Analysis of Japanese Long-established Companies
3842, 3776Japan has far more long-established companies than Europe, where economic
activities have been carried out since BC. Almost all companies in Europe could
not have succeeded because of the influence of historical wars and political
changes et al. In the world, Japan occupies more than 65% of long-established
companies that have been in business for over 200 years. Why are there many
long-established companies in Japan? We analyze the factors that are required
for business continuity by data from all prefectures in Japan on the family
backgrounds and employment environments. Our purpose is to discover the
local characteristics necessary for business continuity for over 100 years.journal articl
SDGs Management of Japanese Companies for Business Growth: Long-term vision and market acquisition
3785SDGs(Sustainable Development Goals)consist of 17 goals, 169 targets and 232 indicators as objectives the international community should achieve by 2030 for sustainable development. Although not legally binding, governments, including Japan, have pledged to try to achieve the SDGs. The SDGs are considered a universal common language for social issue resolution efforts up to 2030, as their scope is so broad that they apply to all countries and regions.
Although companies are not required to deal with SDGs, SDGs cannot be ignored if future corporate activities are considered, including the global value chain.
Companies are actively working on SDGs, but some companies have identified SDGs as part of their CSR(Corporate Social Responsibility). On the other hand, companies that saw SDGs as business opportunities are attracting attention, and a virtuous circle that leads to an improved image as a good company that considers the environment and society has begun to emerge.
Efforts on SDGs are required over the long term to the 2030 target year. It is expected that sustainable corporate competitiveness will be improved by incorporating SDGs into the main business while reviewing business activities and market issues from the perspective of SDGs without making it a transient
approach. Such expectations rest on the shoulders of management, and we need to work towards the formation of companies that are trusted by society.departmental bulletin pape

Kanzo Uchimura and His Time(2) ― Dispute between orthodox and liberal theology ―
3743This article deals with the dispute of Christian leaders between orthodox and liberal theology. Liberal theology was introduced into Japan between 1880 and 1890 and the members of Kumamoto Band such Michitomo Kanamori (1857-1945), Tokio Yokoi (1857-1927), and especially Danjyou Ebina (1860-1946) shifted to the new theology, while Kanzo Uchimura (1861-1930) and Masahisa Uemura (1858-1925) defended orthodox theology. The main issues of the two different theologies were the deity of Jesus Christ, the Trinity, the doctrine of atonement, biblical inerrancy, etc.
The heated controversy between orthodox and liberal theology culminated in the theological confrontation between Masahisa Uemura and Danjyo Ebina, which continued from 1901 to 1902 for almost one year.
Although Kanzo Uchimura and Masahisa Uemura agreed with orthodox theology and refuted liberal theology, they could not establish common ground because of differences in church principle.departmental bulletin pape
Student Experiments on Lactic Acid Bacteria Using Commercial Fermented Foods − Examination of methodology and practice report −
3824,2376Lactic acid bacteria heve been used for fermented food for a long time indicating a close relationship between lactic acid bacterium and humans. The bacteria are highly useful, but on the other hand, are also putrefying and
therefore a consideration in food hygiene. Knowledge and analysis of food hygiene are essential for dieticians, but experiments with microbes need exclusive facilities and apparatus. In this study, we constructed an experiment on lactic acid bacteria in a student food hygiene experiment. As a result of the research, we were able to propose two experiments on lactic acid bacteria using commercially fermented yogurt and pickles. Furthermore, we report on the experimental methods used.departmental bulletin pape
Antinatalism in the 21st Century
3700This paper aims to shed a new light on antinatalism that is recently
spreading among the general public. David Benatar, the leading advocate of
this view, focuses on the harm of coming into existence. In his eyes each
newborn is a victim forced to suffer without informed consent. They are,
however, also perpetrators, considering the ongoing climate crisis and mass
extinction, which prompts some environmentalists to oppose procreation. In
quite a number of cases of abortion, which is an antinatal practice, the embryo
or fetus is also regarded as causing harm to the physical or mental health of
the pregnant woman and/or her family. In the traditional Yanomami culture,
when a woman decides after birth to return the baby to the spirit world,
she ends its life and feeds the body to termites. This kind of symbiotic
relationship between humans and non-humans demonstrates the limitations of
anthropocentric antinatalism.departmental bulletin pape
