A reassessment of Sarah Orne Jewett's folkloric interests in Deephaven
Get PDFSarah Orne Jewettの代表作The Country of the Pointed Firsの前身となるDeephavenを取り上げた。本作はThe Countryの習作とみなされることが多いが、本論では本作の主眼が主人公の成長を扱うことではなく、さびれゆく共同体の文化や風習を記録することにあることを明らかにし、再評価を促すものである。Jewettは共同体の人々が語る逸話を重視し、主人公らが訪問した当時と、1800年代初頭の暮らしとを本作において詳細に記録し、生きた文化史を提供している。This paper focuses on Deephaven, the precursor to Sarah Orne Jewett’s representative work, The Country of the Pointed Firs. While Deephaven is often regarded as a preliminary work to The Country, this paper argues that its primary focus is not on the protagonist's growth, but rather on documenting the culture and customs of a declining community, calling for a reevaluation of the work. Jewett places particular importance on the anecdotes told by the community members, meticulously recording both the lives of the people when the protagonists visit and the early 1800s way of life, thereby offering a vivid cultural history.論文(Article)departmental bulletin pape

Get PDF本研究は，全国1741市町村(特別区含む)の子ども・子育て支援事業計画等の評価に関する仕組みやその内容，地域の住民や利用者等が行う利用者評価の実態把握を目的とした調査の基本統計量から，利用者評価を含めた評価システムづくりの基礎情報を得ることを目的とする。計画評価に関する多くの項目で，重要と捉えているほど実際には実施できていない現状が明らかとなった。事務作業量の軽減，担当者の異動に伴う引継ぎ，担当者の異動後も継続的に評価ができる仕組み，子どもの意見を積極的に取り入れる方法や仕組みを盛り込むことについて，その傾向が顕著に見られた。今後は重要と捉えながらも実行できていない点に注目し，利用者評価体制や仕組みを構築していくことが求められる。The purpose of this study is to obtain basic information for the establishment of evaluation systems, including user evaluation, from the basic statistics of surveys conducted in 1741 municipalities (including special districts) nationwide, to understand the systems and their contents concerning the evaluation of child and child-rearing support project plans, etc., and the actual status of user evaluation conducted by local residents, users, and others.
For many of the items related to plan evaluation, it was clear that the more important they were considered, the less they were actually implemented. This was particularly true for "reducing paperwork", "handing over when responsible personnel change", "establishing a system for continuous evaluation even when responsible personnel change", and "incorporating methods and systems to actively involve children's opinions". In the future, it is necessary to pay attention to the points that are considered important but not implemented, and to build a mechanism and system for user evaluation.論文(Article)departmental bulletin pape

From occupation-research to life-research : a critique of census by Charles Booth
No full text本論文はブースの初論文「連合王国住民の職業、1801-81」(1886, Journal of the Royal Statistical Society, Vol.49,p.314-435)を扱っている。ブースは連合王国で始まったばかりのセンサス、とりわけ職業調査を批判した。彼は職業調査の不備を指摘し、職業調査と同様生活調査の重要性を主張した。こうした検討をする中で、ブースは後の著書『ロンドン住民の生活と労働』において用いられる統計表の手がかりを得る。This paper dealt with Booth's first paper,"Occupations of the People of the United Kingdom, 1801-81" (1886, Journal of the Royal Statistical Society, Vol.49, p.314-435). Booth criticized the Census that just had begun in the United Kingdom, especially the occupational survey. He pointed out the deficiencies in the occupational survey, and insisted it was important life survey just as occupational survey.
