Recent change of physics record
P(論文)As the media report frequently, it is a fear that the academic ability of students is lowering by the effect ofthe government course and a decline in the number of births. It is also a fear how the academic ability of students inour college is. In this paper, I report the recent change of physics record and analyzed this cause and the background. The amount of data is not sufficient and we cannot say definitely, but the physics record might be lowering rapidlyand it might be the effect of the government course.departmental bulletin pape
Planning of Proof by means of Sequents
P(論文)In a heuristic process of proof in mathematics, we try not only forward derivations from the assumptionssuch as `from A, we get B' but also backward derivations from the conclusion such as `in order to get A, we needB'. As the result, the order of the propositions in accomplished proof is different from the order in which we getthose propositions in the heuristic process. For planning of proof, it is important to express what we want to provenow and what we have got so far at each step in the heuristic process. However, this expression is different fromthe proof itself by the above reason. In this paper, we suggest a method of planning proof by using `sequents' forthe expression of assumptions and conclusions. For a concrete study, we use the first order NK system of Gentzento explain our method. Our method gives an algorithm to prove arbitrary tautologies of the first order NK system, and is also valid for practical mathematics which is not necessarily formalized in symbolic logic.departmental bulletin pape
Participation by Mechanical Engineering Students in Design Contests
P(論文)The Department of Production Systems Engineering at Tokyo Metropolitan College of Technology has encouraged the application of 3D-CAD technology to mechanical design since the introduction of 3D-CAD to the mechanical design program in 1995. In particular, students have attempted to apply 3D-CAD and other digital engineering technologies learned in the department to the industrial design of environmentally friendly products. Students have even entered their completed concept designs in several contests in Japan. Although no mechanical engineering students had ever participated in such contests, the Production Systems Engineering students achieved good results, winning various prizes. Because the students' 3D-CAD designs were appreciated by third parties at design contests, we are now thinking of extending the 3D-CAD program to the field of industrial design.departmental bulletin pape
An Analysis of the Results of the Proficiency Tests in English of the Students in T. M. C. I. T and Prospects for the Future
P(論文)The first and second year students in Shinagawa campus of Tokyo Metropolitan College of Industrial Technology took the Global Test of English Communication (GTEC) for the student as a proficiency test for the first time this year. This article investigates the results of the tests as to reading, listening and writing. The results show that their knowledge of words, especially verbs and prepositions, is insufficient. Therefore, they need to enrich their vocabulary. Additionally, we should teach them the skills for reading, like scanning and skimming. Although their scores are not as high as the average of the whole country, their ability in listening and writing has a huge potential for improving.departmental bulletin pape
Design Education Attempted Using 3D-CAD
P(論文)Since 1995, 3D-CAD has been a critical component of mechanical design education in the Department of Production Systems Engineering at Tokyo Metropolitan College of Technology. The quality of the department's mechanical design program has been reviewed, and the department has consequently received the JSME Education Award from The Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME). Current trends in digital engineering demand digital industrial designs of the utmost quality and efficiency. For this reason, we seek to investigate the possibility of new design programs that employ 3D-CAD in engineering education applications. This paper reports such a program implemented by our college.departmental bulletin pape
Basic Education on Motion Control in College of Industrial Technology
P(論文)Motion control means theories and technologies about the control of general motion. In 1990,the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan set up the Advanced Motion Control Investigation ExpertCommittee and held the first IEEE International Workshop on Advanced Motion Control. Since then, motion control has developed rapidly and continually. It is now greatly expected to be going to contributeto the society as a fundamental technology of industrial technology, transport technology, robotics andmechatronics. However, the motion control education in industrial colleges is more insufficient than inuniversities at present. Therefore, the motion control education is indispensable in industrial collegeswhich develop manufacturing specialists of industrial. In this paper, approaches in basic education onmotion control in industrial college are reported.departmental bulletin pape
