by Peter Mahmud Marzuki. The results show that SPI weaknesses not only have administrative impacts, but are also a form of violation of imperative legal norms governing public financial management. SPI that fails to perform the internal control function substantively has implications for systemic damage to fiscal governance and violations of constitutional principles. The novelty of this research lies in the meaning of SPI as a legal instrument guarding principles, not just an administrative tool, and its contribution in formulating a valuebased internal control model based on legal principles to build a legal, accountable and democratic regional financial system.Non-compliance by local governments with Government Accounting Standards in the 2023 Local Government Financial Report of the Supreme Audit Agency is a violation of the principles of state financial management as mandated in the legislation. This condition reflects a structural failure in the implementation of regional financial management which has implications for weak public accountability and increased risk of state losses. This research aims to critically evaluate the application of the principles of state financial management in local government financial reports to identify violations of the principles of legality, transparency, accountability, effectiveness, and efficiency and provide recommendations for improvement in accordance with the applicable legal framework. The research method used is normative legal research with a statutory approach and a conceptual approach. The result of the research is that local government non-compliance with Government Accounting Standards is a serious violation of the principles of legality, transparency, accountability, effectiveness, and efficiency as stipulated in laws and regulations, which has an impact on the decline in the integrity of financial statements and public trust. The findings of the Supreme Audit Agency on the 2023 Local Government Financial Statements include 48 entities with Unqualified Opinions and various irregularities in asset management and regional expenditures that show the need for comprehensive reform through strengthening internal control systems, increasing human resource capacity, and enforcing strict legal sanctions in order to realize good financial governance
