    No full text
Diabetic foot is a complication of diabetes mellitus, with a risk of amputation. One of the risk factors for amputation is peripheral arterial occlusive disease. Angiography is a diagnostic method used to visualize blood vessels, plan therapeutic actions, and predict prognosis, including the likelihood of amputation. The validity of angiography scores in predicting amputation in diabetic foot patients is assessed. This study is a diagnostic test to determine the validity of angiography scores in predicting amputation in 23 diabetic foot patients at Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah General Hospital. Data analysis used the Receiver Operator Curve (ROC) and diagnostic tests to obtain the Area Under the Curve (AUC), cutoff point, sensitivity and specificity, Negative Predictive Value (NPV), Positive Predictive Value (PPV), Positive Likelihood Ratio (PLR), and Negative Likelihood Ratio (NLR). The study results showed a cutoff point for angiography scores of 33% with an AUC of 0.9841 (>0.7) for the percent score and a cutoff point of 6 with an AUC of 0.9960 for the total score (>0.7). The sensitivity and specificity of the angiography scores were very good for predicting amputation in diabetic foot, at 92.9% and 88.9% (CI 95%), respectively. With PPV of 92.9% and NPV of 88.9%, the diagnostic value of angiography scores in predicting amputation in diabetic foot patients is supported. This study shows that angiography scores have good validity in predicting amputation in diabetic foot patients

However, the implementation of the transfer of rights based on the sale and purchase of agricultural land, with the implementation of the E-KTP, was not carried out perfectly. This research aims to examine the implementation of the absentee sale and purchase of agricultural land rights using E-KTP in Bangli Regency. The research method used is empirical legal research and the research locations were held in Bangli Regency, PPAT and the Bangli Regency Land Office. The results of this research showed that the implementation of an E-KTP nationally, still cannot overcome the ownership of agricultural land in Bangli Regency by people who have addresses outside the Bangli Regency sub-district and still carry out the process of changing addresses so as not to cause absentees

The results of the industrial competitiveness analysis show that condition factors provide the highest contribution to the competitiveness of the exhaust industry compared to other indicators. Urgency-performance analysis shows that 5 out of 10 sub-factors driving competitiveness have underact status. The strategy to increase industrial competitiveness focuses on competitiveness sub-factors with “under act†status. These strategies include: 1) Providing better business development systems and services, 2) Developing business capacity, and 3) Expanding industrial cooperation

    No full text
This study aimed at addressing advertisement, which is one of the topics we deal with on a daily basis. Advertising today has affected many aspects of human life. The importance of the discourse of advertising and its prominent role in daily life has caused this phenomenon to be considered by researchers. This paper, with reference to the Systemic Functional Multimodal approach, examines the nature of connections that can occur between texts and images in English and Persian advertisements, whether to advertise products or to promote ideas in the form of posters. The main objective of this study is to compare image-text relations in Persian and English advertisements in terms of logico-semantic relations, namely: Elaboration, extension, Enhancement, and projection. The analysis of a sample of thirty English and thirty Persian advertisements manifests the employment of all four logico-semantic relations in the composition of English advertisements. Elaboration, ranking first in English advertisements, has been used in more than fifty percent of cases; other fifty percent illustrates extension, Enhancement, and projection. Projection is the least frequently used logico-semantic relation in English advertisements. However, in Persian advertisements, image-text connection was limited to Elaboration which is identified in all Persian advertisements of the present study. The analysis revealed diversity and more creativity in image-text combinations in English advertisements in comparison to Persian ones. A better understanding of the inter-semiotic relationships between visual and verbal modes helps designers of advertisements and other multimodal texts to make the most of the potential in this field and thus have innovative designs

This article examines a social semiotic analysis of selected basic pupils’ English textbooks in Awka metropolis. Considering the fact that textbooks are necessary tools in the classroom for both teachers and students, it is pertinent to note that without the provision of required texts, teaching and learning of the English language in our schools will be handicapped. Texts in the textbooks for instruction in nearly all levels of education most often occur in combination with images or pictures, which, in essence, depict the multimodal nature of our basic pupils’ English language textbooks. In examining how these multiple modes interplay and serve as unified modes, this study relies on the notions of social semiotics (Halliday, 1978; Kress, 2012) and multimodality (Kress and van Leeuwen, 2006, 2020). Data for the study, consisting of sixteen figures, were obtained from six selected primary school English textbooks. Findings from the study show that textbook designers employ several meaning-making resources to present pupils with concrete and familiar concepts that they can easily relate to. The study contributes to research on language teaching and pedagogy in its approach to applying visuals to teaching English. The study also serves as a resource for teachers and pupils of English. The finding of this study also adds to studies on social semiotics in its incorporation of meaning-making resources in the teaching and learning of the English language by basic pupils. Keywords: Visual representation, multimodality, basic schools, English textbooks, text-image relations, social semiotics, multimodality, Awka metropoli

This study was conducted to evaluate the acaricidal effect of Neem Tree Leaf Extract (Azadirachta indica) using varying levels of concentrations at different lengths of exposure and to compare its efficacy with Organophosphate. The Experiment was laid out in Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments, replicated three times. The treatments evaluated were as follows: T1 – Organophosphate (Control); T2 – 25% Neem Tree Leaf Extract; T3 – 50% Neem Tree Leaf Extract; T4 – 75% Neem Tree Leaf Extract; and T5 – 100% Neem Tree Leaf Extract. Filter papers were dipped with the extracts and matted in petridishes. The ticks were placed in the treated filter papers with corresponding levels of Neem Tree Leaf Extract. There were three observations (60, 90 and 120 minutes) used to determine the effect and the killing duration of the extract. All the levels of the Neem tree leaf extract concentration used could kill ticks of cattle, however, the killing depends upon the level of concentrations and the duration of exposure. At higher concentrations, it was proven that the killing effect of the Neem tree leaf extract to adult ticks were faster than the extract at lower concentration. Based on the result of the study, the use of Organophosphate (control) was statistically similar to that of 100 percent Neem tree leaf extract in killing ticks at a maximum length of one hundred twenty minutes exposure
