Ukraine without Russia : history and churches in Ukraine with a focus on Eastern Orthodoxy
Get PDFロシア軍によるウクライナ侵攻は、両民族が共有するキリスト教東方正教の世界にもくさびを打ち込んだ。東方正教は「独立教会制」を特徴としており、国境に準じる形で教会の管轄領域が定められるのが一般的である。ロシアとウクライナが正教の歴史の多くの部分を共有していることは事実だが、ソ連時代までの「帝国」の領域が現在もロシア正教会の管轄として引き継がれており、ウクライナが独立した正教会を持てないことが正教世界を二分する対立の原因となった。正教は、両民族にとっての絆である以上に、今やくびきとなっているのである。本稿では、東方正教を共有する「兄弟」民族という起源神話について、ロシアとウクライナそれぞれの立場から概観する。さらに、ウクライナが正教という宗教/文化/歴史をめぐって抱えている問題の本質を検討し、現在のウクライナ正教会をめぐる一連の問題を、大局的な視点から整理することを目的とする。The invasion of Ukraine drove a wedge into the world of Orthodox Christianity, which is shared by the ethnic Eastern-Slavs. Eastern Orthodoxy is characterized by an "autocephalous church system" that developed with the concept of nation state, wherein, the jurisdiction of the church is usually defined in line with national borders. The current conflict between Orthodox Russia and Ukraine stems from the fact that most of the former USSR's territory is still under the jurisdiction of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC), and that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church remains without the autocephalous status. It is also noteworthy that Orthodoxy is a shared identity factor for both ethnic groups. Though orthodox faith bonds them, it burdens Ukrainians under the war against Russians. This paper will provide an overview of the myth of "brothers" sharing Orthodoxy. Furthermore, it examines the nature of the problems that Ukraine is facing regarding religion/culture/history of Orthodoxy and reviews a series of issues surrounding current Ukrainian Churches from a broad perspective.特別寄稿(Special Contribution)research repor
