Notas lexicográficas sobre una lista de compuestos griegos en literatura rabínica (siglos I d.C.-XI d.C.)

    No full text
The first part of this article deals with the study of the new compounds in Greek and Latin words in rabbinical literature listed in Krauss’ Grammar (1898). The new compounds are catalogued according their grammatical and syntactic functions and their meaning in the light of philological research in the last century. The second part of this paper centres on a comparative study of the construction dynamics of these compounds which may introduce new elements from Semitic languages (Hebrew/Aramaic), and compound formation in classical and modern Greek. No disponibl

    Hesiod, Fr. 24 MW

The text of the Fragment is easy to restore, if one does account for the late pronunciation of the Greek language: η as i, υ as i, θ and δ as (engl.) th resp. «dh». Instead of the impossibility of two fathers of Helen emerges the reading 'Ωκεανοῦ καὶ Τηθὐος (viz. Didhios > Dhios), the first generating couple according lo old tradition (Homer and «Orpheus»).No disponibl

Variantes textuales en una cita homérica de Licurgo: Ilíada XV 494-499 en Contra Leócrates 103

    No full text
The text of some Homeric quotations frequently differs from that of our manuscripts. Two explanations may be brought forward in connection to this: a) the ancient authors made mistakes because they quoted the text from memory, and b) due to the performances of the rhapsodes, the Homeric text had more than one reading in the prealexandrine period, so that the authors could turn to different sources. In Against Leocrates 103, Licurgus quotes Il. XV 494-499 with three (perhaps four) variants. The scholars are inclined lo lend more credibility to the first explanation. Nevertheless, this article holds the view, as closer to reality, that Lycurgus quoted his own Iliad, whose text would differ from others that were in circulation at that time.No disponibl

    No full text
The purpose of this paper is to point to the fact that it is possible to find a very sensitive literary criticism in neoplatonists. The attention of the authoress focuses on the Anonymous Prolegomena ad Platonis philosophiam. The treatise includes a complete approach to platonic dialogues where there are ideas as suggestive as the relations between author-book-reader.No disponibl

    No full text
Got. hwaiwa / Ohg. hwēo are originally compounds of *KṷéH1 + *H2eiṷéH1 and *KṷéH1 + *H2éiṷi ‘how ever?’ respectively. The first member of these compounds is part of a system reconstructed here as *Kṷē(i) [*KṷeH1-i, *KṷeH1i] - *Kṷō(u) [*KṷeH3-u, *KṷeH3ṷ], which appears in Germ. interrogative model adverbs. The second member consist of two lengthened forms of the root *H2eiṷ- ‘(life)-time’ and has cognates in Germ. and Greek. So, *H2eiṷéH1 > Got. -aiwa, Oic. aeva, Ags. āwa, Gr. tar. αἰἡ, lac. ἀἡ, and *H2éiṷi > Got. aiw, Oic. ae, ey, Ohg. -ēo, Gr. eol. ἀίϊ.No disponibl

El formante -n y el origen de la flexión heteroclítica del indoeuropeo

    No full text
The author, based on the recent bibliography and on the existence of the heteroclisis of the type -pl-n on Etruscan (which he understands as an Indoeuropean language), gives new proposals on this subject. He thinks that the three types of heteroclisis are old: -pl-n, -rl -n, -rl -p. Within them -n is not a connecter. They are traces of an attempt of creating a nominal flexion opposing two themes and with a wider value than the cases. These cases are a new formalization of the flexion, where the desinences are added whether to the theme itself or to the different themes of the heteroclite flexion. No disponibl
