    THE INFLUENCE OF CLIMATE CONDITIONS ON THE NUTRITIONAL QUALITY OF SOME POTATO LINES TESTED IN CULTURE ON SANDY SOILS FROM SOUTHERN OLTENIA

    In this paper are presented the results regarding the biochemical composition of the 7 potato lines studied at Dăbuleni Research-Development Station for Plant Culture on Sands in conditions of thermo-hydric stress. The obtained results highlighted differentiations depending on the genotype and depending on the climatic conditions of the 2 years of study (2020-2021). A high content of total dry matter, above the average of 22.87% presented 4 of the 7 potato lines studied, the highest values being recorded at line L 1901/11 (27.09%). Starch, the main biochemical component of potato tubers, showed values between 12.86% in 2020 and 13.08% in 2021, the highest average values of starch content in tubers being determined in line L 1895/1. The vitamin C content was higher in all the lines studied in the climatic conditions of 2021 year

    Harvesting grapes at optimum maturity is an essential condition for obtaining wines of the desired quality. The ripening of the grapes is a dynamic process, that is why the physico-chemical parameters followed for the evaluation of the quantity and quality of the harvest are constantly changing both in terms of their values and the relationships between them. Harvesting grapes at maturity corresponding to the type of wine to be obtained requires rigorous monitoring of the dynamics of maturation. In the Drăgăşani vineyard, the local varieties, older or newer, enjoy a special appreciation. In order to be able to highlight its full qualitative potential, harvesting grapes at optimal maturity is the first condition, especially in the wine-growing years characterized by special climatic conditions, such as 2021

    Soils used in intense agriculture are prone for degradation. Farmers try to reduce the soil degradation with different treatments and amendments based on organic waste materials. Organic amendments are heterogenous mixtures and induced in soils several infections with microorganisms. Bio-coals are cheap source that can be considered a solution in replacement of organic amendments to provide safe soils. The study is a preliminary study and has in view the effect of soils treated with bio-coal over the ESHERICHIA COLI and LYSTERIA INNOCUA development. Next studies will follow the effect of soils treated with bio-coal over the plants growing up in selected soils

    INFLUENCE OF VEGETATIVE ROOTSTOCKS ON BIOLOGICAL AND PRODUCTION PROPERTIES OF SWEET CHERRY CULTIVAR ‘REGINA` IN EARLY BEARING PERIOD

    The study researched the influence of four vegetative rootstocks on a biological and production properties of sweet cherry cultivar ‘Regina`. The study was carried out during fourth and fifth growing years at an orchard located at the experimental estate "Radmilovac" of the Faculty of Agriculture in Belgrade. Cultivar ‘Regina` was grafted on the following rootstocks: ‘Gisela 6`, ‘Ma×Ma 14`, ‘Colt` and ‘OblaÄinska cherry`, while trees grafted on P. mahaleb used like a control. The highest yield had trees grafted on rootstock ‘Gisela 6` (6.5 kg), while the smallest yield had trees grafted on seedlings of P. mahaleb (1.4 kg). Cultivar ‘Regina` had the highest number of sper fruiting branches on ‘Colt` (367.2) and the smallest number was recorded on P. mahaleb (154.8), while number of lateral fruiting branches on trees of cultivar ‘Regina` was between 91.6 (‘MaxMa 14`) and 42.2 (‘OblaÄinska cherry`). The highest content of soluble solid matter and sweetness in fruit were on the trees grafted on P. mahaleb

    Unmanned aerial systems (UAS) have a crucial contribution to the development of precision agriculture (PA). Agricultural drones or agri-drones make the rapid transition from the military system (UAVs) to domestic applications in the PA, in order to provide the necessary support to farmers for the surveillance of large crops and / or in carrying out operations to protect or stimulate crops. This revolutionary leap contributes to the considerable savings of the farmer, as well as to the revolution of traditional agriculture towards intelligent agriculture or PA. Managerial decisions based on the three principles presented in the paper (EVI - Enhanced Vegetation Index, ZP - Zero Pollution and ROI - Return on Investment) are easier to make through the approach driven by digital technology. The information-based management cycle lays foundations for sustainable PA of the future (agriculture-5.0)

    THE EFFECTS OF WASTEWATER IRRIGATION ON AGRICULTURAL SOILS

    In arid and semi-arid areas, wastewater is often recovered for crop irrigation, contributing to the sustainable agriculture. Although positive effects have been observed on crop yields (50-80% growth) due to wastewater nutrients, the reuse of untreated wastewater harms both the environment and human health. Soil is mostly affected by excess salts, sodium, nutrients and heavy metals in wastewater. High salinity affects the upper layer of soil (0–30 cm); sodium and chlorine reduce crop yields by 40%; high content of organic matter in wastewater decreases soil pH, and heavy metals and pathogens enter the food chain. Irrigation technology is also important: sodium and salinity are higher in sprinkler than in furrow or subsurface irrigation; subsurface drip irrigation is more effective in reducing soil pathogens than surface drip irrigation.     IMPLEMENTING ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE IN TIMES OF CRISIS: THE CASE OF GREEK MINISTRY OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND FOOD

    The recent Greek economic crisis between 2008 and 2018 called for radical amendments in the public administration that ultimately affected various structures and processes. The present study endeavors to explore the determinants of administrative and organizational changes in the public administration of the Greek Ministry of Rural Development and Food during the time of crisis. Primary data were gathered through a qualitative survey with public officers and stakeholders and were gauged through a Delphi policy framework. The results of the study indicated that, according to expert`s opinion, the public administration was neither prepared to efficiently confront the crisis nor the changes that followed. Stakeholders on the other hand, claim that despite all the changes that have occurred, the level of bureaucracy seems to be unaffected and that there is the need for public services to be enhanced
