The frontier between reality and fiction in the contemporary audio[visual] adaptation: AI, podcast and ludism in the post-truth age
This oscillation between truthful and fake finds its obvious manifestations in the audiovisual medium, while the most proliferate and profitable due to the platforms’ explosion. This essay aims to observe the depicted phenomenon in three-type production and its different adaptations to another media or mo-dalities: those in whose AI employ has left a print in the final creation type and its truth aesthetic, the oral creations such as podcast that gave life to a whole popular genre that overwhelms television and streaming and those affected by gamification processes derived from videogame’s influence
Fuzzy algorithms for water treatment control in rural areas of Peru with scarce water resources
20th Iberian Conference on Information Systems and Technologies (CISTI) - Iberian Proceedings of CISTI 2025, 16/06/2025-19/06/2025, Lisboa, Portugal. This study presents a pH control strategy for water
treatment systems in rural areas of Peru, utilizing fuzzy logic algorithms.
The objective is to mitigate the adverse effects of elevated
pH levels, which can pose risks to both human health and the environment.
A control system was implemented in a pilot plant using
pH sensors and a PLC controller, with testing carried out across
three control approaches: PID, Fuzzy Logic (FL), and a hybrid
PID-FL configuration. The results demonstrate that the hybrid
approach provides a more robust and stable response to system
disturbances. This solution offers a viable, low-cost alternative for
regions with limited water resources
The communicative process of AI-generated literary and narrative works: author function, reader function and fictional world
This paper studies the communicative process of texts generated by artificial intelligence from three elements: author, reader, and fictional world. The methodology consists of the following parts: first, a general analysis of generative artificial intelligence based on its characteristics and its socio-temporal context; second, the proposal of a communicative process based on traditional systems (i.e., Jakobson, Doležel, and Fabelo Corzo) consisting of three elements: the author function, which is divided into three roles (creative author, virtual author, and programmer author), and the reader function, which is divided into two roles (creator reader and external reader), both conditioned by a fictional world based on cyber-intertextuality. In conclusion, this essay points to collaborative authorship that aims to hide behind a false illusion of single authorship, as well as an increase in the reader’s responsibility beyond the usual prosumer or the opacity in the creation of the fictional world

The main objective in this project is the evaluation of simultaneous location and mapping (SLAM) algorithms using ROS2 platform, which is widely used for software development in robotic systems. To achieve this goal, a powerful physics simulator such as gazebo classic will be utilized, where a model of a real robot equipped with a LiDAR sensor will be placed in an indoor environment designed to test mapping accuracy through the overlap and optimization of point clouds. The Rviz2 visualization tool will be used to analyse the resulting maps and test various outdoor real scenarios with data acquired from a Velodyne VLP-16 sensor. To achieve this objetctive, the official ROS 2 documentation tutorials will be followed to acquire the necessary knowledge for the development of the project and the use of public repositories where the algorithms and other supporting packages are implemented.Grado en Ingeniería en Electrónica y Automática Industria
Foreign Investment and the Development of the Stock Market in Spain (1961-2007)
This article reconstructs the dynamics of foreign investment in the Spanish stock market between 1961 and 2007, exploring a less explored dimension of financial globalisation and market modernisation in Spain. By building a novel database, it analyses investment trends by sectors, companies, countries of origin, and types of investors, offering a detailed view of the evolution of foreign capital during Spain's reintegration into the global economy. The results highlight the concentration of foreign investment in banking and energy, its increasing focus on a small number of companies, and the key role of economic partners such as the United Kingdom. By tracing the phases of the stock market?s internationalisation, the paper reveals the significant presence of foreign capital in the 1960s and its resurgence following European integration
Forest structural diversity modulates tree growth synchrony in response to climate change
9 p.Following centuries of deforestation, many industrialized countries have experienced an increase in forest area and biomass due to changes in land- and forest-use since the mid-20th century. At the same time, the impacts of climate change on forests are aggravating, but the interplay between past land- and forest-use (i.e. land- and forest-use legacies) and climate change in tree growth remains elusive. Tree growth synchrony, defined as the coincident increase in annual tree growth between different tree individuals over time, represents a comprehensive ecological measure of the level of environmental stress faced by forests, and consequently, can assess forest vulnerability to global change. Here using network theory and generalized linear mixed models, we tested whether tree size heterogeneity, resulting from different land- and forest-use legacies (i.e. recently-established, long-established, recently-pruned pollards and old-pruned pollards), modulated tree growth synchrony in response to heatwaves frequency synchrony between 1970 and 2020. We analyzed tree growth data from European beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) stands with different histories of forest management at the species? low-latitude margin. We found increased tree growth synchrony under more frequent heatwaves and late spring frosts, and reduced precipitation. Interestingly, tree growth synchrony in response to heatwave frequency was modulated by tree size heterogeneity, with the highest synchrony observed in stands with low tree size heterogeneity, mainly found in recently-established forests. Conversely, stands with high tree size heterogeneity did not show important changes in synchrony with increasing heatwaves frequency. Our results highlight the importance of maintaining structurally diverse forests to mitigate the negative effects of climate change on forest productivity, and thereby, increase forest resilience to future forest climate risks.Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y UniversidadesAgencia Estatal de Investigación (AEI)Gobierno VascoComunidad de MadridUniversidad de Alcal

Dynamic Low-Emission Zones for Urban Mobility: A Systematic Review
Urban air pollution, particularly from vehicular emissions, poses a significant challenge to public health and environmental sustainability. Low-Emission Zones (LEZs) have emerged as a solution, reducing pollution in high-traffic areas by restricting access to high-emission vehicles. However, most LEZ implementations are static, failing to account for real-time changes in traffic and emissions. This review focuses on dynamic LEZ systems, which are adjusted based on real-time data to optimize emission reduction without disrupting traffic flow. By categorizing LEZ strategies into static, hybrid, and dynamic systems, this study highlights key case studies and technologies, such as traffic simulation tools and sensor networks, that enable these adaptive systems. The review also discusses the challenges and future opportunities in LEZ implementation, emphasizing the need for data-driven approaches to achieve both environmental and mobility goals. This study aims to provide insights for policymakers and researchers seeking to enhance urban air quality management through more flexible, efficient LEZ strategies
