Get PDFThis study aims to determine the degree of the severity of ankle sprains from the thickness of soft tissue. After examining 133 cases of ankle sprains, it was considered possible to determine the severity of a lateral ligament injury of the ankle from the thickness of soft tissue if the patient has a medical examination at a medical institution at an early stage as the swelling of the lateral malleolus is evident in the early stage after the lateral ligament of the ankle is injured. At that time there were no subjects called English at the elementary schools. It was just called English Activity Course or English Activity Time there. The author was a part time teacher then.
There are some strategies to teach English for the elementary school students.Basically, active learning is needed. Also, English Sounds, rhythm, and intonation are very important for students. Employing Metacognitive Awareness in Teaching TOEFL Listening

The program adopted a metacognitive approach and employed a pedagogical study cycle to train the students in how to plan, monitor and evaluation their listening and their listening development.
The paper discusses the problems facing teachers in a TOEFL listening course and the challenges students have when learning listening.
It briefly outlines a working theory of listening and how metacognitive awareness of listening can improve a learner’s listening skill.

Meta-analysis of tDCS treatment for ADHD
Get PDFAttention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) impacts a significant number of children and adolescents and often leads to deleterious functional impairment. Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) has been proposed as a novel therapy. Some investigations have claimed that tDCS reduces the symptoms of ADHD, but studies on tDCS have demonstrated variable results.This meta-analysis aimed to examine the effect of tDCS on children and adolescents with ADHD. A systematic literature search was performed in four online databases in total including PubMed, Cochrane Library, bioRxiv and PsychINFO. The last search was in January 2018. Six studies, which attempted to evalute the effectiveness using Go/No-Go task, were included in the metaanalysis.The studies, which the electrodes were placed over the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and performed No-Go task, produced the midle effect size (SMD = 0.69; 95% CI, 0.16 to 1.21). Unsafe Behaviours of Children and Companions at the Waterside and Safety Management for Water Accidents at Public Bathing Areas
Get PDFThis study aimed to clarify the unsafe behaviours of children playing and their companions, and safety management at public bathing areas. The research was conducted at 18 public bathing areas (beaches and lakes) in Japan’s Kinki region.In total, information on 2358 events was collected, involving 3650 children and 2332 companions.
While 2550 children (69.8%) wore flotation devices such as lifejackets or swim belts, 955 children (26.2%) played by the water with no such equipment. In comparison, only 474 companions (20.3%) wore flotation devices, a lower rate
than among children. In addition, 429 cases (17.8%) were seen of children playing alone or in small groups of two or more. Lifeguards or others monitoring for water accidents were in 16 of the bathing areas, and life-saving devices such as rescue boards and tubes in 10 of the bathing areas.
To reduce unsafe situations and behaviours of children playing at the waterside, efforts must be made to educate children about water accidents and safety in schools, and to focus their guardians’ attention on the risk of water accidents.6P論文Articledepartmental bulletin pape

Get PDFThe purpose of this paper is to investigate the possibility of a citizenship education program that integrated a study program in disaster-stricken areas.The paper uses a case of a summer program for high-school students in Fujisawa city, conducted by NPO and local government.
The program influenced and empowered the participants in various ways.They gained deeper understanding and awareness of what happened on the day of disaster, as well as the current challenges in disaster-stricken areas. Some of them even started to take actual actions. These changes are significant in terms of youth civic development.
There were some keys that triggered these changes: i) encounter with the experiences and challenges of people in disaster-stricken areas, ii) interaction with those who have stood up and take actions to make change, iii) environment that accepts and encourages youth’s voice and action.10P論文Articledepartmental bulletin pape

Get PDFP(論文)Haruki Murakami is a novelist who also competes in triathlons and marathons. How has his running affected him and his literary work? Furthermore, has he read any books about running that offer interesting viewpoints? In addition, how does he train?
For this report, I considered works that feature in printed media, such as interviews, essays and other texts.
Since many novelists do not participate in sports, Murakami was regarded as a heretic and received continuous criticism. He fought for people who were criticized all the time. It may be said that he is an atypical runner, and is therefore isolated. Also, it can be seen from the Murakami works that literary language and rhythm are important attributes. As well as music, running must affect the form of writing immensely. Additionally, there is the theoretical question about his training, but it may be said that his original training has helped him form a writing style.departmental bulletin pape
