Study on the “Social-Psychological” Mechanism of Farmers from Environmental Resistance to Collective Silence
Based on the relevant research results of academic circles and the case data of farmers’ environmental resistance in 8 villages in Guangdong Province, Anhui Province and Shaanxi Province, this paper analyzes the causes, initiators, subjects, methods and failure results of farmers’ environmental resistance. The study found that farmers’ environmental resistance is generally affected by environmental rights awareness, health risk concerns, economic interest needs, inner dissatisfaction and considerations of the continuation of village lineage, but it is different from place to place. The initiators of farmers’ environmental struggle are mainly middle-aged men or the elderly, and the main body is the elderly and women; the main ways are self-relief for environmental protection, seeking help from the media and environmental letters and visits. Generally speaking, the environmental resistance of these farmers has failed. The combined effect of the three “social-psychological” mechanisms of violent punishment, persuasive discipline and imitative obedience has led to the transformation of farmers from environmental resistance to collective silence to a great extent
Construction of Trust Relationship between Doctors and Patients: A Social Psychological Analysis
Doctor-patient trust is the basis of harmonious doctor-patient relationship. Social psychology plays a unique role in interpreting the connotation and construction of doctor-patient trust relationship. From the two levels of doctor-patient interpersonal trust and intergroup trust, this paper summarizes the relevant theoretical viewpoints of social psychology on the construction of doctor-patient trust relationship, and analyzes the key factors affecting doctor-patient interpersonal trust and intergroup trust. On this basis, this paper puts forward the construction path of doctor-patient trust of “interpersonal interaction-emotional communication-interpersonal trust” and “intergroup interaction-social knowledge-intergroup trust”, reveals the interaction mechanism of interpersonal trust and intergroup trust and the circular feedback mechanism between them to promote the formation of doctor-patient trust relationship, and establishes a social psychology model of the formation mechanism of doctor-patient trust relationship
An Examination of Intimate Partner Violence and Sexual Violence Among Individuals Who Identify As Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, And/or Transgender (LBGTQ)
A systematic review of literature published from 2006 to 2017 was conducted in order to examine intimate partner violence and sexual violence perpetrated against those individuals who identified as lesbian, bi-sexual, gay, and/or transgender (LBGT) and the challenges they faced from identifying as an LBGT individual. Results of the literature findings indicated that LBGT individuals are exposed to childhood sexual abuse, adult sexual assaults, intimate partner violence and hate crimes at significantly higher rates when compared to the general population. The examination of the literature revealed disproportionate rates of harassment, physical assaults, sexual assaults and intimate partner violence when compared to the general population. In addition, individuals who identify as LBGT are substantially prone to internalization of their feelings, making them prone to post-traumatic stress (PTS), depression, anxiety, substance abuse and suicide. The lack of available support for the LBGT community leaves them feeling vulnerable and underserved. This research advocates for effective collaboration with social services with the aim of ensuring justice and equitable treatment for LBGT individuals
An Overview of Arc Welding Control Systems
In this paper an overview of arc welding control systems is given. At first some basic physical background of the process is given. Then the two most important subtypes Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) and Gas metal arc welding (GMAW) are presented in some detail. In order to understand the logic of feedback control systems, the most essential control theory is outlined shortly. In the overview of control systems a feedback signal is used a means of division. The analysis of recent research papers in the area has shown that recently image processing based control systems seem to be the most popular ones
Analysis of Demographic Characteristics and Psychological Factors of Opioid Addicts in Zhengzhou Area
Objective: To explore the demographic characteristics and psychological factors of patients with opioid addiction. Methods: A random number method was used to select 200 opioid-addicted patients admitted to the 7th People’s Hospital of Zhengzhou from January 2019 to February 2020. Demographic characteristics and psychosocial factors were analyzed. Result: The proportion of opioid addicts aged 21 ~ 30 was the highest; the proportion of men was significantly higher; the proportion of people who is between jobs/unemployed is the highest; the proportion of junior middle school was the highest, and the proportion of unmarried was relatively high; the proportion of opioid addicts with ignorance/curiosity for the cause of first addiction was the highest; the use of suction is snorting, accounting for the highest proportion. According to the analysis of relevant social and psychological factors, the proportion of single parent family group is the highest, the proportion of parent tension is the highest, and the proportion of bad life coping style is relatively high. At the same time, dependent psychology occupies the highest proportion in psychological factors of relapse patients. Conclusion: By analyzing the demographic characteristics of opioid addicts and the psychosocial factors of their addiction, we can strengthen prevention and management for specific groups to reduce the new addition and relapse of opioid addicts
Ethical Naturalism and the Meaning of “Good”
How to explicate the meaning of “good” is a classic philosophical question, one reason is that “good” has metaphysical properties which are difficult to interpret. The development of ethical naturalism opens a door to answer the “good” question. This theory proposes to view the moral world and the natural world as a continuum, in that the moral world is built on the basis of the natural one. This study aims to introduce a sort of reductive ethical naturalism—end-relational theory—to interpret “good” assertions. According to this theory, most “good” assertions are end-relational and thus “good” can be reduced to “end”. By doing so, metaphysical moral meaning can be converted into concretized natural meaning, and then “good” morality will not be high up above anymore.
