Development of the Life Emotions Rating Scale for Older Children and its Reliability Tests
Get PDFThe cultivation of the emotion of life is the core of life education, which truly conforms to the logic of life education and truly reflects the value of life education. However, limited to the monistic characteristics of the evaluation of the kindergarten and the abstract characteristics of the emotion of life, the cultivation of the emotion of life of young children in the kindergarten has been neglected, and it is difficult for life education to play the real value. Based on an extensive literature review, we developed the "Kindergarten Children's Life Emotions Assessment Scale," designed to visualize life emotions. This assessment aims a't enhance the feasibility of cultivating these emotions by making them more visible. The development process included conducting initial and formal measurements with 148 questionnaires, performing item analyses, and conducting reliability tests.The results show that the reliability and validity of the Kindergarten Early Childhood Life Emotions Assessment Scale meets the requirements of psychometrics, and that this assessment scale has good statistical significance

Dialogism: An L2 Preschooler’s Otherness, Voices, and Answerability
Get PDFThe purpose of this study is to investigate otherness, voices, and answerability of an L2 preschooler using Bakhtin’s dialogism. This approach allows for a deeper understanding of how young children are becoming the self and authoring voices in relation to others. Despite its significance, insufficient research has been conducted in the field. This case study explored a preschooler’s heteroglossia of voices and varied answerability based on his consciousness and otherness. The analysis focused on language use, including embodied language acts, actions, and emotional-volitional tone and intonation, in “a contact zone” (Bakhtin, 1981, p. 345) where interlocutors create a dialogical conversation. The results highlighted the preschooler’s unique participation in being (Bakhtin, 1993) and “endless becomings” (Morson, 2004, p. 331) by creatively interacting with others in his preschool classroom
Applied Communication in Classrooms: Tips for Teachers to Enhance English Communication among Tribal Learners in India

Teaching English language communication inside the classroom is a difficult task since it is directly linked to the outer world. Teaching Tribal learners how to communicate in English or to make them communicate more effectively is a difficult task. By analyzing tribal learners and the learning facilities that exist in India, this paper discusses some of the effective ways and methods to teach these students to help them communicate and express their views in English, which is an important need. Additionally, the technologically assisted applications which might help teachers in teaching English communication are also discussed. This study promises to provide readers with a thorough understanding of the need of inclusive education and the importance of address the disparity regarding English language learning and communication
The Influence of Advertising Strategies on Purchase Intention of Beauty Products on RED
Get PDFWith the popularity of social media platforms in China, research on social media advertising is increasing. Prior research has shown that the value perception given to consumers by social media advertising affects the purchase intention of consumers. However, its internal logic and behavioral mechanism have not been well investigated. In view of this, this research is designed to examine the direct effects of interactivity and aesthetic appeal of beauty product advertisements on perceived advertising value on RED and to explore the influence of perceived advertising value on consumers’ purchase intentions. Based on questionnaire analysis, bivariate regression analysis, and univariate regression analysis, we found the significant influence of interactivity and aesthetic appeal on advertising value as well as the influence of advertising value on consumers’ purchase intention. The chain behavior generation mechanism of consumers’ purchase decisions was also elaborated. This paper provides enlightenment for theoretical research, especially in enriching the SOR model. Also, the result has practical implications for enterprise practice, pointing out important directions for enterprises to design their advertisements
Non-linear Effects of Trade Openness on Economic Growth
Get PDFThis paper analyzes the effects of trade openness on economic growth in a panel of thirty developed and developing countries. The fixed effects model was estimated using the PSTR technique on data covering the period 1980-2019. The results show that the relationship between trade openness and economic growth is non-linear, and that the effects of external openness on growth depend on the thresholds of national income per capita. Below the estimated national income threshold of 35 118 USD per capita, trade openness has no significant effect on economic growth. Above this threshold, trade openness contributes positively to economic growth. Understanding ESL Preservice Teachers’ Metaphorical Epistemology in the Teaching Practicum Context
Get PDFThis study examined twenty English as Second Language (ESL) preservice teachers’ learning-to-teach experiences amid teaching practicums from the perspectives of social realist theory and practice architectures in the USA. Utilizing iterative discourse analysis and constant-comparative approach, this paper reveals four aspects of the participants’ metaphorical epistemology. First, the participants developed the constructivist metaphorical epistemology on ESL teaching by grappling with emergent properties and practice architectures. Second, the participants’ metaphorical epistemology changed from surface reflection to pedagogical reflection. In addition, the participants modeled the reflective disposition by activating their personal emergent properties and tackling the social-political arrangements. Lastly, the participants’ metaphorical epistemology predominantly focuses on their pedagogical reasoning and negotiation of their multiple professional identities. Implications for facilitating ESL preservice teachers’ metaphorical epistemologies in the teaching practicum context are discussed

US-China Strategic Competition Amidst the Paradox of Decoupling
Get PDFPropelled by its remarkable economic growth, China has emerged as a significant player in the global arena, challenging the traditional dominance of the United States. Leveraging its economic prowess, China has strategically advanced its interests not only in the Indo-Pacific context but also on a global scale. This strategy has prompted the United States, starting with the Trump administration, to transition from engagement to comprehensive containment, aiming to counter China's influence and uphold American leadership. This shift signifies a new era, resembling a modern-day Cold War, distinct from the previous engagement-oriented policies. Intriguingly, amidst the calls within Washington to decouple the US economy from that of China, trade and investment data hint at a nuanced revival of bilateral ties between these global superpowers, prompting a re-evaluation of conventional wisdom. Despite the strong rhetoric advocating decoupling, its tangible implementation remains uncertain. Economic indicators suggest a trend toward recoupling, underscoring the intricate interplay between strategic competition and economic interdependence. This complexity generates a paradoxical situation in the new Cold War era, in which intense strategic rivalry and crucial economic cooperation coexist
The Dynamics and Frontiers of Video Game Social Research in Communication Studies-A Scientometrics Analysis Based on CiteSpace and VOSviewer
Get PDFIn this media-rich era, digital entertainment in the form of video games has a major impact on our social interaction and productivity in a borderless social mode. As a result, in order to comprehend the research progress of video game, CiteSpace and VOSviewer were used for scientometrics and knowledge mapping in this study. It displays the state of development, fundamental structure, and frontier areas of video game social communication. The mapping is based on 448 publications collected through Web of Science core database searches. The findings indicate that (1) video game social research has gained increasing attention over the last 23 years, with a curvilinear growth in annual publications, but a core authorship group has yet to materialize, and the United States institutions dominate the number of publications on this topic. (2) Gaming behaviors, gender studies, media effects, and gaming experiences have emerged as the four main hotspots of research in this field under the keyword co-occurrence and clustering analyses. (3) Research in this area has traditionally concentrated on violent, addictive, and other problematic gaming behaviors. The findings of this study forecast future trends in the study of video game social communication and provide the groundwork for more in-depth research
