Analysis of the Agenda Setting Strategy Applied by Narasi TV’s Creative Team towards the 2024 Presidential and Vice-Presidential Election Issue through Musyawarah Program
Get PDFIndonesia is carrying out the General Election Agenda for the President and Vice President, which is held every five years, and 2024 is an election year in which the Indonesian people will choose their leader. As a result, it is clear that election coverage dominates program content and news from the mass media, particularly television. Narasi TV also reported on these electoral issues by airing the Musyawarah show, a special program about the 2024 presidential election. Based on this, the study’s goals are to evaluate the role of Narasi TV’s creative team in shaping the media agenda for the 2024 presidential election, as well as to determine what Narasi TV and the creative team anticipate from the public through the Musyawarah program. The research method used in this article is a qualitative research method, specifically the descriptive-qualitative method, with a focus on data from literature reviews and various references to analyze how the Narasi TV creative team applies the Agenda Setting theory to the issue of the 2024 presidential election through the Musyawarah program. The results showed that Narasi TV’s media agenda on the issue of the 2024 presidential election is as follows: the existence of a special program on the issue of the 2024 presidential election, namely the Musyawarah program; and the creative team’s media agenda for the Musyawarah program, with an effort to raise issues around the 2024 presidential election that are frequently disregarded or neglected despite being less significant than other mass media
On the Determinants of Loan Default in the Saudi Banking System
Get PDFThe main purpose of this paper is to examine the key determinants influencing the non-performing loans (NPLs) in the Saudi banking system. To do so, we consider a set of macroeconomic, banking, and external factors over the period 2010Q1-2023Q3. The contribution of this work to the literature includes providing fresh evidence following the COVID-19 pandemic, utilizing quarterly observations unlike preceding literature, and adopting time series econometric techniques to identify key elements influencing NPLs. A vector error correction model (VECM) is estimated to capture NPL dynamics over both the long-run and short-run. The empirical evidence reveals that NPLs are determined by a combination of macro, banking, and external factors. Specifically, macroeconomic and external variables appear to have a significant impact on NPLs, and their effects are in parallel with theoretical expectations. Likewise, the impact of return on equity on NPLs is significant as expected by theory; however, the impact of other banking factors is against expectations
Revisiting the Discussion on the Effectiveness of Alternative Portfolio Models: Out-of-sample Analysis of Brazil’s Equity Market, 2015-23
Get PDFAround the world, equity markets draw the attention of investors and financial researchers, who share a common interest in searching for relatively more efficient portfolio strategies. Although numerous new allocation techniques have been proposed, the available literature still give emphasis to more traditional analytical systems. Accordingly, in this research, a large sample, with many stocks and long data series, is applied to the comparative analysis of widely used portfolio models trough results based on out-of-sample data. We also carry out a statistical evaluation of the sample distributions of returns in order to assess if the available data are consistent with the commonly accepted hypothesis that the effects of estimation risk are present in solutions based on the mean-variance model. The results obtained, contrary to many critical evaluations, highlight the superiority of portfolios derived from optimal allocation models over strategies based on market index and equal weights
Students are not Customers of the University – The Analysis of Marketization and the Metaphor of Students in Higher Education
Get PDFIn this article, it discusses the marketization of higher education, during which a metaphor of students appears. When students are viewed as customers of universities, the teaching of teachers will be influenced and students themselves will be deprived opportunities of being critical learners. The marketization in Chinese context is specifically analyzed to further demonstrate it is unnecessary to treat students as university customers. Although it will be hard and impossible for higher education to become complete public goods, there is no need to offer students some identities in advance which may cause the deprivation of students’ own choices and pure learning motivations. This article argues the unnecessity of viewing students as customers of university and urges more research to focus on students’ and teachers’ voices about their identities in higher education
Early Career Teachers’ Motivation, Preparation, and Self-Efficacy
Get PDFDrawing on data from 355 early career teachers in the Teaching and Learning International Survey 2018, linear regression analyses were conducted to examine the relationship between Initial Teacher Preparation (ITP), motivations to become a teacher, and teacher self-efficacy (TSE). Results indicated that ITP and motivations statistically significant predicted overall TSE and each TSE component. The descriptive results showed that the ITP item, “teaching in a multicultural or multilingual setting” was ranked lowest; the means for the social utility value were ranked higher than that of the personal utility value; and multicultural classrooms component was ranked lower than instruction, management, engagement

