Análise epistemológica na noção de espaço na formação docente para o ensino médio: Epistemological analysis of the notion of space in teacher training for secondary education

    No full text
&nbsp

Diel Patterns Hold Promise as an Ecological Trait for Ants

    Get PDF
Ecological traits have flourished in insect-based studies, resulting in a substantial and growing list of measurable traits. One trait that will likely become more attractive as data quality and curation improve is the diel patterns of insect activities. Diel patterns in ants can help better understand vital ecological processes such as competition and invasion biology. Because diel activity has the potential to be an informative trait in ants, we assessed the diel designations of foraging ants across the literature to quantify and assess the variation and sampling extent of this particular trait. We collected diel designations from 104 peer-reviewed scientific articles and quantified these data across important and documented ecological traits. We found that a disproportionate amount of solitary foraging ants were primarily diurnal foragers relative to ants that cooperatively forage. Our data show that diel patterns in foraging vary widely within and across ant genera. Importantly, we highlight the undersampling of this crucial ecological trait, which currently limits its utility. Our efforts highlight the importance of assessing an ecologically important trait’s landscape of reported data

Intestinal Bacteria Aid Termites in Response to Entomopathogen Infection According to the Metagenome and Meta-transcriptome

Intestinal symbionts live in insects’ digestive systems and help with food digestion, nitrogen cycling, and energy use. Numerous symbionts, including bacteria, fungi, and protozoa, colonize the posterior gut of termites. Intestinal microbiota affects the Toll or Imd pathways during viral or entomopathogenic fungus infection in mosquitoes, but the role of intestinal symbionts in individual termite immunity is unclear. In the present research, Odontotermes formosanus and Metarhizium robertsii were selected to investigate the potential mechanism of the intestinal bacteria influencing termite innate immune while encountering an entomopathogen using metagenome sequencing and meta-transcriptome sequencing. We found that termite mortality declined within 48 hours under high spore infections and reached semi-lethal status within 72 hours. We sequenced the control and infestation termite and found that the dominant phyla changed below low-abundance flora during infestation. According to function annotation, the functions of spirochetes are significantly different from those of the rest of the phyla, which are mainly enriched in metabolism and cellular processes. There are 261 upregulated and 459 down-regulated DEGs derived from bacteria after infestation. We identified the glutamate-cysteine ligase gene, gshA, which is significantly upregulated in the infected group, and the GSH content in the regular infected group was higher than the 5% kanamycin-infected group. We speculated on a potential mechanism that one or more bacteria belonging to Spirochetes that upregulated gshA gene expression and increased GSH content in the hindgut to integrate with metarhizium toxins and then excrete out of the intestine

What Makes Them Masters of Survival? Unraveling the Intricacies of Adaptive Thrive of Tetragonula iridipennis Smith in the Dynamic Ecosystems of Tamil Nadu, India

Stingless bees (Hymenoptera: Apidae), commonly called ‘Dammar bees in India,’ inhabit concealed environments across various ecosystems. They possess significant ecological importance as ‘Keystone Pollinators’, contributing crucially to the pollination of diverse flowering plants. Increased attention is being given to the patterning aspects of nests in nature. Our investigation into this occurrence within human-inhabited environments is characterized by repeated spatio-temporal patterns. Various criteria, including habitat preference, nesting pattern, orientations, elevation, and nest architecture, were chosen to assess the preferences of an indigenous stingless bee, Tetragonula iridipennis Smith, at 30 different locations in Tamil Nadu, India. Most colonies inhabited walls (50.0%), followed by tree trunks (33.33%). The maximum height of nest entrances from ground level, a significant parameter for adaptive defense patterns, ranged from 1.3 m to 2.98 m. Additionally, the circumference of nest entrances varied from 1.29 cm to 2.45 cm. The length of the external tube ranged from 1.1 cm to 3.24 cm, playing a crucial role in defense by presenting a thin layer of mud capping to prevent the entry of intruders. Bees can effectively thwart threats and predators Through complex nesting architecture, including resin and mud coating, pillar-like batumen structures, waxy solid buildings, and multiple nest entrances. Thus, the population and their colony propagation could be sustained

(In)submissão feminina nas narrativas de Judith Teixeira

    Get PDF

    A FABULOUS WORLD: VILÉM FLUSSER

    Get PDF
“Um mundo fabuloso” (“A Fabulous World”) is one of Flusser’s earliest articles, published on November 28, 1964, in the literary supplement of the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo. In it, with exact fantasy, an octopus, a tapeworm, and a human fetus address the reader on their superiority over the others, exploring the friction between Darwinian and Freudian theories. If Flusser resorts to the tradition of the fable, it is only to point to the fact that we cannot go back to the times of La Fontaine or those even more primitive times of cavemen and their hunt stories around the bonfires, for the fables of our times are scientific. The essay can be considered seminal because in it Flusser already plays with the characteristic perspectivism of his philosophical fiction, and because later the philosopher will dedicate individual texts to each of the three animals. The octopus will be the main subject of Vampyroteuthis infernalis (FLUSSER; BEC, 2011), in which Flusser claimed to have done “fictional science”, and the others turn into protagonists of two of the “scenarios for the future” from Angenommen, or What If? (FLUSSER, 2022)

