Il contributo della Pedagogia di comunità alla valorizzazione del patrimonio culturale

    Get PDF
EnThe text describes the theoretical results obtained from a systematic series of interventions, in a specific geographical area, for the development of communities in marginal contexts, based on the participatory enhancement of cultural heritage. Mention is made of the ACL (Action Community Learning) model, which promotes community empowerment through the recovery of memory and the activation of economic initiatives. A team of PhD students is conducting field research to validate the model and develop theoretical and practical tools. The disciplinary approach is that of Community Pedagogy and Heritage Pedagogy, which emphasise the educational value of the community and the capacity of close relationships to generate well-being. The participation of communities in decision-making processes is fundamental, and institutions must be educated to promote it. The ultimate goal is to create a replicable model for other marginal areas, promoting social cohesion and sustainable development.

EnThe Serre Salentine constitute a subregion of the Salento Peninsula characterized by a high environmental value. It is in fact a peculiar area Serre, characterized by the presence of hills with altitudes that do not exceed 200 m which give rise to a landscape characterized by often harsh and stony surfaces which have allowed the permanence of important aspects of naturalness, with typical aspects of spontaneous vegetation which are summarily analysed.ItLe Serre Salentine costituiscono una subregione della Penisola Salentina caratterizzata da un elevato valore ambientale. Gender-Based Violence, Migration and (Dis)Empowerment: Women and Transwomen Migrants in the Americas

    Get PDF
Migration can be a result of, exacerbate, produce and in some cases reduce gender-based violence (GBV). GBV is part of a continuum often manifesting from childhood to adulthood and from origin, through transit, and (un)intended destinations. Repeated GBV experiences can lead to complex trauma, impacting survivors' mental and physical well-being, and their decision-making abilities. Nonetheless, GBV survivors may also develop resilience and posttraumatic growth, which can positively influence their agency and foster empowering transformations. This study explores how women and transwomen migrants experience the complex intersections of GBV continuums, survival migration, and (dis)empowering agency transformations in the Americas. The study used participatory arts-based methods within a mixed-methods framework to produce an analysis focused on how GBV is experienced, challenged and transformed by women and transwomen migrants crossing and settling in Mexico. The analysis considers GBV in homelands and in transit-destinations as a continuum that intersects with criminal violence, structural oppression, transmisogynistic and homomisic values. The study further delves into how migrants form solidarity networks challenging oppression and engaging in processes of reflection, re-interpretation, and the enactment of new ways of being and doing. Migrants' narratives and artistic creations reflect not only complex GBV experiences, but also positive psychological changes that shape their agency, often leading to an expanded ability to make strategic life choices - empowerment

Critical Knowledge and the Neoliberal University. Reflections in the Light of the Work of C. W. Mills, Olùfémi O. Tàíwò, Kevin Ochieng Okoth, and the Positional Sociology

This article offers a critical reflection on the role of the social science scholar within the neoliberal university, interrogating the epistemic, institutional, and political constraints currently shaping the production of knowledge. Drawing on C. Wright Mills's The Sociological Imagination, the paper engages with three further key contributions: Olùfémi O. Tàíwò's Elite Capture, Kevin Ochieng Okoth's Red Africa, and the collective volume Sociologia di posizione by de Nardis, Petrillo, and Simone. These works provide a conceptual framework for analysing the processes through which critical knowledge is co-opted, depoliticised, or rendered ineffectual. The article focuses on two prevailing dynamics: the hegemony of managerial rationality, which subordinates research to metrics of productivity and competitiveness; and the proliferation of symbolic forms of critique devoid of substantive political impact. In response, the paper explores the possibility of reclaiming the scholar's role as a situated and responsible actor, capable of reconnecting knowledge production with broader social struggles. The experience of the Italian network Sociologia di posizione is presented as a concrete attempt to collectively organise epistemic and material resistance, and to restore a public, transformative function to the social sciences
