Álvaro Miranda: la recreación del reino del Caribe, sus voces y sus silencios y la deconstrucción del canon poético de Occidente
Get PDFResumen: Este artículo plantea un análisis de la poética de Álvaro Miranda desde una perspectiva caribeño-céntrica. La tesis principal gira en torno a la construcción que Miranda hace de una estética autónoma y la deconstrucción del paradigma estético occidental a través de la validación del paisaje autóctono, la edificación de un lenguaje netamente caribeño y la revisión de la historia de la región y de la manera como se contó. El trabajo plantea, además, una revisión de los elementos de las poéticas de autores del Caribe colombiano y de las Indias Occidentales con los que Miranda entabla permanente diálogo para edificar su novedosa propuesta estética. En últimas, el artículo intenta demostrar que la obra de Miranda engloba las propuestas de sus predecesores en el Caribe colombiano y posee similares características a las de los poetas del Caribe insular que han propugnado la autonomización de la estética caribeña. Get PDFRESUMENEn este artículo me propongo presentar algunos rasgos de la vida de este pintor, y analizar lo quesignifi caba ser un ejercitante de las bellas artes para una persona de color en la Cartagena de Indiasde fi nales del siglo XVIII. Los rasgos biográfi cos de este pintor permiten ver cómo era la sociedadcartagenera de la Colonia tardía, las aspiraciones de estos hombres de color, y los medios que emplearonen procura de mejorar el estatus social. El artículo está organizado en tres apartes. En elprimero expongo algunas ideas generales sobre la sociedad cartagenera de finales del siglo XVIIIy la importancia que tuvo la vida miliciana para los artesanos de esta ciudad. En el segundo abordolas relaciones entre el arte de la pintura y los demás ofi cios artesanales. PRÁCTICAS DE LECTURA Y ESCRITURA EN LA UNIVERSIDAD ¿QUÉ Y CÓMO LEEN Y ESCRIBEN LOS ESTUDIANTES DE LICENCIATURAS?
Get PDFRESUMENEl presente artículo hace parte de los resultados de un estudio etnográfi co acerca de las prácticas de lectura y escritura que se llevan a cabo en las licenciaturas de una universidad del Caribe colombiano.Los resultados que se presentan son provenientes de la aplicación de dos encuestas: una a estudiantes y otra a profesores de las licenciaturas, como también, de la realización de una entrevista a estudiantes de esas mismas licenciaturas. Los propósitos específi cos en este estudio fueron los siguientes: Describir e interpretar los tipos de textos que leen y escriben los estudiantes de licenciaturas, las fuentes de información que más utilizan y las difi cultades que tienen a la hora de leer y escribir un texto académico. El estudio toma como fundamento teórico el concepto de alfabetización académica, Johns (1997), Gee (1999), Clark e Ivanic (1998), Carlino (2005), Lea & Street (1998), Cassany (2008), Parodi (2010) y Teberoski (2007). La metodología del estudio es cualitativa con un método de investigación etnográfi ca. Las encuestas se aplicaron a 95 docentes y a 781 estudiantes. Las entrevistas se realizaron con estudiantes de último semestre pertenecientes a 10 licenciaturas de una universidad del Caribe colombiano. Los resultados revelan que lo que más está afectando las prácticas de lectura y escritura en estas licenciaturas son: las fuentes de información que están consultando los estudiantes y la manera como elaboran los ensayos que escriben. También se determinó que los estudiantes tienen difi cultades para leer y escribir textos académicos por cuanto desconocen en su totalidad la terminología científi ca.Palabras claveLectura, Escritura, Prácticas de lectura y escritura, Etnografía.ABSTRACTThis article is part of the results of an ethnographic study about literacy practices that are carried out in a university degree in the Colombian Caribbean. The results presented are from the application of two surveys: one for students and other teachers of the degrees, as well, for conducting an interview with students of the same degrees. The specifi c purposes in this study were the following:Describe and interpret the types of texts that students read and write, the more sources of information that students used for reading and writing texts and the diffi culties that students havefor reading and writing of these texts. The study builds upon the theoretical concept of academic literacy, Johns (1997), Gee (1999), Clark and Ivanic (1998), Carlino (2005), Lea and Street (1998),Cassany (2008), Parodi (2010) and Teberoski (2007). The methodology of the study is a qualitative ethnographic research method. The surveys were applied to 95 teachers and 781 students.Interviews were conducted with students last semester belonging to 10 degrees from a university in the Colombian Caribbean. The results reveal that what is affecting the practices of reading and writing in these degrees are the sources of information that are consulting students and how they write the tests made. INESTABILIDAD POLÍTICA: FACTORES Y CAUSAS EN EL CAMBIO DE GOBERNADORES DEL ATLÁNTICO Y ALCALDES DE BARRANQUILLA DURANTE EL FRENTE NACIONAL*
Get PDFRESUMENEl presente artículo hace un recorrido histórico para analizar la inestabilidad política durante el período del Frente Nacional (1958-1974) de alcaldes y gobernadores para la ciudad de Barranquilla y el departamento del Atlántico. En primera instancia consolida con base en información primaria la duración de los respectivos períodos y posteriormente, basándose en fuentes primarias y secundarias analiza la situación histórica en que se dieron los cambios, para englobarlos en cuatro razones básicas: la división política local, la pérdida de respaldo político por parte de un mandatario, crisis de la política nacional refl ejada en la política local y cambio de presidente o de gobernador.Palabras claveFrente Nacional, Inestabilidad política, Cambio de gobernadores, Cambio de alcaldes.ABSTRACTThis article gives a historical overview to analyze the political instability during the period of the National Front (1958-1974) of mayors and governors for the city of Barranquilla and the Atlántico department. In the first stage of procceding, it consolidates the length of the respective periods based on primary information and then, based on primary and secondary sources, it analyzes the historical situation in which the changes occurred. ALGUNAS CONCEPCIONES ESPACIALES DE LOS PESCADORES DE BUENAVENTURA, PACÍFICO COLOMBIANO
Get PDFRESUMENExisten concepciones en diversas comunidades del mundo sobre el universo y el entorno sociogeográfico que sin duda alguna ponen en cuestión el alcance de la teoría científi ca para interpretar la naturaleza. La realidad no se establece por una teoría sino por la sociedad que la crea tal como lo plantea Berger (1993). Un caso concreto son las concepciones que tienen los pescadores de Buenaventura, en el Pacífi co colombiano, cuyas interpretaciones o análisis sobre las interacciones entre la Tierra, la Luna y el Sol, y por ende sus consecuencias como direcciones de los vientos, cambios de la marea como la puja y la quiebra y otros comportamientos, devela una realidad extraordinaria que muestra otro tipo de pensamiento matemático, en particular otras concepciones espaciales que reafi rman la teoría de que las matemáticas son un fenómeno cultural, que son desarrolladas por todos los grupos social o culturalmente diferenciados y que las leyes de Kepler,** al igual que la teoría científi ca, culturalmente hablando, no son universales o parcialmente concebidas.Palabras claveConcepciones espaciales, Etnomatemáticas, Pescadores, Pacífi co colombiano.ABSTRACTThere are concepts in various communities around the world about the universe and the geographical socio certainly call into question the scope of scientifi c theory to interpret nature. The reality is not established by theory but by the society that creates it as stated by Berger (1993). LA PROBLEMATIZACIÓN DE LA EPISTEME, DEL PLIEGUE Y DE LAS CIENCIAS HUMANAS EN MICHEL FOUCAULT. UNA APROXIMACIÓN DESDE ÉDGAR GARAVITO
Get PDFRESUMENEn este artículo se analiza el concepto episteme de Michel Foucault bajo la mirada del fi lósofocolombiano Édgar Garavito Pardo, interpretación que se hace dentro del contexto de la Filosofíamoderna. Igualmente se hace una aproximación al concepto imagen-pensamiento de Garavito paraentender desde esta perspectiva la visión del fi lósofo colombiano sobre el tema de las cronotopías o de la estética del discurso dentro del lenguaje foucaultiano. Luego el texto nos devela un Foucaultque nos plantea que el lugar y la distancia son contenidos del espacio, cuya extensión es su forma,que la simultaneidad, la distancia, la duración, la permanencia son contenidos del tiempo, para luegoentrar a analizarlos dentro del concepto "asiedad", recomendado por el profesor