Exploring Subtitling Strategies and Pronoun Translation in “Sang Pemimpi” (The Dreamer) Movie Subtitle
Get PDFThe study of pronoun translation in subtitle is crucial to give insight for subtitler for maintaining the producing accurate, respectful, and culturally sensitive translations, ensuring effective communication across different languages and cultures. This research aims to identify pronoun translation in the Indonesian-English movie subtitle of Sang Pemimpi (The Dreamer) movie. This study was designed as qualitative research, with content analysis as a method of collecting the data. The analysis focused on how the pronoun in the subtitle translated from SL to TL, what are the cultural reasons of using pronoun and what are strategies used by the translator with considering grammatical and socio-cultural aspects in both the Source Language (SL) and Target Language (TL). The findings reveal three categories of pronoun translation occur in subtitle, they are pronoun to pronoun, pronoun to reference, and pronoun to omission. A total of 680 pronouns were translated, with 521 (77%) translated as pronoun to pronoun, 152 (22%) as a pronoun to omission, and 7 (1%) as a pronoun to reference. These results underscore the diverse background factors influencing why pronouns are translated, including socio-cultural and grammatical considerations. There are several subtiling strategies used by translators to translate the sentences, including genralization, direct translation, explicitation, and subtiution. These strategiess are employed to ensure fidelity to the original meaning while adapting to linguistic and cultural nuances in the target language
Minat Siswa Mengikuti Bimbingan Karir
Get PDFPenelitian ini untuk: (1) Mengidentifikasi tingginya minat para siswa kelas XI SMK Bopkri Dua Yogyakarta tahun pelajaran 2021/2022 terhadap layanan bimbingan karir. (2) Mengetahui butir- butir pegukuran dalam kuisioner minat siswa mengikuti bimbingan karir yang tergolong memiliki skor yang rendah sebagai dasar penyusunan program bimbingan bagi siswa kelas XI SMK Bopkri Dua Yogyakarta (3) Mengetahui topik-topik bimbingan apa saja yang dapat meningkatkan minat siswa kelas XI mengikuti layanan bimbingan karir di SMK Bopkri Dua Yogyakarta.Penelitian menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuisioner berjumlah 55 item, dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas XI SMK Bopkri Dua Yogyakarta sebanyak47 siswa. Nilai koefisien reliabilitas instrument menggunakan pendekatan Alpha Chronbach (α) sebesar 0,952.Penelitian menunjukan bahwa tingkat minat siswa mengikuti bimbingan karir sangat tinggi, yaitu sebanyak 33 siswa (70,2%). Item skor terendah yaitu pada kategori sedang sebanyak 2 item (3,64%), berdasarkan kedua item tersebut disusun dua topic bimbingan, yaitu, ,(1) Pentingnya Mempelajari Karir dan (2) Menyusun masa depan karir dari sekarang. Minat siswa kelas XI SMK Bopkri Dua sangat tinggi berbeda dengan hasil observasi penulis lakukan. Penelitian ini dilakukan sebagai acuan dasar dalam membantu siswa mengetahui karir ke depan, yaitu dengan mengetahui tingkat minat terlebih dahulu
Analysis of Psychological Issues in Me Before You
Get PDFThis study examined the psychological issues and how they affect the behaviors of the protagonists Will and Louisa in the movie Me Before You and their decision-making processes. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach and incorporated Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory to analyze the film's narrative. Freud's concepts of the id, ego, and superego provide insights into the underlying motivations driving the characters' actions. The findings revealed that Will's struggles with depression, loss of identity, and desire for autonomy drive his decision for assisted suicide while Louisa faces her own challenges with fear of change and societal pressures. The study concluded that experiencing accidents and depression could lead to risky behavior, while highlighting the importance of companionship and understanding, and emphasizing the role of psychological factors in decision-making. Applying Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic concepts of id, ego, and superego to the protagonists, Will Traynor and Louisa Clark, offers valuable insights into their psychological struggles, enriching the narrative and enhancing its relatability for readers. Future research should explore the ethical implications of assisted suicide, the impact of social isolation on mental health, and the role of humor in caregiving relationships. This will contribute to a deeper understanding of human behavior in challenging circumstances

Hubungan antara Transformational Leadership dan Quality of Work Life dengan Employee Engagement pada Generasi Z
No full textGeneration Z is the generation that's less engaged in the workplace. Transformational leadership and quality of work life are two of the other factors that can affect employee engagement. This research aims to find out the relationship between transformational leadership and the quality of work life simultaneously and partially towards employee engagement. Participants of this research are 60 employees of generation z at PT. Kalimantan Prima Persada. Simple random sampling was used to select employees with the criteria of Generation Z employees and permanent employees. The instrument for data collection used a scale of employee engagement with reliability 0.911, and then a scale of transformational leadership with reliability 0.953, and scale of quality of work life with reliability 0.842. This research using online questionnaires for data collection, and data analysis techniques using multiple linear regression. The result of correlation between variables is R 0.667. The results show that there is a relationship between transformational leadership and the quality of work life both simultaneously and partially towards employee engagement. Therefore, it would be useful for companies to increase their employee engagement

