THE MOST IMPORTANT NWFPS FROM DAMBOVITA COUNTY IDENTIFIED THROUGH THE ANALYTICAL HIERARCHY PROCESS
The present paper analyses the main non-wood forest products (NWFPs) characteristic to Dâmboviţa County, by using a specialised decision-making analysis software based on the analytical hierarchy process (AHP). The work starts with a short description of Dâmboviţa County and of the NWFP concept. This is followed by the method in which the analysed products were grouped, as well as their analysis and classification method based on 19 criteria. Furthermore, the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) is also well explained and defined. A total number of eight NWFP were analysed, belonging to the following categories: mushrooms, products originating from trees, plants and animals. The results section presents the most important non-wood products from Dâmboviţa County as well as the advantages and disadvantages of the analysed criteria. Based on the obtained results, the most important NWFPs from Dâmboviţa County are Cantharellues cibarius and Sorbus torminalis, while the least important one is Alium ursinum
VEGETAL TAXA WITH HIGH SOZOLOGICAL DEGREE WITHIN OLTENIA, ROMANIA (I)
The main objective of the paper is to update the chorology data for the plant taxa within Oltenia, which are characterized by high sozological degree. The present paper highlights some of the vascular plants that have undergone changes in their spreading area, or the disappearance from certain stations mentioned in the field literature and in the herbarium of the University of Craiova (C.R.A.), as well as those taxa for which new chorological data are presented: Acanthus balcanicus Heywood & I. Richardson, Aphanes australis Holub, Carex secalina Willd. ex Wahlenb., Dianthus trifasciculatus Kit. in Schult, Hordeum bulbosum L., Salvia sclarea L., Silene borysthenica (Gruner) Walters, Alyssum montanum L. subsp. gmelinii (Jord.) Em. Scmid in Hegi, Medicago polymorpha L., Rumex tuberosus L., Trifolium michelianum Savi şi Fimbristylis bisumbellata (Forssk.) Bubani
THE CLIMATE CHANGE MITIGATION THROUGH AGRICULTURAL BIOTECHNOLOGIES
Climate changes are topical, and some of the changes observed are unprecedented. The impact of climate changes on the nature, economy and people's health varies across the world, depending on the region and territory, as well as the economic sector affected. Agriculture is one of the sectors most exposed to these changes because it is dependent on the weather conditions. Agricultural biotechnologies play an important role in facilitating adaptation to climate changing conditions, and help farmers to adapt their production to this new challenge. Through biotechnology, agricultural crops have a higher productivity, plants have a higher resistance to pests and diseases and farmers use less energy. Also, the green biotechnology offers a solution to decrease greenhouse gases and therefore mitigates the climate changes effects. The biotechnology revolution is currently experiencing an unprecedented boom, and long-term food security has all the prerequisites to be ensured, even under the current climate change conditions
CONSIDERATIONS CONCERNING THE VALORIZATION OF THE JUICE OBTAINED FROM SUGAR SORGHUM STALK FROM ALCOHOL
 With a high production per hectare, sugar sorghum is a high value technical plant for farmers because from an average production of 70-80 t/ha, a high quantity of juice can be obtained, which can be used as such in the food industry (natural sweetener) or processed for the purpose of obtaining alcohol. The alcohol has a higher value/liter, can be stored more easily and its uses are multiple: in the food, pharmaceutical, chemical industry, etc
CURIOSITIES ABOUT THE ARTEMISIA COLLECTIONS FROM "ALEXANDRU BELDIE" HERBARIUM
         The present paper presents show characteristic aspects of Artemisia samples present in "Alexandru Beldie" Herbarium. The first part of the article presents some characteristics of this herbarium hosted by "Marin Drăcea" National Institute for Research and Development in Forestry. The material consisted of 187 vouchers that contain Artemisia samples. These vouchers were synthesized in order to emphasize the main characteristics of this genus. As such, the development dynamic of these collections was created and graphically rendered over time, followed by a map with the main European harvesting areas from where samples were collected. Romanian and foreign botanic personalities that have identified and archived Artemisia plants in this herbarium are also mentioned. The article ends with an emphasis of the usage and importance of plants belonging to this genus

This will have an impact on research, technologies, manufacturing processes and people by connecting many products to the Internet, the presence of sensors, the expansion of wireless communications, the development of industrial robots and intelligent machines, the analysis of real-time data in order to transform how the research is conducted. PARTICULARITIES REGARDING THE EXECUTION OF THINNINGS IN TURKEY OAK AND HUNGARIAN OAK STANDS FROM SOUTHERN ROMANIA