Édgar Garavitopara entender la propuesta del fi lósofo francés de las líneas de fuga y su verdadera signifi cacióndentro de la propuesta de pliegue y nomadismo que caracterizan su pensamiento. Is also an approach to image-thinking concept Garavito from this perspective to understand the vision of the Colombian philosopher on the subject of chronotopes or aesthetic discourse within Foucault'slanguage. Then the text reveals to us a Foucault posed to us that the location and distance are contained in space, with the extension form, which concurrency, distance, duration, time remaining are content and then analyze them to enter the concept of "asiedad", recommended by Professor Edgar Garavito to understand the proposal of French philosopher creepage and its true signifi cance within the proposed folding and nomadism that characterized his thinking. LA DEMOCRACIA PARTICIPATIVA A PARTIR DE LA CONSTITUCIÓN DE 1991
Get PDFRESUMENDesde hace más de un siglo Colombia ha tenido una inestabilidad constitucional. Ello se puede palpar –por así decirlo– en las ocho grandes reformas que tuvo la centenaria constitución de 1886 del presidente Núñez. Y no se habla de inestabilidad constitucional, a pesar de los tantos hechos violentos que la estremecieron, incluido un golpe de estado, ni porque se haya visto amenazado el establecimiento, sino porque la constitución sufre de manera constante enmiendas, que cambian su rumbo y le hacen perder la esencia. En este orden de ideas, nació la constitución de 1991, frente a la cual cabe preguntar ¿existe una verdadera democracia participativa en nuestro país, que permita que la gente del común participe en la toma de sus propias decisiones?Palabras claveColombia, Democracia participativa, Desarrollo, Historia, Asamblea Nacional.ABSTRACTColombia has had a constitutional instability for more than a century. This is palpable –so to speak– in the eight major reforms that had the 1886 constitution centennial of president Núñez. And we do not talk about constitutional instability, despite the many violent events that shooked, including a coup d’etat, nor because they have been threatened the establishment, but because the constitution constantly suffers amendments, which change their direction and they lose the essence. RESEÑA HISTÓRICA: DERECHOS PATRIMONIALES DE LAS PAREJAS DEL MISMO SEXO EN EL ORDENAMIENTO JURÍDICO COLOMBIANO Y LA PERSISTENCIA DEL DÉFICIT EN ESTOS DERECHOS
Get PDFRESUMEN Desde la independencia de la República, la homosexualidad ha sido invisibilizada en el ordenamiento jurídico colombiano. En el año 1936 se expidió la primera norma legal que penalizaba esta conducta. Posteriormente se expidieron ciertas normas que situaban a la homosexualidad y al homoerotismo en ambivalencia notoria, en su penalización, finalmente se despenalizó en el año 1980. Con la expedición de la Constitución Política de 1991 se dio el reconocimiento de derechos fundamentales y mecanismos para su protección. Durante el desarrollo jurisprudencial del texto constitucional, se han extendido ciertos derechos individuales y patrimoniales a las personas sexualmente diversas y parejas del mismo sexo respectivamente, sin embargo siguen sin contemplarse el matrimonio y la adopción de menores por parte de parejas del mismo sexo. La Corte Constitucional reconoció por medio de su sentencia C-577/11 que las parejas del mismo sexo están inmersas en un déficit de derechos, el cual debe ser subsanado por el Congreso de la República, en lo que a derechos patrimoniales respecta. ABSTRACT Since the independence of the Republic, homosexuality has been invisible in the Colombian legal system. In 1936 was issued the first statute criminalizing this conduct. Subsequently issued rules that placed certain homosexuality and homoeroticism in notorious ambivalence in his penalty, finally decriminalized in 1980. With the issuance of the 1991 Constitution gave recognizing fundamental rights and mechanisms for their protection. During the development of the jurisprudence of the Constitution, have spread certain personal and property rights of sexually diverse people and same-sex couples respectively, but are still considered marriage and adoption of children by same-sex couples. The Constitutional Court recognized through its judgment C-577/11 that same-sex couples are engaged in a rights deficit, which must be remedied by the Congress, as far as regards economic rights.
