Introduction: Endometriosis is a chronic inflammatory condition affecting women of childbearing age worldwide. There are limited roles of medical or surgical treatments. Endometriosis not only affects quality of life but also results in significantly increased healthcare service utilization. The review aims to examine the existing literature to gain a comprehensive understanding of healthcare resource utilization in endometriosis patients across different countries. Methods: The systematic review was conducted to include studies on healthcare utilization among endometriosis patients from January 2000 to 2023. The search was conducted in Medline and Embase databases. Search terms related to endometriosis and healthcare resource utilization were used. Studies published in English with data on healthcare utilization across inpatient, outpatient, emergency care, and other services (such as specialist and primary care physician) were included. The studies only examined the cost- or cost-effective analysis were excluded. Results: Women with endometriosis experience a higher prevalence of gynecological and abdominal pain-related conditions, along with a greater burden of comorbidities and infertility issues. They also exhibit significantly higher healthcare utilization across various healthcare settings, including emergency care, inpatient visits, outpatient visits, and specialist care. These utilization differences remain significant up to one year before the diagnosis and persist for at least five years following the diagnosis, with the highest disparity observed in the first year after diagnosis. Conclusion: The systematic review examines the health-seeking behavior and healthcare utilization patterns among women diagnosed with endometriosis across different countries. The findings indicate that women with endometriosis experience a higher burden of medical comorbidities and exhibit increased rates of emergency care visits, inpatient visits, and outpatient visits

With the rapid development of modern medical technology, the maturity of orthopaedic technologies, and the improvement of people's quality of life, more and more people choose surgical treatment. The improvement of the overall medical concept requires us to pay equal attention to the psychological education and care of patients while improving the level of diagnosis and treatment. Compared with other surgical operations, orthopedic surgery is characterized by large trauma, more bleeding, long operation time and slow postoperative functional recovery. The psychological burden of patients before and after surgery is heavy, which directly affects the success rate of surgery . Whether the operation can achieve the desired effect depends not only on the success of the operation itself, but also on whether the preparation and nursing before and after the operation are correct and perfect. The research team made specific analysis and report in combination with Guangzhou Medical University and Chifeng University and make a visual medical information management system for research

According to Chinese medicine, lung cancer is a malignant tumour with cough, haemoptysis, chest pain, fever and shortness of breath as its main manifestations. Its causes are: deficiency of positive qi, external invasion of evil toxins, internal accumulation of phlegm, stagnation of qi and blood, obstruction in the lung and loss of suction and descent of the lung. Blood stasis is the main cause of lung cancer, therefore, activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis is an important principle in the treatment of lung cancer. In recent years, the anti-cancer mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine and its extracts has gradually received academic attention, and the herbs that invigorate blood circulation and remove blood stasis have been widely used in clinical practice. This article introduces the mechanism of the action of Chinese medicine to invigorate blood circulation and remove blood stasis in the treatment of lung cancer in recent years, which provides a reference for clinical treatment and new drug development

Tumorâ€Associated Macrophages in the Progression of Hepatocellular Carcinoma

    Get PDF
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) contains many immune cell matrices, which constitute the tumor microenvironment (TME). Tumor-associated macrophages (TAM) are the main compartments of immune cell matrix in HCC, which play an important role in the pathogenesis of HCC, including immunosuppression, angiogenesis, tumor invasion and metastasis, and malignant transformation of HCC stem cells. At present, targeted TAM therapy for HCC has achieved promising results by eliminating existing TAMs, blocking the recruitment of TAMs, reprogramming TAMs polarization, regulating TAMs products and restoring TAMs phagocytosis. This review summarizes our understanding of TAMs and HCC, and discusses the role of TAMs in the development of HCC

Cardiovascular disease is a serious threat to human life and health. The number of people who die from cardiovascular disease is up to 15 million every year, ranking the first cause of all causes of death. ADAMTS family (A Disintegrin and Metalloproteinase With Thrombospondin Motifs, ADAMTSs) are matrix-associated zinc metallopeptidases with secretory function. It has diverse roles in tissue morphogenesis, pathophysiological remodeling, inflammation, and vascular biology. Controlling the structure and function of the Extracellular Matrix (ECM) is the central theme of the biology of ADAMTSs. ADAMTSs mainly play a biological role by regulating the structure and function of extracellular mechanisms, and the abnormal expression or dysfunction of some family members is associated with cardiovascular diseases. ADAMTS family plays an important role in the occurrence and development of various cardiovascular diseases. This paper aims to study the role of ADAMTS family in cardiovascular diseases