Local pragmatics: Issues and reflection
Pragmatic effects triggered by embedded structure have caused problems to Grice’s Theory of Conversational Implicature. This long-standing view is challenged by local pragmatics proposed by Mandy Simons. As to the theoretical development, Robyn Carston, Francois Recanati, and Emma Borg respectively raise their comments, while Simons positively responds to these commentaries and further elaborates her stance. In this article, the argumentation among these scholars is presented first, and much attention is paid to the value and influence of the argumentation, which would shed light on the current debate between semantics and pragmatics
A cognitive-functional approach to utterance pairs: A critical review of dialogic construction grammar
The combination of construction grammar and dialogic syntax in cognitive linguistics facilitates a novel cognitive-functional approach to investigating dialogues, which highlights the engagement of interlocutors and aims to examine the cognitive motivation and mechanism underlying the resonances and temporary constructions in utterance pairs. Nevertheless, studies on dialogic construction grammar are scarce and unsystematic, some of which concern theoretical explanation instead of practical application with sufficient data. As a result, it is demanding to testify its explanatory force in diverse types of utterance pairs in natural language. Basically grounded on the monograph Dialogic Construction Grammar: A Theoretical Framework and Its Application, this review sorts out the development of dialogic construction grammar, and manages to presents how the Event domain-based Schema-Instance model is constructed to explore the cognitive mechanism of common types of utterance pairs, particulary, wh-question and answer pairs, namely wh-dialogues, with the intention to explain how dialogic construction grammar theory is applied to investigate the cognitive-functional properties of common utterance pairs in linguistic communication, at the same time pointing out the future work that might be done in the studies on construction grammar
Construction of Human Neuromuscular Disease-Related Gene Site-Specific Mutant Cell Line by Cas9 Mutation System
Objective: to construct human neuromuscular disease-related gene site-specific mutant cell line by Cas9 mutation system. Methods: according to the principle of CRISPR/Cas9 target design, the exon region of CXCR4 gene sequence was found in the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) of the United States. Two sgRNAs were designed. Lenticrisprv2 was used as the vector to construct the lenticrisprv2-sgrna recombinant plasmid, which was transformed into the sensitive stbl3 strain. The monoclonal sequencing was selected to verify and expand the culture of the plasmid, then it was transferred to 293T cells for packaging to a slow virus. The virus was collected and infected with 4T1 cells. The monoclonal cells were isolated and cultured by puromycin screening and limited dilution method. The genomic DNA of the selected monoclonal cells was extracted and the DNA fragment near the knockout site was amplified by PCR and sequenced. Results: one cell line had 6 deletion mutations, including DYSF mutation site of neuromuscular disease gene and HEK293T cell model knocked out by DYSF mutation site of neuromuscular disease gene. Conclusion: the recombinant plasmid targeting CXCR4 gene was obtained by CRISPR/Cas9 system, and the human neuromuscular disease-related gene site-specific mutant cell line was successfully constructed
The syntactic coercion between “N1Adv shi N2” and “S bi N1 hai N2” constructions
Though many researchers have studied “N1Adv shi N2” and “S bi N1 hai N2” constructions, none of them have done some research on the correlation between them. In view of it, this thesis analyzes the syntactic coercion of the construction “N1Adv shi N2” on the construction “S bi N1 hai N2” from the perspective of the Cognitive Construction Grammar. The findings are: the latter inherits from the former the characteristics of nouns as adjectives, generic reference of nouns, and no negation, etc., but blocks the characteristic of personal names with specific reference; the latter partially inherits from the former some characteristics of nouns, such as the nouns referring to people, but blocks the information of geographical and personal names. In addition, the metonymic thinking model link proposed in this thesis has complemented the four types of links between constructions by Goldberg.