The study aims to explore the reading culture of adolescents on social media platforms and assess the educational potential that these platforms (Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube) offer for teenage reading and education. As part of an effective study of teenagers' reading habits, the authors surveyed respondents. The survey results revealed the adolescents' perception of literary and educational content online. The study outlines the main trends in the reading culture of teenagers. It defines the preferences of adolescents in the literary aspect and describes the main factors influencing the reading culture. The paper describes the specifics of social media's influence on adolescent reading culture. In particular, it describes the role of book bloggers and book communities in shaping teenagers' tastes in reading. This study aims to investigate the reading culture of teenagers on social media and to assess the educational potential of these media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube) for teenage reading and education. The object of the study is the reading culture of teenagers. The study applied such research methods as description, analysis and synthesis, comparison, generalization, modelling, and content analysis. The article examines the reading culture of adolescents on social networks. The authors describe the place of reading and social networks in teenagers' lives in the information society. The essence of blogging and digitalization in terms of book trends is described. The study of reading habits and perception of literary and educational content online by adolescents is analyzed. In addition, the authors summarize the main results of the study and assess the educational potential of social networks. The main age, gender, and social parameters of the respondents are determined
Concessions and Similar Legal Instruments in Argentina

The present article discusses four cases which are casinos, exploitation mining and hydrocarbon resources, the advertisement in public spaces, and, finally, the exploitation of municipal parking. The selection of cases is not arbitrary as it provides a good panoramic view of the enabling titles as well as the legal regime of these activities. All of them are governed by Public Law and all of them imply the use of administrative prerogatives. In the end, we present our concluding remarks that are related to the weakness in which de private counterpart finds itself
Questionnaire Research on How to Train Innovation Stomatology Undergraduates in China Using Practical Domestic and International Experience
Get PDFThe curriculum of interdisciplinary oral undergraduates can help train stomatologists with better analytical, creative and critical thinking. The curriculum reform of stomatology students is a hot topic in domestic colleges and universities. The aims of this study were to (1) analyze the necessity and feasibility of setting up interdisciplinary courses through advanced cases at home and abroad and to summarize successful experiences; (2) understand the cognition, learning interest and knowledge mastery of interdisciplinary students majoring in stomatology to lay a foundation for the formulation of training programs and development strategies for interdisciplinary innovative talent; and (3) summarize the current situation of undergraduate discipline cross-training and propose improvement measures. This study collected successful curriculum reform data both domestically and internationally and designed a questionnaire on the understanding of undergraduate students majoring in stomatology at Lanzhou University on the basis of their curriculum design. The study revealed that most students recognized the overlap between oral medicine and other fields, viewing interdisciplinary knowledge as valuable for scientific research. However, over half of the students rated their interdisciplinary knowledge as average or below, whereas 95.1% expressed an eagerness to learn more. The findings suggest a need to further enhance curriculum development, establish an interdisciplinary collaboration base, and deepen cooperative models for better outcomes in stomatology education
Integration Challenges of Ukrainian Teenage Refugees in European Classrooms: A Mixed Method Analysis
Get PDFThis study investigates the integration of Ukrainian teenage war refugees into the educational systems of three different host countries (i.e. Austria, Germany and England). Due to rare insights this paper aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the multifaceted challenges faced by adolescent Ukrainian refugees in the aforementioned receiving nations through both qualitative (i.e. interviews) and quantitative (i.e. questionnaires) analysis to ensure variety and transparency of data.By examining the manifestations language proficiency, educational background, academic experience, social background and perceived barriers, this study contributes to a nuanced understanding of the multifaceted challenges faced by Ukrainian teenage war refugees in their educational journeys. The analysis revealed that social factors, including peer relationships, support networks and supportive student-teacher relationships have a huge impact on the overall well-being and integration of Ukrainian teenage war refugees in their host communities, while experienced war-related traumata and language barriers are regarded as a heavy burden. The findings aim to inform educational policies that facilitate a more inclusive and supportive environment for the successful integration of this vulnerable population
Behind the Advanced Placement (AP) Curtain: Disproportionality in Hispanic AP Exam Completion
Get PDFWhile many researchers are well-versed in AP gaps and equity, one area in particular impacts Hispanic students and remains underexplored: the AP completion gap. In this study, AP completion is analyzed by two factors: taking the AP exam and passing the AP with a score of 3 or higher. Through a secondary data analysis of the Civil Rights Data Collection [CRDC] (2017) and College Board (2017) data, this study demonstrated disproportionality in taking the exam between Hispanic students and Asian students in suburban schools. Additionally, there was also a statistically significant difference in Hispanic pass and fail scores by type of exam compared to Asian and White students. These findings reveal the need to evaluate AP exam policy, especially in regard to success completion of AP coursework
