Thoughts on Criticism of Works and Cultural Criticism: Examined in a sociology education context
Get PDFWhen discussing some cultural phenomena in sociology educational context, there is a school of thought that refuse to write criticism or justify writing impressions. Author-centredness and value relativism tend to fall into such thinking. In this paper, we propose to find a way to get over the impressions and criticize them by gradually introducing the viewpoints of “criticism of works” and “cultural criticism”. For that purpose, we examined urban legends related to four animation works My Neighbor Totoro, Ponyo on a Cliff by the Sea, Howl' s Moving Castle and Frozen. Since urban legends are often unclear, various impressions are often confused. But in itself it can be said to be the archetype of criticism. The above four works can be discussed with a definite distinction between the intentions of the “author”, what is written in the “work”, the interpretation of the “reader”, and the “culture” behind the work. At the same time, in the state of California where similar lockdown orders were in place, online teaching sessions were implemented at a private kindergarten. Through these online sessions, teachers observed peer interactions and utilized online educational resources, which promoted children’s creativity. Effects of Discover Scuba Diving on the Profile of Mood States（POMS） － Regarding tourists in Okinawa －
Get PDFThe purpose of this study was to conduct a questionnaire survey on the effect on the mood profile（POMS）of subjects who did Discover Scuba Diving during sightseeing in Okinawa, and to contribute to the development of tourism in Okinawa.
The results showed that, the negative mood scores after the Discover Scuba Diving were all significantly reduced except for the fatigue score. Although the fatigue score increased significantly after the Discover Scuba Diving, this is probably because the Discover Scuba Diving itself was active and accompanied by a feeling of fatigue. The vital score, which was a positive mood score, also decreased after the Discover Scuba Diving, but no significant difference was observed. In addition, the Total Mood Disturbance（TMD） score indicates that the score significantly decreased after the Discover Scuba Diving, which can be judged to be a decrease in the general feeling of anxiety.
The above results confirmed a change of mood during Discover Scuba Diving and showed that a psychological effect could be obtained.departmental bulletin pape

Get PDFThe terror attacks by a gunman at two mosques in Christchurch on March 15, 2019 took the lives of 51 people and left more than 40 injured. The purpose of this paper is to analyse the response both by the government and the citizens of New Zealand after the massacre, given that the responses within the nation after the shootings earned applause world-wide. The paper looks first at the Prime Minister’s leadership and the movements by citizens that followed, then the messages from the leadership of the targeted Muslim communities. It also looks at how the setup and procedure of the Royal Commission of Inquiry is viewed by the public, and the practices of local government agencies.
In discussion, it argues that the fact that New Zealand has addressed the issues of exclusionism both at the level of the instrumental violence by the terrorist and that of the expressive violence by white supremacists, could be highlighted as the reason for winning world recognition.departmental bulletin pape

Get PDFA federal state consists of smaller individual states, nine in Austria, and responsibility for legislation, administration and jurisdiction are divided between the states and the federation.
This paper examines the Federalism in the Federal Republic of Austria, chiefly the division of functions between Bund, the federal state, and Länder, the individual states.
Firstly, we see the main provisions of the Austrian Constitution（Bundes-Verfassungsgesetz〔B-VG〕） related to these functions, namely Articles 10-15, which show clearly the centralization of Austrian Federalism in comparison with that of Germany or Switzerland.
Secondly, we see the participation of Länder in the legislation or administration of Bund, and the co-operation of Bund with the legislation or administration of Länder.
Thirdly, we see examine the control and compulsory execution of Bund on Länder.

A Study on Early Termination of Young Employees in the Lodging Industry ― A Case Study of Hotels in Nago City, Okinawa ―

Therefore, an interview survey with personnel officials in hotels in Nago City was conducted. As a result, it became clear that the early turnover rate of Nago city as a whole was 26.8%. Compared with the early turnover rate of high school graduates in Okinawa Prefecture 57.2% and the early turnover rate of college graduates 43.7%, it also became clear that the early turnover rate of hotels in Nago city is not high. However, the actual situation left room for improvement. The Reception of Carl Schmitt in the Japanese Constitutional Theory（２） ― Satoru Kuroda and Yoshio Onishi―
Get PDFThis article intends to analyze how Yoshio Onishi (1909-1975), interpreted Carl Schmitt’s constitutional theory (Verfassungslehre) and adapted it to the analysis of both the Meiji Constitution and the postwar constitution. Especially we pay attention to Onishi’s theory of constituent power and constitutional emergency power. He regarded constituent power as not unlimited, but limited by concrete order, especially it’s idea and practical norm. And Onishi attempted to limit the enormous and unlimited legal power of Emperor by consulting Schmitt’s views on constitutional emergency power in the Weimar Republic. But in the process of wartime system and total mobilization, which was seen in the National Mobilization Act (1938) and the movement of Great Politics Party(1940),he regarded Japan’s critical condition as the normalization of exception and departed from his former position.
After the world war Ⅱ, he returned to his original position and appealed to the importance of constitutional emergency power, which is not stipulated in the postwar Japanese Constitution. He also tried to legitimatize the radical transformation from imperial sovereignty to the sovereignty of people by appealing to the theory of Schmitt’s constituent power. Especially he emphasized the legitimacy of constituent power and insisted that constituent power of people itself is not actual will, but is constrained by the legitimacy of the concrete order.departmental bulletin pape