This article aims to present an analysis of a Portuguese Language Textbook from the fifth year of elementary school, showing the adequacies and inadequacies of this teaching material for the formation of the literary reader. The data presented here are excerpts from a doctoral thesis in Education. The analysis was based on the assumptions of the Philosophy of Language and authors who understand the act of reading as a dialogic process. It is concluded that although the Textbook is composed of a diversity of literary textual genres, most of them presented in full, which is a positive factor of the analyzed material, the questions posed by the organizers of the work did not contribute to the apprehension of the aesthetic quality of the book. text and in some sections the texts were used as pretexts for linguistic studyEste artigo tem o objetivo de analisar as adequações e inadequações da escolarização da Literatura Infantil em um Livro Didático do quinto ano do Ensino Fundamental.

This article undertakes an analysis of the self-representation of black women in the novel Úrsula, authored by Maria Firmina dos Reis, from Maranhão, in the 19th century. It aimed to answer the following problem: how does the black woman represent herself in Úrsula? Therefore, we sought to contemplate some historical and social aspects concerning the condition of female blackness in the country in the context in which the work is inserted, in addition to identifying the forms of silencing or disruption of this, by the black woman in the referred work, as well as analyzing the afro-feminine look present in the narrative emphasizing self-representation as a way of transgressing the imposed silencing. This is a bibliographic work, which adopted a qualitative approach and thematic analysis of a literary work that serves the initial theoretical purposes, relying on authors such as Reis (2018), Duarte (2018-2019), Evaristo (2005-2013 ). Gonzalez (2020) and Orlandi (2007). The results indicate that the silencing of the black female being is based on the triad of sex, race and class, especially the first two. That is, by the slavery, patriarchal institutions and even the social dynamics which, together, delegated to the black woman a place of non-speaking, transgressed, however, by the enunciative voice of the character Susana, a black woman, and the voice that narrates the story. history. By doing so, a new literary practice is marked: that of self-representation. This in turn committed to a political bias and to the rescue of the memory and real history of the black people, in order to rebuild or reaffirm their cultural identity. Keywords: Literature. Self-representation. Black woman. Muting. Mulher negra. Silenciamento

A FIGURAÇÃO DA BEBIDA ALCOÓLICA NA OBRA DE TENNESSEE WILLIAMS: MARCAÇÃO SOCIAL, CARACTERIZAÇÃO DE PERSONAGEM E DESLOCAMENTO DO REALISMO

The article examines how Tennessee Williams' work portrays characters considered outsiders in American society due to their use of alcoholic beverages. Characters from various plays spanning different phases of his career, both one-acts and full-length works, are identified in this situation, contextualizing their narratives. The study seeks to understand how the use of alcohol identifies these characters as excluded and displaced from society, considering, above all, Linda Dorff’s (1997) concept of character disfigurement, revealing their psychosocial characterization and challenging realism in Williams’ play. In this way, it can be said that Williams constructs these characters to discuss the American Way of Life and the American Dream as capitalist ideologies, presenting characters who are detached from these ideologies.O artigo analisa como a obra de Tennessee Williams figura personagens considerados outsiders na sociedade estadunidense em função do uso de bebidas alcoólicas.

The study aims to problematize how school management can contribute to the diffusion of Libras and deaf culture. For that, it goes through the following objectives: a) to define school management, b) to clarify the relationship between school management and Libras and c) to elucidate how this relationship build senses with the struggle of the deaf movement. The production has a qualitative nature, based on bibliographic research and is based on theoretical references that cover both educational and school management (DOURADO, 2003; LIBÂNEO, 2009; LUCK, 2010), regarding the discussion around Libras (QUADROS, 2020; STREIECHEN, 2017, 2020; STROBEL, 2014), in addition to central legislation for the debate, such as the Constitution of the Federative Republic of Brazil of 1988, and the LBD (The Bases and Guidelines National Law) n°9394/96, among others. The article comprehends that, based on a perspective that contemplates the deaf movement agenda, school management assumes a facilitator role on the reach of its goals, since it is the school organization articulator.O estudo busca problematizar como a gestão escolar pode contribuir para a difusão da Libras e da cultura surda.
