    Analysis on the Clinical Value of Electroencephalogram in Diagnosis of Epilepsy

    Objective: To study the clinical value of electroencephalogram (EEG) in the diagnosis of epilepsy. Methods: 80 patients with epilepsy in the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University from January to December 2019 were taken as research objects. EEG was applied to diagnose and analyze the electrical activity of these patients, results of which were compared with that of clinical diagnosis. Results: According to the statistics, the number of patients with epilepsy diagnosed by clinical manifestations and EEG was 78 and 75 respectively. The accuracy of EEG was calculated to be 96.2%. There was no significant difference between the diagnostic results of these two methods, and the results didn’t reach statistical significance (p>0.05). Conclusion: EEG has high accuracy in detecting and diagnosing epilepsy in clinic, which is worth promoting

A comparison in the effect of DBS and surgical lesioning procedures can determine DBS’s influence on the quality of life and confirm whether it is the most optimal treatment.     On the Construction of Biobank in General Hospitals

    Objective: Discussion on a series of biospecimen related issues are conducted, such as collection and preservation, quality control, as well as management and application, during the construction of human tissue biobank in a general hospital. Methods: To develop a set of standardized operational procedures and to collect tissue samples, such as whole blood, serum, plasma, fresh frozen tissues, cerebrospinal fluid, and paraffin-embedded tissues, which were classified and made aliquots according to different requirements, and stored at -80℃ temperature refrigerator or in liquid nitrogen. At the same time, a set of information management software was used to realize management of the biobank. Results: Currently, there are more than 20,000 specimens of various benign and malignant cases, which cover 380 diseases, being collected in the biological database in our hospital. These specimens include paraffin-embedded tissue, fresh frozen tissue, femoral head, whole blood, plasma, serum and cerebrospinal fluid, etc. A large number of these specimensare beneficial is used in clinical research at present. Conclusion: The establishment of biological sample bank can maximize the value of non-reborn human tissue specimens, and provide normal control standards as well as benign and malignant disease standards for clinical diagnosis and treatment, which is of great significance to the research of disease pathogenesis and the development of detection technology

    Effect of Educational Intervention on Nurses’ Attitude, Intention and Behaviour Towards Family-Centered Care in Pediatric Wards in Iran: A Randomized Control Trial Utilizing Prospect Theory

    Background: The concept, family-centered care (FCC), is used to describe the way families are involved in the health care of hospitalized children. In developing countries, most paediatric wards claim to be ‘family-centered’, which means that the wards adopt a philosophy where parents are acknowledged as being central to their children’s existence. Despite substantial investments in researchers, dissemination and advocacy, huge gap exist between what is known about effective health services and what is done in real world practice. There is no common agreement between health care workers on provision of FCC in Iran. Objectives: To identify the effect of educational intervention on Family-Centered Care model on attitude, intention and behaviour of pediatric nurses. Methods: Participants were randomly assigned to complete a questionnaire assessing paediatric nurses’ attitude towards providing FCC in Iran. Results: There is no significant relationship between socio-demographic characteristics and attitude towards provision of FCC for both intervention and control groups (p>0.05). The mean of behaviour in the intervention group (1.57 unit) increased and difference among pre- and post-tests in behaviour score in the intervention group was significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: The findings have important theoretical implication as theory of planned behaviour verified that nurses’ behaviours changed after educational intervention

    Advances in the treatment of acute severe craniocerebral injury by Chinese and western medicine

    Craniocerebral injury is a common disease in neurosurgery caused by trauma.According to the Glasgow coma score, a person who is unconscious for 6 hours or more after injury or is unconscious again is classified as a severe craniocerebral injury.The patients with severe craniocerebral injury are generally in urgent and critical condition, accounting for about 13%~21% of the proportion of cerebral trauma, and the mortality rate is 30% of the mortality rate of hospitalized patients [1]. Without timely and effective treatment, patients often have poor prognosis and even death. Therefore, only by grasping the golden time of rescue can the patient be out of danger [2]. This paper reviews the effective methods of traditional Chinese and western medicine in treating intracranial infection in recent years to provide more reference programs for clinical treatment

    Discussion on Application of Nursing Risk Management in Physical Examination Center

    Objective: to explore whether the application of nursing risk management in physical examination center has positive significance; Method: 50 patients who received medical examination from December 1st to 31st, 2019 were randomly divided into two groups according to the number of the medical examination card, 25 patients in Group A were given routine nursing management, which will be referred as the control group hereafter while group B with 25 people will have the nursing risk management, which will be referred as the observation group. After all the physical examination items ended, statistical physical examination results and the degree of satisfaction of the physical examination will be recorded. Results: Errors of the observation group in the physical examination process were significantly less than that of the control group (P<0.05) and the degree of satisfaction of physical examinees in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion: The use of nursing risk management in medical examination center can improve the degree of satisfaction of medical examiners and reduce the occurrence of accidents and disputes
