P(論文)The late Dr. Wiesław Kota´nski (1915-2005) at Warsaw University studied the Kojiki during his lifetime. This paper is a free translation from the fragment of his main work entitled Dziedzictwo Japon´skich Bogów (Heritage Kept in the Japanese Deities). He insisted that the messages for a better life even in the modern world, which are left in the Kojiki, could be found by analyzing the epithets of the deities appearing in the Kojiki. In his book he analyzes the words Takamagafara and ’Amanominakanusi-no-kami found in the first verse. Usually Takamagafara is understood as the wide field in the high heaven, but he interpreted the meaning of this name as the place of Chaos from which everything in the universe comes. This interpretation is quite different from generally accepted understanding. As in the case of Takamagafara, his interpretation of ’Amanominakanusi-no-kami is also unique. It is usually understood as the master in the center of heaven, but he understands this deity in the beginning of the Kojiki as the master with power of life giving and of diffusing and encouraging its power and activity.departmental bulletin pape

P(論文)Logistics network design is one of the most important phases in supply chain management (SCM). Transportation problem (TP) is a we11-known basic network model that can be generally defined as a problem to minimize the total delivery cost. However, the concept of inventory is not included in a traditional TP model. Moreover, time concepts, such as carrying costs in a certain period, are not treated. These restrictions on this model profoundly affect the use of the TP model in the real world. In this paper, we formulate a Progressive Flexible Logistics Network Model (PFLN). In this model, l year is divided into several terms and the annual demands of delivery centers are satisfied for each term. To solve the problem, we applied an effective genetic algorithm (GA) method called the Boltzmann random key-based GA (Brk-GA).departmental bulletin pape

P(論文)In Switzerland right-to-die organizations have legally helped the members to end their intolerable lives thanks to the country’s criminal code that does not outlaw assistance in suicide unless it is motivated by self-interest. The voluntary termination of one’s own life after due consideration is accepted by the general public as a personal and responsible choice. This paper, focusing on the two major institutions, Exit Deutsche Schweiz and Dignitas, first outlines the unique practice and the controversies triggered; especially by Dignitas which extends the service to foreigners. Secondly, two characteristics of the groups’ procedures are explored; those who seek help in dying are strongly advised to have their family or friends involved in the process in order to avoid a lonely death; trained volunteers, not doctors, assist in the final moment. The system can be construed as a way to reclaim “one’s own death” in a highly medicalized society.departmental bulletin pape

P(論文)This study reports on the vocabulary level of eight popular children’s animated movies from the Disney studios to determine the range of the vocabulary used in the films and the proportion of vocabulary from each frequency band. Comparisons are also made to the vocabulary distribution of the movie Shrek. Results indicate that these children’s movies require a fairly high level of vocabulary, with up to 8000 words required for understanding of the four most lexically complex movies. Implications for use of children’s movies for second language learning are discussed.departmental bulletin pape

P(論文)In April of 2009, the Cabinet Secretariat for the Japanese Secretariat of Intellectual Property Strategy Headquarters announced a new Japanese Power, (Nippon Ryoku) campaign together with a Japanese Strategic Branding Action Plan. Although it is necessary for such state branding to include domestic consciousness, it is difficult to see how to achieve such consciousness given this particular catchphrase and the make-up of the action plan. What should be taken more seriously is that it is the state bureaucracy that is creating the state brand itself. In this paper I will address the issues of national identity and internal state branding by comparing and contrasting Prime Minister Abe’s Beautiful Country, Japan plan with Prime Minister Blair’s Cool Britannia plan, identify various challenges facing those plans and discuss the fundamental differences in thinking between the two countries.departmental bulletin pape

P(論文)Until now as reference materials in order to know how often each adjective is used for in each work (use frequency), I have announced adjective contrastive vocabulary list of “the anthology of the eight poems”, “the prose work in ancient period” and “the documents written in Chinese with signs for rendering into Japanese” in my book “a study of the lexicography of an adjective / adjective verb”. And after that I have announced adjective contrastive vocabulary list of “Gunki-Monogatari (the war chronicle)” and “Konjaku Monogatari-Shu (the Tales of Times Now Past)” too. But, now I found that I overlooked some adjectives by repeating various invesyigation. So , I enumerate those word examples as follows and show how often they are used forin each document.departmental bulletin pape

P(論文)This article considers the definition of discriminatory language and related problems. Aspects considered are the history of discrimination which is reflected in discriminatory language, the intentional use of discriminatory language to oppose discrimination and, how the language points to the existence of discrimination. The limitations of discriminatory language being viewed as a legal problem are clarified, as is the necessity for dialog between the majority and minorities to resolve these issues. It is necessary to radically change the current social structures and social relations that cause discrimination in order to achieve a solution to this problem.departmental bulletin pape
