ἀρνόν en PGurob 22 y el empleo del término ἀρνίον en los papiros documentales
In this paper we propose a new interpretation of the irregular form αρνον, documented in PGurob 22. This word is a graphic variant of the nominative ἀρνίον. This identity gives rise to the study of the semantic value of the word in the documental papyri, connected with the basic names for ‘lamb’ in ancient Greek. No disponibl

La forma pronominal latina ipse: su origen
In opposition to those interpretations which consider the element -pse of the pronoun ipse as an emphatic particle with little regard for the question of its origin, and those others which see a particular semantic value in this particle, the author of this article suggests that the pronominal form ipse is the result of a generalization of -pse to the whole pronominal paradigm beginning with eumpse. This pronoun is characterized by an exclusively emphatic function, where the presence of an epenthetic p in the sequence *eum-se > eumpse is phonetically legitimised. No disponibl
La acies de la Aulularia plautina
Plautus frequently reflects on the social and political structures of Roman life. Consequently, many passages in his palliatae are found to reveal his love of the Roman army, because during his time, spectators liked very much to see soldiers on the scene and to listen to military language. So, Plautus’ concern with the army —soldiers, arms, salaries, military tactics, etc.— is apparent throughout his comical plays. Our aim in this paper is to demonstrate how Plautus satirizes that vice of rich Roman married women —to spend a great deal of money on clothes, shoes, etc.— in a military way. At the same time, an attempt is made to arrive at a method of study of Plautus’ plays that determines the real meaning of his words. No disponibl
Coincidencias estético-literarias en la obra de Cicerón y Horacio
The new contributions this article makes arise, firstly, from the nature of its approach. The author does not restrict its scope to the collatio between a specific work by Cicero and another by Horace, as was customary, but reveals some aesthetic coincidences not appreciated to date. Secondly, the author, using as a base the aforesaid coincidences between Cicero and Horace. offers not only new interpretations on Horace’s defined aesthetic criteria, but also an acknowledgement of some Horacian literary principles, which have not been previously thoroughly explained or even questioned by modern scholars. No disponibl
Nueva lectura de una defixio de Selinunte (SEG XXVII 1115)
In 1976 A. Brugnone published a series of defixiones from Selinous that she herself dated as far back as the sixth century B. C., establishing them as the most ancient series of curses known. In this article we try to correct the reading of one of them because we consider that it does not follow the Dorian dialect in which it was written. We offer a new version that is also supported by some parallelism with existing similar texts. No disponibl
A study of the psychic term νόος in the Greek lyric poets (excluding Pindar and Βacchylides)
The psychic term νόος in the lyric poets, as in Homer, Hesiod, and the Homeric Hymns, seems best described as a ‘faculty capable of a number of psychological activities’. It functions as a seal of disposition, temperament, and character. Moral traits in particular are associated with it. Νόος, in others, especially reflects their true attitudes and thoughts. In this psychic entity an individual finds himself most authentically expressed. No disponibl
