Management of Radial Nerve Palsy w.s.r. to Ekangavata and Marmaghat - A Case Study
Nervous disorders occurs due to imbalance of Vata Dosha. Acharyas considered nerve impulses to be kind of air travelling through the body. Vata Dosha is responsible for sensory & motor functions of body. In Ayurveda, various nervous disorders and their symptoms are not clumped under heading of single disease, rather they are described as types of Vata Vyadhi. Among nervous disorders, peripheral nerve injuries are most commonly encountered in day-to-day practice. One of the commonest peripheral nerves to be injured is Radial nerve. Radial nerve palsy is condition caused due to injury to radial nerve which leads to wrist drop and functional disabilities, In the present case scenario radial nerve is damaged due to compression of radial nerve as a result of prolonged pressure on arm and systemic condition like Diabetes. In the context of Ayurveda, the underlying cause of Radial nerve palsy is often attributed to aggravation of Vata Dosha. Acharya Charaka and Madhavkara mentioned features of Ekangavata characterized by localized paralysis or monoplegia. All etiological factors and manifestation of Ekangavata are quite resembling with radial nerve palsy. Hence, we can correlate Ekangavata with Radial nerve palsy. Another important etiological aspect regarding radial nerve palsy which needs to explore is Marmaghata. We have noticed that, in this case Bahavi Marma and Aani Marma are more prone for the injury, which might have led to the complaints of wrist drop and functional disabilities. we treated this case successfully with Upanah Swedan, Balya, Vatashamak and Pramehaghna Chikitsa

A critical review on different methods of Shodhana of Gandhaka w.s.r. to its Chemical Characteristics
Introduction: Gandhaka has always been an interesting non- metal to be studied by Ayurvedic scholars. Its ability to exist in different forms and exhibiting different characteristics intrigued our ancestors. Hence Gandhaka is given importance second to Parada. Materials & Methods: Gandhaka Shodhana can be carried out in different ways, of which 4 unique methods are compiled and analysed in detail. The methods incorporated Dalana, Swedana, Patana and Puta method. Discussion: Sulphur exists in different allotropes. Each allotrope exhibits different chemical properties which are utilized by our Acharyas in intelligent ways. Conclusion: Gandhaka even fascinates the present-day scientists and is being studied in detail. If properly studied by Ayurvedic scholars, it can be valuable addition to the field of Rasachikitsa
A randomized controlled clinical study on the efficacy of Chinnadi Kashaya in Amlapitta (Chronic Gastritis)
Nearly 25–30% of Indians suffer from Amlapitta or chronic gastritis. In this open-label, randomised clinical study, the effectiveness of Patoladi Kwatha and Chinnadi Kashayam in treating Amlapitta (chronic gastritis) was studied. Heartburn, nausea, and indigestion are some of the symptoms of Amlapitta, a disorder associated with the vitiation of Pitta dosha brought on by unhealthy eating and lifestyle choices. Two groups of forty Amlapitta patients were formed: For 30 days, Group B received Patoladi Kwatha, while Group A received Chinnadi Kashaya. When compared to Patoladi Kwatha, observations revealed that Chinnadi Kashaya had considerably reduced symptoms such as bloating, acid reflux, and indigestion. On the other hand, Patoladi Kwatha was far more effective in lowering appetite loss and fatigue. With each formulation providing distinctive benefits, these results offer credence to the therapeutic implementation of Ayurvedic medicines in the management of disorders like gastritis. The study demonstrates the therapeutic potential of both Ayurvedic formulations in treating digestive diseases, primarily Amlapitta, and indicates that Chinnadi Kashaya may provide superior overall comfort. Both formulations exhibited no adverse reactions. The long-term consequences and possible combinations of these medicines need to be investigated further
Clinical management of Psoriasis (Eka Kushtha) through Ayurvedic interventions: A case study highlighting the efficacy of Shila Sindura and Integrative Therapies
Background: Psoriasis, a chronic autoimmune condition, manifests as erythemato-squamous lesions with significant physical and psychological distress. In Ayurveda, psoriasis can be correlated with Eka Kushtha, primarily caused by vitiated Vata and Kapha Doshas. This case study evaluates the efficacy of an Ayurvedic intervention comprising Shila Sindura, Bakuchi Rasayana, and adjunct therapies in the management of Eka Kushtha (psoriasis). Case Presentation: A 20-year-old male presented with an 8-year history of extensive red and white scaly plaques affecting his feet, knees, hands, elbows, and upper back. Symptoms included severe itching, burning sensations, and joint stiffness. Despite prior treatments, recurrence persisted. Clinical assessment using the Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) revealed a baseline score of 26.4. Treatment Protocol: The patient underwent a one-month Ayurvedic regimen consisting of Shila Sindura (250 mg BD), Bakuchi Rasayana (750 mg BD), and Avipattikara Churna (3 g BD). External applications included Gandhaka Malahara and Jatyadi Taila. Dietary modifications and lifestyle adjustments were emphasized to complement treatment. Out Comes: Follow-up assessments demonstrated significant clinical improvement, with the PASI score decreasing from 26.4 to 1.0 after two months. Marked reductions in erythema, scaling, and plaque thickness were observed across all body regions. Hematological and biochemical parameters remained stable, with minor fluctuations in renal and hepatic markers, warranting continued monitoring. Conclusion: This case study highlights the potential of Ayurvedic management for psoriasis, emphasizing systemic detoxification, dosha balancing, and localized care. Future controlled clinical trials are recommended to validate these findings and further explore the mechanisms of action

Exploring the stability of Mahatiktaka Ghrita: A comprehensive study on Microbial Integrity
Background: The market for herbal, herbo-mineral, and traditional medicines has grown significantly in recent decades. However, a major challenge to their broader adoption is the limited information on their stability and shelf life. This study was conducted to assess the stability of Mahatiktaka Ghrita against microbial contamination when prepared and stored under different climatic conditions and temperatures. Aim: To evaluate the stability of Mahatiktaka Ghrita and monitor microbial contamination in the finished product at different time intervals and at different climatic conditions (different temperature and humidity set ups). Materials and Methods: Samples of Mahatiktaka Ghrita were studied to inspect microbial contamination at different climatic conditions. The study was conducted at Microbiology Laboratory, Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (ITRA), Jamnagar, Gujarat, India. Observations & Results: The microbiological study of Mahatiktaka Ghrita was carried out as per the samples utilized in clinical study. Further studies were carried out at regular time intervals up to 494 days. Conclusion: In microbiological study of Mahatiktaka Ghrita, growth of microorganisms either bacterial or fungal was not found till 494 days from the date of preparation, which shows its intact stability and good shelf life
