    Get PDF
The research conducted among the private papers of the Piedmontese naturalist and lexicographer Giacinto Carena, preserved at the Academy of Sciences of Turin, made it possible to trace a vast quantity of unpublished materials. The "fund Carena" is mainly composed by the correspondence (with around 200 correspondents), the travel diaries, which show the evolution of his interests in scientific nomenclature, and the preparatory notes for the Prontuario di vocaboli that Carena published in 1846 and 1853 and which was followed by a third posthumous part in 1860. The essay intends to give an account of the material present in the Carena collection, trying to capture the different phases of his lexicological and onomasiological study

The documents held in the Fondo UTET in the Turin Archivio di Stato provide important evidence of the work of the Turin Tommaseo-Bellini editorial team. In fact, the numerous letters and work materials sent by the various compilers, and by Tommaseo himself, to the publisher Pomba and to Pierviviano Zecchini help better understanding the initial stages of the Vocabolario and knowing the names of those who took part in that undertaking, the working method adopted and the rules to be implemented for the compilation

EnThe paper focuses on the so called lex commissoria in purchase and sale agreements, a clause that allowed for a transfer of a good delivered to the creditor by virtue of a non-performance of contractual obligations. Speculating on the discipline according to Roman experience, in particular on the suspensive and termination effect of an obligation, on the impact on social relationships, the author elaborates on the case-law interpretation obtained when searching for practical solutions rather than dogmatically correct ones.