Get PDFThis research aims to explore the application of the concept of friendship in Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics in the context of supporting victims of bullying. The problem raised is how the concept of ideal friendship according to Aristotle can help overcome and reduce the negative impacts of bullying. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach with literature analysis and case studies of individuals who experience bullying and find support through friendly relationships in accordance with Aristotelian principles. The findings suggest that friendships based on virtue, as described by Aristotle, can provide significant emotional support, increase victims' self-confidence, and promote a more positive social environment. The conclusion of this research is that the implementation of the Aristotelian concept of friendship is not only relevant, but also effective in providing assistance and recovery for victims of bullying, and has the potential to reduce bullying incidents themselves.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi penerapan konsep persahabatan dalam Etika Nikomakea Aristoteles dalam konteks mendukung korban bullying. Masalah yang diangkat adalah bagaimana konsep persahabatan yang ideal menurut Aristoteles dapat membantu mengatasi dan mengurangi dampak negatif bullying. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan analisis literatur dan studi kasus terhadap individu yang mengalami bullying dan menemukan dukungan melalui hubungan persahabatan yang sesuai dengan prinsip-prinsip Aristotelian. Hasil temuan menunjukkan bahwa persahabatan berdasarkan kebajikan, seperti yang dijelaskan oleh Aristoteles, dapat memberikan dukungan emosional yang signifikan, meningkatkan rasa percaya diri korban, dan mempromosikan lingkungan sosial yang lebih positif. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa implementasi konsep persahabatan Aristotelian tidak hanya relevan, tetapi juga efektif dalam memberikan bantuan dan pemulihan bagi korban bullying, serta berpotensi mengurangi insiden bullying itu sendiri
The Effect of Adherence to Antihypertensive Therapy and Cardiovascular Risk Among Hypertensive Patients in Purworejo Regency
Get PDFUncontrolled hypertension will increase mortality and morbidity rates. The adherence is an important factor in controlling blood pressure. Uncontrolled blood pressure will affect cardiovascular risk. Therefore, hypertensive patients must comply with taking medication to control blood pressure and cardiovascular risk. This study was an analytical observational study with a cross-sectional design. A total of 85 respondents who met the inclusion criteria were measured for adherence using the MPR (Medication Possession Ratio) method and the MARS-5 (Medication Adherence Report Scale-5) questionnaire. A patient who had blood pressure 140/90 mmHg was categorized as controlled hypertension. The cardiovascular risk was measured using the ACC/AHA criteria method. Data were analyzed using chi-square tests and odds ratio (OR) with 95% confidence interval (CI) and p0.05 considered significant. This study showed that there was a significant association between adherence to antihypertensive therapy to controlled blood pressure, either according to MPR (OR=18.262; 95%CI=5.259-63.412; p=0.000) and MARS-5 (OR=31.607; 95%CI=8.170-122.277; p=0.000). A significant association was found between antihypertensive adherence and cardiovascular risk, either according to MPR (OR=3.733; 95%CI=1.269-10.983; p=0.020) and MARS-5 (OR=9.000; 95%CI=2.702-29.983; p=0.000). Therefore, this study concludes a significant relationship between antihypertensive adherence to controlled blood pressure and cardiovascular risk in Purworejo Regency
Nanoemulgel Formulation of Eleutherine palmifolia Onion Bulb Extract and Its Effectiveness in Wound Healing
Get PDFEleutherine palmifolia onion, an indigenous medicinal plant from Borneo, is empirically applied to treat wound healing. The objective of this study is to formulate its extract and assess its in vivo wound healing activity. Eleutherine palmifolia onion was extracted with a 96% ethanol solvent. The extract of the Dayak onion bulb was then formulated into a nanoemulsion by applying the DOE method of 2-level factorial design. Four nanoemulsion formulations were further analyzed to obtain the optimal formulation. The particle size analysis and % transmittance was performed using a particle size analyzer and an ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using the Minitab 19 application with the DOE factorial design method. The three nanoemulgel formulations containing 2.5, 5.0, and 7.5% extract were further investigated for wound healing efficacy in rats. The duration of wound closure was analyzed using paired t-tests. The best nanoemulsion formulation was made with 22.5 mL of Tween 80 and 2 mL of isopropyl myristate oil. This produced particles that were 12.13 nm in size and a 99.12% transmittance rate. Wound length measurements were taken daily for 15 days. The statistical test results of p0.05 indicate that the nanoemulgel of the extract has significant activity in wound healing. The optimal nanoemulsion formula is formula A, and the effective dose of Dayak onion extract nanoemulgel is 5% and 7.5% concentrations, with a wound healing time of 13 days
Optimization of Naringenin Self-Nano Emulsifying Drug Delivery System (SNEDDS) Formula with D-optimal Mixture Design Method
Get PDFThis study aimed to optimize and formulate the poorly water-soluble naringenin in the Self-Nano Emulsifying Drug Delivery System (SNEDDS) using D-optimal mixture design. D-optimal mixture design was used to optimize SNEDDS loading naringenin by selecting SNEDDS composition as an independent factor and SNEDDS characterization as a response. SNEDDS in the optimal formula were characterized, including transmittance, particle size, emulsification time, and drug loading. Triacetin, Tween 80, and transcutol p were respectively the selected oil, surfactant, and co-surfactant phases for their greatest ability to dissolve naringenin. The optimization results showed that the optimal formula was that using 10% triacetin, 70% of Tween 80, and 20% of transcutol p. SNEDDS loading naringenin produced nanoemulsion with 88.74±2.27 % of transmittance, 14.8 nm of particle size, 51.13 ± 4.53 mg/L of drug loading, and 18.58 ± 0.62 second of emulsification time. This study concludes that the D-optimal mixture design can be used to optimize and prepare the SNEDDS loading poorly-water soluble naringenin.
