    Impact of Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) Characteristics on Prognosis of Pediatric RMS: a SEER Database Large Population Study

    To provide a better insight into the epidemiology, characteristics, therapeutics, and outcomes of pediatric RMS. Data of 1,623 pediatric RMS were acquired from the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) database. Detailed information on demographics, primary site, size, subtype, stage, surgery, and survival had been recorded during 1975-2016. The most common subtype was embryonal RMS (64.9%) followed by alveolar RMS (29.9%). Additionally, the majority of RMS size was larger than 5 cm. Multivariable analysis exhibited that the age over 10, unfavorable primary site, distant metastasis was respectively correlated with the poor OS, whereas surgery could improve the outcomes of pediatric RMS. In conclusion, our large population-based analysis described that age, subtype, primary tumor sites, stage and surgery are all independent prognosis factors for RMS

    Chlamydia trachomatis (CT), Ureaplasma urealyticum (UU) and Neisseria gonorrhoeae (NG) are the most common pathogens of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), frequently founded in urogenital infections, and showed a criminal role in increasing the risk of potential adverse outcomes. In this study a multiplex PCR assay for the simultaneous detection and accurate identification of 3 clinically relevant pathogens of STIs, i.e., CT, NG and UU in a single tube was developed and evaluated. The limits of detection for the multiplex PCR assay were ~10 copies of DNAs per reaction. This assay has comparable clinical sensitivity to the conventional monoplex real-time PCR assay and considerable potential to be routine molecular diagnostic tool for simultaneous identification of STIs at relatively low cost due to multiplexing

    The Mediating Role of Personality Strengths in the Relationship Between Gender Roles and Occupational Well-Being of Nurses

    Background: The purpose of the study is to explore the relationships amongst gender roles, personality strengths and occupational well-being of nurses in Mainland China. Design: A crossâ€sectional study was used. Method: A total of 318 nurses from a tertiary hospital in Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, were measured with general information questionnaire, gender role scale (simplified version), three-dimensional character advantage questionnaire, and medical worker occupational well-being scale. Results: The character strengths and occupational well-being scores of the nurses in this study were (57.29±7.16) and (79.59±12.67), respectively. Bisexuality in gender roles was positively correlated with personality dominance and occupational well-being (r=0.535, r=0.204,P<0.01); undifferentiated was negatively correlated with both (r=-0.529, r=-0.230,P<0.01); and personality dominance was positively correlated with occupational well-being (r=0.350,P<0.01). In the effect of nurses' gender roles on occupational well-being, personality strengths played a fully mediating role. Conclusion: Gender roles and character strengths are important factors affecting nurses' professional well-being, and gender roles can indirectly affect nurses' professional well-being through character strengths. Clinical nursing managers should take relevant measures to cultivate character strengths appropriate to different gender roles to improve nurses' occupational well-being

    Auto-Encoder and Representation Learning Based MiRNA-Disease Association Prediction

    As expressions of miRNAs are often associated with diseases, understanding the pathophysiology of illness at the miRNA level is beneficial for the treatment and prevention of associated diseases, as well as the creation of related medicines. Recent computational methods for predicting miRNA-disease associations integrate their pertinent heterogeneous data. The difficulty in this study is how to extract the implied associations from sparse data. In the present study, by drawing on natural language processing, a learning-based method is used to extract dense and high-dimensional representations of illnesses and miRNAs from integrated disease semantic similarity, miRNA functional similarity, and heterogeneous related interaction data. To predict disease-miRNA associations, we use a deep autoencoder and its reconstruction error as a measurement. Our experimental results suggest that our strategy is comparable to cutting-edge methods for predicting disease-related miRNAs

    Effect of Pain on Quality of Life in Patients with Parkinson's Disease

    Objective: To analyze the impact of pain on the quality of life of patients with Parkinson's disease. Methods: 200 patients with primary Parkinson's disease admitted in the Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital from August 2019 to November 2020 were selected for the experiment, and these patients were divided into pain group and non-pain group in turn. Among them, there were 98 patients in the pain group and 102 patients in the non-pain group. King's Parkinson's disease pain scale was used to evaluate the severity and type of pain, and then ess and HAMD-17 were used to evaluate patients' depression and daytime sleepiness. Results: the incidence of pain in patients with Parkinson's disease was about 49%, including 38% of wave related pain and 74% of musculoskeletal pain. The score of quality-of-life Scale-39 in the pain group was higher than that in the non-pain group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.01). Conclusion: musculoskeletal pain is a common type of pain in patients with Parkinson's disease, followed by nocturnal pain and fluctuation related pain. Its pain will have a direct impact on the quality of life of patients with Parkinson's disease

    Influencing Factors and Etiological Analysis of Incision Infection after Abdominal Surgery in Patients with Multiple Traumas

    Objective: To analyze the influencing factors and etiological characteristics of postoperative incision infection in patients with multiple traumas. Methods: A retrospective analysis was carried out on the clinical case data of 195 patients with multiple trauma who underwent abdominal surgery in our hospital. All patients were admitted to the hospital from January 2016 to December 2021. According to the information obtained, the postoperative incision infection and pathogen distribution of the patients were counted, and the risk factors affecting postoperative incision infection were analyzed. Results: According to the analysis, after abdominal surgery, 38 patients had incision infection, and the infection rate was 19.49%. Through the cultivation of pathogenic bacteria, there were 54 strains of pathogenic bacteria, and the highest proportion was gram-negative bacteria, which was 59.26%, and the lowest was fungus at 9.26%; through univariate analysis, it was found that age, hospital stay, white blood cells, albumin, diabetes, C-reactive protein, blood loss and ISS score between the infected and uninfected groups. There was a significant difference (P<0.05); multivariate logistic regression analysis found that incision infection in patients with multiple traumas after abdominal surgery was associated with increased age, increased albumin level, combined diabetes, increased blood loss and ISS score factors (P <0.05). Conclusion: For patients with multiple traumas who underwent abdominal surgery, the probability of postoperative incision infection was higher, and gram-negative bacteria were the main pathogenic bacteria, and postoperative infection was not only related to one factor, but it is related to a variety of factors, and appropriate amount of antibiotics should be given according to the actual situation of the patient

    Efficient Screening of nNOS-PSD95 Uncoupling Agents Based on Radiometric Fluorescent Molecularly Imprinted Sensors

    Novel and efficient ratiometric fluorescent molecularly imprinted sensors (RFMIS) based on epitopes were developed, which can be used for the sensitive detection of neuronal nitric oxide synthase in the screening of neuronal nitric oxide synthase-postsynaptic density95 (nNOS-PSD95) coupling inhibitors. Under appropriate conditions, the fluorescence of the carbon dots quenched with the increasing concentration of nNOS1-133, while the fluorescence of the quantum dots remained unchanged. The fluorescence ratio had a good linearity in the concentration range of 0-500 ng mL-1 for nNOS1-133 and the determination limit was 0.14 ng mL-1. Using the classical nNOS-PSD95 coupling inhibitor (ZL006) as a control, the RFMIS were used as the detector to detect the free nNOS released by Gnetol and 2,3,5,4ʹ-tetrahydroxystilbene-2-O-β-Dglucoside from natural medicine after inhibition of nNOS-PSD95. The results have shown that the uncoupling efficiencies was consistent with co-immunoprecipitation experiments. The study provides a new idea and a new way for efficient screening of nature nNOS-PSD95 coupling inhibitors from natural medicine with the advantages of high efficiency, sensitivity and traceability
