Belajar Sawit: Sebuah Platform Edukasi Digital Masa Depan Khusus untuk Petani Sawit dan Stakeholder Melalui Pendekatan Blanded Learning
In order to achieve high productivity, especially for people-owned oil palm plantations, farmers need to have knowledge and skills through learning or guidance from oil palm experts. The objectives to be achieved from this study include: designing the Belajar Sawit application that makes it easier for farmers and prospective oil palm farmers to get updated information from oil palm experts, analyzing usability engineering and analyzing the responses of farmers and prospective oil palm farmers to the benefits of the Belajar Sawit application. The method used to analyze the technical aspects (usability) consists of field observation (direct observation), questionnaire and thinking aloud. Referring to the functional readiness of the Belajar Palm application, it is necessary to test several aspects, in the form of aspects: learnability, efficiency, memorability, errors, and (satisfaction) which are used to assess Belajar Sawit from user responses through questionnaires. This research has succeeded in designing the Belajar Palm website and application, with the main menu: Independent Learning, Training, Expertise, Counseling and Certification. The Palm Oil Learning Menu on: Certification and Training is the fastest menu found by respondents. Based on the evaluation of the usability of the Palm Oil Learning, Expertise, and Extension menus are the menus that take the longest time. The cause of errors in Expertise and Extension is due to the position of the menu that is difficult to see

Synthesis and Characterization of Ethanolic Extract of Red Betel Leaf as an Antiseptic Gel
Hand hygiene is one way to maintain health. There are several ways to clean hands, namely by washing hands and applying a hand sanitizer. The use of hand sanitizer is increasing due to its practical nature. Utilizing natural materials for preparing hand sanitizer widely available around us will be beneficial, one of which is red betel leaf which some people of Indonesia empirically use for antiseptic. This study aims to develop antiseptic gel preparations with ethanolic extracts from red betel leaves. The extraction was done using maceration with 70% ethanol solvent. The formula for choosing a carbomer as a gelling agent with the red betel leaf extract concentration was 0%, 2.5%, 5%, 10%, and 15%. The assessments of the gel were physical and antiseptic evaluations. The physical evaluations included an organoleptic, pH, viscosity, adhesion, and dispersion tests. The antiseptic activity was determined by a replica method. The physical evaluation results of red betel gel revealed that the higher the red betel leaf extract levels are, the darker the green color will be, and the lower the pH and viscosity will be. Furthermore, the antiseptic activity showed that red betel extract gel effectively reduced the number of bacterial colonies.
Marriage, Motherhood, and Self-Blame: Analyzing the Tragic Heroine’s Spiritual Suicide in Jude the Obscure
The societal phenomenon of self-blame disproportionately impacts women who encounter tragedies as wives and mothers. This is demonstrated in Jude the Obscure (1896) by Thomas Hardy, one of the most controversial pieces in Victorian literature. With the use of textual analysis and the application of feminist theory concentrating on Clarissa Pinkola Estes' idea of the female psychic slumber in her book Women Who Run With the Wolves (1995), this paper inspects Hardy's character of the enigmatic Sue Bridehead, aiming to unearth the underlying causes of her spiritual suicide after the three children’s death. Estes’ notion of spiritual demise indicates a woman’s submission to conventionality after encountering tragedy, especially during marriage and motherhood. As a nonconformist within a traditional societal framework, Sue’s transformation from Part III to VI of the book stands out as she shifts from being a free spirit to a conventional wife after encountering tribulations. Her spiritual suicide stems from three interrelated factors: Regret for her children’s short life; culpability; and her idea that it is God’s way of punishing her for her nonconformist beliefs. This convergence weaves together a memorable picture of a woman's spiritual self-destruction amidst traumatic events and the expectations of a conventional society that women should submit to their husbands and renounce whatever unorthodox beliefs they have
Creating a Home Elsewhere: Diasporic Imagination in Lee Isaac Chung’s Minari
Minari, a film screened in 2020 directed by Lee Isaac Chung, presents a Korean immigrant family having moved to Arkansas in fulfilling their American dream at the cost of being displaced and out of place. By focusing on the attempt made by Jacob, the father, to recreate the imagined home which refers to South Korea, this study aims to show how the displacement and unhomeliness in the construction of diasporic imagination are displayed in the film. David, the son, not only feels out of place but is also obligated to feel a kind of belonging to both cultures. Jacob’s mother-in-law, Soon-Ja, having newly arrived in the US brings recent memories of home into the family that represent the Korean immigrant perspective of living in the US for the first time. This approach will show how the American film attempts to incorporate the new forms of portraying the ‘elsewhere’ which is an important characteristic of American dream narratives. The analysis is conducted by referring to Bhabha’s unhomeliness and Walder’s displacement in comprehending the contrast between the stereotypical characteristics of Korean immigrants and the American dream through the dialogues and scenes. We would like to argue that Minari follows the convention of the American dream narratives. However, due to displacement and unhomeliness, the film shows how Korean immigrants experience being awkwardly immersed within the mainstream American cultural discourse.
EFL PRE-SERVICE TEACHERS’ SELF-EFFICACY BELIEFS DURING TEACHING PRACTICUM
The purpose of this study is to look into pre-service EFL teachers' self-efficacy beliefs about teaching English as they progress through their teaching practicum. The study's findings were gathered through a survey of 20 pre-service EFL teachers enrolled in the Faculty of Education at one of Cirebon's private universities. Teachers' Sense of Efficacy Scales of 24 questions were used to gather data, which evaluates pre-service teachers' self-efficacy on three subscales: student engagement, instructional strategy, and classroom management. The results were analyzed using descriptive statistics to determine which EFL pre-service teachers had the highest and lowest levels of self-efficacy. The study's findings revealed that their self-efficacy is at a medium level, and they are more effective in terms of instructional strategy. The study of self-efficacy regarding EFL students' practicum has significance for any institution involved in building higher-quality programs for future-generation teachers
