    COMPARISON OF PROPRIOCEPTION PERCEPTION TEST BETWEEN GOLFER AND NON-GOLFER USING TILTING PLATFORM

    The purpose of this study was to test proprioception perception and compare between collegiate golfers and non-golfers using tilting platform. Sixteen male and fourteen female golfers and fifteen male and thirteen non-golfers were participated. All participants were performed perception test on the tilting platform. Frequency analysis and independent t-test were performed using SPSS 24.0. Alpha set at .05. Most participants were perceived from 1° to 2° of slopes and perceived left-right (target direction) slope than forward-backward slope. Repeated practice such as walking on the uneven ground or standing on sloped ground might help to improve proprioception perception. Further research using a tilting platform will be to develop the training program

    BIOMECHANICS OF STATIONARY EXERCISE IN OVERWEIGHT AND NORMAL-WEIGHT CHILDREN

    The purpose of this study was to examine the differences in lower extremity kinematics and muscle activation patterns in normal weight and overweight children during stationary exercises at submaximal intensity. Twenty-five children (10-13 years) were recruited and classified as overweight (OW) and normal-weight (NW). Electromyography, the ratings of perceived exertion (RPE) and range of motion (ROM) of lower extremity joints were collected during stationary exercises. ANOVAs compared muscle activation, ROM and RPE between groups, and exercises. Compared to NW, OW experienced significantly greater RPE and muscle amplitude in all muscles apart from VL during stationary exercises. Children with greater mass adopt a more active neuromuscular strategy in order to provide greater stability and propulsion during stationary exercises

    THE EFFECTS OF CORE STABILITY TRAINING ON THE FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT SCREEN AND POSTURAL STABILITY IN COLLEGIATE STUDENTS

    This study evaluated effects of core stability training (CST) on the functional movement screen (FMS) and postural stability (PS) in healthy young collegiate students. 28 healthy collegiate female students were assigned to an experimental (CST exercises twice a week for six weeks) or control group (equal time of warm-up and stretching exercises only). The CST combined Pilates and Swiss ball exercise for fifty minutes, twice per week, for six weeks. FMS scores were evaluated by a certified professional. The PS was evaluated by the 8-direction limits of stability (LOS) test using the Biodex Balance System. Repeated measures analyses of variance (ANOVAs) revealed the FMS and LOS performances in the experiment group were significantly improved after training. It was concluded that regular CST can improve the performance of FMS and dynamic postural stability in healthy young students

    BACK MUSCLE FATIGUE MIGHT LEAD TO ALTERNATED SPINE LOADING IN RECREATIONAL ERGOMETER ROWING

    The purpose of this study was to investigate fatigue related changes in spinal kinematics and muscle activity of back muscles during a 2000 m all-out performance on a rowing ergometer. Kinematic data of the trunk and EMG data of eight back muscles were recorded for ten subjects. A novel approach analyzing the spinal curvature was utilized identifying a significant increase (p \u3c 0.05) for the thoracic spine. For the M. trapezius a significantly decreased mean frequency (p \u3c 0.05) was found. The lumbar spine and the M. erector spinae showed no significant changes (p \u3e 0.05). These results contrast with findings for elite rowers which might be explained by a different rowing technique. Increased spinal curvature is a factor for injury risk. Thus, rowing programs should include monitoring of spinal curvature and strengthening of the stabilizing muscles

    The purpose of this study was to determine if a wearable neuromuscular device (WND) was successful in reducing knee valgus angle (VA), and increasing electromyography (EMG) activity of the gluteus maximus (Gmax), gluteus medius (GMed), medial hamstrings (junction of the semimembranosis and semitendinosis), and vastus medialis oblique (VMO) in female collegiate soccer players during a countermovement jump (CMJ). 15 female soccer players, were recruited to partake in a 6 week study. Over the intervention period, the intervention group (n=8) wore a WND, during active rest. It was hypothesized that the WND group would display a decreased VA and increase in EMG activity of the 4 muscles, during a CMJ, when compared to the control group (n=7).     RELIABILITY OF THE EVALUATION OF HUMANOID ANIMATION AS A VISUALIZING TOOL IN HIP-HOP DANCE

    The purpose of this study was to determine the reliability of the evaluation the humanoid animation by comparing the intra and inter-rater reliability between humanoid animation and stick figure animation of hip-hop dance. The humanoid animation and the stick figure animation were created using motion capture data from 16 hip-hop dancers. Five judges were asked to evaluate the 32 dance trials and they were not informed that they were repeating an evaluation. The intra-class correlation coefficient of the humanoid animation demonstrated very high reliability and was higher than the stick figure animation. There was no difference between the animations in the inter-class correlation coefficient. Humanoid animation may provide a more reliable method for the evaluation of dance movements as a feedback tool

    The purpose of this study was to analyze the techniques of 132 Chinese male weightlifters competing at the 2015 China Weightlifting Championships, and to examine the differences of maximum bar height (MbH) and relative MbH (MbH/body height) among the all 8 weight classes. All attempts were recorded with the Real-Time Feedback System during the competition, and 115 snatch and 132 clean & jerk successful attempts with heaviest loads were choose to be studied. The statistical results show the relative MbHs for clean and jerk are 59.5% and 94.3% respectively, while in snatch the relative MbHs are 71.8%, 73.9%and 76.6% for 56 - 94, 105 and 105+ weight classes differently; the relative MbH (72.0%) of elite group (n=48) is lower than that (73.2%) of normal group (n=67) in snatch (p\u3c0.05)

    RELATION BETWEEN RELEASE PARAMETERS AND THROWING DISTANCE OF THE JAVELIN THROW

    The present study was clarified a three-dimensional examination of the relation between the release parameters and throwing distances, in order to understand the initial flight characteristics of javelins. The subjects were 57 right-handed javelin throwers. The measured throwing distances ranged from 45.25 m to 87.17 m. The elite throwers had tendency to significant positive correlation between theoretical distance and initial velocity of javelin release. Throwers who achieved throwing distances of over 70m were observed to have throwing distances that were shorter than their theoretical distances, while those whose throwing distances were under 70 m group had throwing distances that were longer than their theoretical distances. When the data were applied to initial velocity of javelin release, it was equivalent to 26 m/s

    INVESTIGATING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MOVEMENT VARIABILITY, SKILL ACQUISITION AND ADAPTABILITY

    Facilitating adaptability is a role attributed to movement variability. The aim of this investigation was to track changes in movement variability during the learning of a novel task where adaptability was expected to be present. A contextual interference design was implemented with sample entropy and vector coding used to quantify joint and coordination variability respectively. Those exposed to high contextual interference were significantly better performed and more adaptable. Significant decreases in coordination variability were found during the learning process for all participants. The more adaptable group also exhibited higher coordination variability at key points providing some support for previous hypotheses on the interaction between, skill acquisition and adaptability. Results have implications for practitioners working in skill acquisition
