The purpose of this qualitative study was to explore conceptual understanding of geography teachers of Inquiry-Based Approach (IBA) for teaching Geography subject. The researcher adopted the case study research design, and the study was conducted on eleven geography teachers from four Secondary schools at Morogoro Municipality, Tanzania. The findings indicate a mixed conceptual understanding of the interviewed geography teachers on the meaning of IBA although some of them seems to experience the use IBA features in their teaching. A lesson can be drawn from this study to inform the area of teaching and teachers development in Tanzania. The study recommended that to make the most use of inquiry-based approach of teaching and learning especially in geography subject, teachers have to be updated now and then on how to effectively use it in the classroom
The 2019 Nigerian presidential elections and the resurgence of the magic bullet theory of media effect
This study examined the continued relevance of Magic Bullet Theory, also called Hypodermic Needle Theory. It adopted the applied and survey research methods. The sample had 1,265 respondents. Qualitative analytical approach was used to discuss how the Magic Bullet Theory has remained a relevant interpretative tool for assessing the behaviour of media audiences during election period. Theoretical framework was anchored on Tichenor, Donohue and Olien’s Knowledge Gap Theory. The paper argued that the impactful use of media propaganda (particularly fake news on social media) during Nigeria’s 2019 elections has demonstrated the continued relevance of the theory in media studies, especially as it was observed that members of the main competing parties and aides of election contestants used fake news on social media to influence voters’ electoral judgments. Internet-based rumours of President Muhammadu Buhari’s demise and his “Islamisation†agenda, for instance, created such great concern that his party, the All Progressive Congress, exerted much efforts during its campaigns to debunk these allegations. Findings from the study led to the conclusion that media content substantially influenced the voters’ choice on who to support; and this vividly showed in the party’s dismal electoral performance in the Christian-dominated South-East, South-South and North-Central geo-political zones
The development of leadership through islamic education: An empirical inquiry into religiosity and the styles of educational leadership experienced
The research undertaken sought to address a critical vacuity within contemporary Muslim scholarship on 'educational leadership. The empirical investigation explored the relationship between the formation of 'Religiosity' and the styles of 'Educational Leadership' as experienced by graduates of Muslim Institutes of Higher Education in the UK (MIHEUK). The study was conducted via a single case design with embedded units of analysis. The instruments utilized for data collection were the Muslim Subjectivity Interview Schedule (MSIS), Semi- Structured Interviews (SSI), and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). The data was analyzed to deduce the participants' mode of subjectivity by adopting an established criterion developed by Sahin. The study concluded that the educational leadership' styles of Muslim educators working within traditional and hybrid MIHEUK influenced modes of 'religiosity' and 'subjectivity' of Muslim students
Water quality identification based on remote sensing image in industrial waste disposal using convolutional neural networks
Measuring the quality of river water used as industrial wastewater disposal is needed to maintain water quality from pollution. The chemical industry produces hazardous waste containing toxic materials and heavy metals. At specific concentrations, industrial waste can result in bacteriological contamination and excessive nutrient load (eutrophication). Using the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), the method for measuring water quality processes remote sensing images taken via an RGB camera on an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). The parameter measured is the change in the color of the river water image caused by the chemical reaction of the heavy metal content of industrial waste disposal. The test results of the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) method in 2.01s/step obtained the value of training loss mode 17.86%, training accuracy 90.62%, validation loss 23.43%, validation accuracy 83.33%
The hybrid metaheuristic scheduling model for garment manufacturing on-demand
The latest technology milestone drives the fashion industry to implement on-demand production services. This study introduces a decision-making scheme in the manufacturing on-demand production scheduling of the garment industry using a hybrid metaheuristic model to meet consumer demand in the digital economy as quickly as possible. Then we conduct computational experiments based on the real-world case study and compare the hybrid metaheuristic method with existing approaches. The experimental results demonstrate that the hybrid metaheuristic approach can yield very efficient solutions to the scheduling problem; it can save production completion time by 22.6%; it shows promising performance compared to the existing methods
Visual semiotics in the structure of Kufic calligraphy
