    Analyzing non-performing loan ratio in Egyptian banks: The impact of lending and environmental risks

    The present paper investigates the association between the carbon intensity of loans and non-performing loan ratios (NPLR) in Egypt, tapping into an under-researched but important domain in environmental finance. Using an original survey administered to people working in the sector, this study combines responses that measure perceptions of carbon intensity measures, lending risks, and responses to these challenges in the banking sector. By linking these variables with NPLR, the empirical analysis will allow us to estimate direct and indirect effects of carbon-intensive on loans. Preliminary results show that an increase in carbon intensity increases non-performing loan ratios, suggesting that riskier carbon-intensive loans are associated with a higher likelihood of default. This paper adds to the emerging literature on sustainable banking by estimating the financial impact of environmental risks in loan portfolios and suggests that improving green lending behaviour can decrease the risk of future financial crises triggered by the banking sector. As banks face increasing pressure to innovate and respond swiftly to changing market conditions and regulatory requirements, Agile's flexibility and ITIL's structured approach offer a promising solution. The paper examines how Agile influences ITIL processes, leading to faster service delivery, improved collaboration, and enhanced customer satisfaction. The challenges of cultural resistance and balancing structure with flexibility are also discussed. The implications for ITSM in banking, including the potential for more dynamic and strategic service management, are also considered. The paper concludes with recommendations for future research on the long-term impact and best practices for Agile-ITIL integration in banking IT services.     The concept of big data and predictive analytics in reservoir engineering: The future of dynamic reservoir models

    Reservoir engineering is a critical discipline in the oil and gas industry, aimed at optimizing the extraction and management of subsurface resources. Traditionally, reservoir models have relied on static data and conventional simulation methods, which often fall short in capturing the dynamic complexities of reservoirs. With the advent of big data and predictive analytics, there is a significant opportunity to revolutionize reservoir modeling by integrating real-time data for continuous updates and more accurate predictions. This review introduces a theoretical exploration of how big data and predictive analytics can transform dynamic reservoir models, highlighting their potential to improve reservoir management and hydrocarbon recovery. Big data technologies enable the collection, storage, and processing of vast amounts of structured and unstructured data from multiple sources, including well logs, seismic surveys, drilling operations, and production data. Predictive analytics, through machine learning and statistical techniques, can extract actionable insights from these datasets to predict reservoir behavior, enhance decision-making, and optimize production strategies. This integration facilitates real-time monitoring and adaptive reservoir management, allowing engineers to respond to changing reservoir conditions and uncertainties more effectively. The review further explores the implications of big data-driven predictive models for enhanced hydrocarbon recovery techniques, such as water flooding and gas injection. By automating data processing and integrating real-time field data, predictive analytics can improve the accuracy of reservoir simulations, reduce downtime, and increase operational efficiency. Ultimately, the future of dynamic reservoir modeling lies in the seamless integration of big data and predictive analytics, providing a pathway to smarter, more sustainable resource management and maximized recovery factors in increasingly complex reservoir environments.     EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE HINGED ON INTERNAL CAPABILITY: A PEEP INTO DEPOSIT MONEY BANKS IN ANAMBRA STATE

    This work determined the influence of internal capabilities on employee performance in selected deposit money banks in Anambra state. Specifically, however, the study assessed the effect of employee training on customer satisfaction and identified the nature of the relationship between operational flexibility and customer retention. This study was anchored on the Knowledge Base Theory. A survey research design was deployed for this work with a population of all the staff of 6 selected deposit money banks in Anambra state Nigeria, which was put at 1,110 staff. However, a sampled size of 285 was used, after the application of Krejcie and Morgan's (1970) sample size determination formula. Data for the study was collected using a structured questionnaire, which was subjected to both validity and reliability tests. The data analysis technique for the study was simple regression and hypotheses were tested at a 5% level of significance. The results revealed that employee training has a statistically significant effect on customer satisfaction (r = .970; R-Square = .940, P-value < 0.05) and that there is a statistically significant relationship between operational flexibility and customer retention in DMBs in Anambra state (r = .971; R-Square = .943, P-value < 0.05). The study therefore concluded that internal capabilities have an influence on the performance of employees because training and operational flexibility were seen to be positively related to customer satisfaction and retention respectively. On the strength of this, it was recommended that the management of the banks should continue training and retraining employees especially in the area of customer relations as it has been seen to be responsible for customer satisfaction in DMBs in Anambra state.
