Statistical Analysis of the Japanese National Academic Performance Survey
Get PDFP(論文)The mass media and people related to education have argued about the results of the Japanese national survey of academic performance which the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology administered; paying attention to the low scores in Osaka prefecture.
This paper, does not discuss countermeasures by prefectures, but analyzes the available quantitative data. By using multi regression analysis when letting academic performance be an objective variable, we find some effective explanatory variables. Also by factor analysis with factor loading amount, we can clarify the position of each prefecture and reveal the factors that affect the scores of students. We believe that this research can enable our compulsory education system to achieve higher scores in future.departmental bulletin pape

Get PDFP(論文)This paper examines an article by Sojin Fujishiro, The Heated Record of a Cat Writer, and I Am a Cat by Soseki Natsume. The Cat Writer says that Natsume’s cat is borrowed from Germany. The author of the Cat Writer is Teisuke Fujishiro, who revealed the hidden name of Murr the tomcat, popular in the German literary world.
Fujishiro and Natsume were friends. Through national scholarships, one studied in the U.K, the other in Germany.

The Nakasone Administration and Land Policies:How did the land price bubble occur?
Get PDFP(論文)I have analyzed the 1985 Plaza Accord as the main cause of the Japanese bubble economy of the late 1980s in the previous paper. However, this analysis might be too simplistic unless a close examination of land prices before the Plaza Accord is taken into account, because the prices had already risen before 1985. The sharp rise in land prices preceded the depression due to the yen appreciation after 1985 and to a series of reductions in the official discount rate after 1986. Thus, this essay discusses the rise in land prices and the land policy leading to this rise during the Nakasone administration in an attempt to offer a unique perspective on the Plaza Accord and the bubble economy by evaluating the land policy of the administration.departmental bulletin pape
How the U.S.GAAP Were Codified ?― The Case of Pronouncements of Foreign Currency Matters ―
Get PDFP(論文)In June 2009, the FASB, the U.S. standard-setter, reorganized the source of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S.GAAP). The FASB developed the Accounting Standards Codification (the ASC). Before the ASC, the U.S.GAAP hierarchy has lacked a consistent and logical structure. The ASC is constituted as the single consistent and logical source of U.S.GAAP. In this paper, I aim to explicate the structure and verify the codification process of the ASC. I try to verify how SFAS 52 and other related standards, which are precodification pronouncements, were codified into Topic 830 in the ASC. U.S.GAAP have a dynamic structure that is able to accept the updates of the standards. The Political Thought of Tadao Yanaihara（4）−Politics and Religion−
Get PDFP(論文)Tadao Kanzo (1839〜1961) welcomed the separation of religion from politics and the freedom of religious faith, stipulated in article 20 of the new constitution.On the other hand, he worried greatly about the indifference to and hostility toward religion which resulted from this separation. He thought that religion, especially Christianity, should not be enclosed in the private field, but should also be influential in the public domain. The spirit of Christianity should permeate among the people, if democracy continued to work effectively.
This article also compares the attitude toward the Pacific war of Tadao Yanaihara with Toraji Tukamoto (1885〜1973), the disciple of Kanzo Uchimura, from the viewpoint of the relationship between politics and religion. It also attempts to make clear the affinity and differences between Tadao Yanaihara and Shigeru Nanbara (1889〜1974) in the battle against the pseudo state religion. Although Yanaihara brings his Christian faith directly into his public activities, Nanbara tries to be ascetic and appeals to the language of political philosophy.departmental bulletin pape

Get PDFP(論文)A federal state consists of smaller individual states, nine in Austria, and responsibility for legislation, administration and jurisdiction are divided between the states and the federation.
This paper examines the Federalism in the Federal Republic of Austria, chiefly the division of functions between Bund, the federal state, and Länder, the individual states.
Firstly, we see the main provisions of the Austrian Constitution (Bundes- Verfassungsgesetz〔B-VG〕) related to these functions, namely Articles 10-15, which show clearly the centralization of Austrian Federalism in comparison with that of Germany or Switzerland.
Secondly, we see the participation of Länder in the legislation or administration of Bund, and the co-operation of the Bund with the legislation or administration of the Länder.