The study reveals the results of undertaken research concerning the Hungarian oak and Turkey oak stands in southern Romania, which capture the structural changes following the execution of thinnings in this type of stands. The obtained results, having a great practicability, show that the present structure of the studied stands is far from the optimal one, established in relation to the set type of management objective and their functions. The study also highlights the importance of systematic covering of stands with thinnings and respecting their cycle. In the end, the study gives practical recommendations concerning the mode of intervention (in thinnings execution), consisting of choosing the trees to be extracted in order to improve the stands structure, growth and quality and their functional effectiveness, as well as directing their present composition towards the target composition
A STUDY REGARDING THE ACTUAL STATE OF ART FOR TECHNOLOGIES AND EQUIPMENT`S USED TO SEPARATE THE SEA BUCKTHORN FRUITS FROM HARVESTED BRANCHES
In the Phyto-pharmaceutical products industry, the sea buckthorn extracts are very valuable in many European countries and for this reason are manufactured many products that use different plant parts (fruits, seeds, lives, etc.). The bioproduct marketing policies and alternative medicine (especially to new-borns) promote products to stimulate the immune system and to provide large vitamin concentration, from this reason the sea buckthorn plantations were established in many rural Romanian regions, but nowadays the fruit harvesting process involves cutting the branches, process that requires a lot of labour and a long period of time, more than that, the transport, handling, cleaning and fruit separation operations that are included in well-controlled technology designed to reduce fruit loss and damage. To support sea buckthorn plantation holders and processors, the INMA directs its expertise to make a study regarding the actual state of art on technologies and equipment`s used to separate the sea buckthorn fruit from the harvested branches in the developed countries, which also take the lead on the market
THE BEHAVIOR OF VARIETIES OF JERUSALEM ARTICHOKE ON THE SANDY SOILS FROM SOUTH OF OLTENIA
The Jerusalem artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus) is considered a species with relatively high tolerance to water stress and very high adaptability to extremes of unfavorable factors - drought resistance, at extremely high temperatures (350- 450C the plants and -300 -450C the tubers). The tubers with high inulin content are formed on the root branches and are increasingly used as food for patients with diabetes. The variety is one of the main factors of the technology, the cultivation of a variety should be done only after a preliminary test regarding its adaptability to the natural environmental factors. On the sandy soils from Dabuleni were studied the varieties Dacic, Olimp, Rustic and the local population Dăbuleni. It was noted by the number of tubers/plant the Olimp variety with 60.4 stems/plant, and the highest weight of a tuber was recorded in the Rustic variety (51.6 g/tuber). The highest production was made at the Olimp variety, respectively 70.03 t/ha, corresponding to the largest number of tubers harvested at a plant, followed by the production of the Rustic variety of 51.97t/ ha. At the Dacic variety, 15.6 t/ha were obtained, and the local population of Dăbuleni achieved the lowest production (6.45 t/ha). The inulin content was between 12.49% in the Rustic variety and 14.47% in the Olimp variety. Dacic varieties and local population Dăbuleni were highlighted by high in total dry matter, soluble dry matter and soluble carbohydrates, and Rustic varieties and local population Dabuleni were high in vitamin C content (14.92-14.96 mg)
NANOMATERIALS FORHEAVY METALS REMOVAL FROM WASTEWATER
Human, agricultural, industrial, and mining activities generate large quantities of wastewater contaminated with toxic and non-biodegradable heavy metals such as As, Cr, Cd, Co, Cu, Hg, Ni, Pb and Zn.To avoid the harmful effects of heavy metals on terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems and on human health, it is essential to develop and implement innovative technologies for the removal of these toxic and hazardous pollutants from wastewater.In wastewater treatment, and particularly in nanotechnology applications, many efficient, ecological and cost-effective nanomaterials have been developed, having unique functions of heavy metals removal from industrial effluents, surface waters, groundwater and drinking water.Due to their antimicrobial properties, nanoparticles are also used for wastewater disinfection and microbial control