In the aesthetic study, semiotic interpretation is an intellectual approach to deciphering the hidden meaning of an aesthetic achievement's taste. The study's goals include comprehending the artwork's structure, which necessitates an in-depth interpretation of the language by translating it into official symbols. This research method uses a linear formation sample with semantic attributes attached to the Kufic calligraphy of artworks. The findings reveal that the emergence of geometric lines in a linear composition has a decorative abstraction that may be used to argue that the artist intended to place it there and that this is a symbol of the cosmos and its existence. This study adds to our understanding of compositional insight in Arabic calligraphy as an expressive aesthetic expression that alludes to the text in the sense of meaning that lies underneath the direct meanin
Achmad Yurianto in the frame of online journalism pioneer in Indonesia
Since the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, announced the first positive case of COVID-19 in Indonesia, the government officially created the COVID-19 Handling Task Force on March 4, 2020. The government has appointed Achmad Yurianto as the Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Handling Task Force. As a spokesperson, Achmad Yurianto conveyed the development of the status issue through the media. However, information ambiguity still arises, creating discretion and negative images of the government’s communication style. This research aims to describe how Kompas.com, Republika.co.id, and Detik.com, pioneers of online journalism in Indonesia, framed the news delivered by Achmad Yurianto. In this constructivist paradigm research, the researchers analyzed 28 news samples using the framing model of Pan and Kosicki, then related them to the theory of Social Reality Construction from Berger and Luckmann. At the syntactic structure, the researcher analyzes the facts on the news scheme in the form of headlines, leads, background information, quotes, sources, statements, closings. At the script level, the researcher analyzes the completeness of the news which includes elements of 5W+1H. Furthermore, at the thematic level, the elements of pre-paragraphs and news prepositions. Finally, the researcher looks at the emphasis on facts through grammar, idioms, pictures, graphics in the news. The results disclosed that Kompas.com, Republika.co.id, and Detik.com actively reports the development of information about COVID-19 in Indonesia, including framing the COVID-19 Task Force Handling Spokesperson, Achmad Yurianto. Kompas.com could direct public opinion to see Achmad Yurianto as an arrogant and authoritarian person. Conversely, Detik.com always framed him as a competent and proportionate person in conveying information
Antecedents of using electronic money application on technology communication during covid-19 pandemi
This paper aims to evaluate and discover the effect of perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitude, and e-money applications use. The research data comprised primary data obtained from online questionnaires, distributed to 100 respondents of e-money users selected with a purposive sampling method. Aided with AMOS analysis tools, the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was employed for the data analysis. Findings revealed that perceived ease of use had significant effects on 1) perceived usefulness, and 2) the use of e-money applications. Perceives usefulness significantly affects attitude. Attitude has significant influences on the use of e-money applications. Also, perceived fully mediates on the effect of perceived ease of use on attitude. The effect of perceived usefulness on the use of e-money applications is fully mediated by attitude as the mediator. Besides, the effect of perceived ease of use on attitude is statistically non-significant, implying that it does not mediate the effect of perceived ease of use on the use of e-money applications

Transformation of print media in the digital era: media convergence of Kedaulatan Rakyat
In Indonesia, mainstream media industries are facing numerous challenges in applying media convergence, including the media that has been established for years, such as Tempo and Pikiran Rakyat, which have experienced the hurdles and even failure in adopting media convergence. Meanwhile, Kedaulatan Rakyat, as the oldest local print media company in Indonesia, also converged and transformed its institution through media multiplatform diversification to answer the challenge of industry 4,0. The research aimed to interpret and describe the media converge conducted by Kedaulatan Rakyat. The research method used was case-study and with in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation as the data collection. The research found that Kedaulatan Rakyat tried to answer the development of technology by adopting media convergence. The convergence applied was newsroom 3.0 or integrated newsroom. However, Kedaulatan Rakyat exercised an inaccurate strategy in executing its newsroom convergence 3.0, namely by preserving conservative traditions. After abandoning newsroom convergence, Kedaulatan Rakyat performed content-sharing activity and deep and shallow strategy. However, couple with the landscape of journalism of Kedaulatan Rakyat that had not met the criteria of multi-tasking and inequality and role distribution among media, the new activities also did work optimally. In light of that, the preservation of conservation traditions in media companies should be considered as a bar of media convergence adoption
