    Get PDF
The use of computer vision is increasing in agriculture, especially in fruit classification. The different types of fruits make classification difficult. Considering the complex appearance of the images of the fruit, selecting the most suitable data features and tuning hyperparameters is also vital. Hence, image processing is proposed since it offers a fast, efficient, and capable of replacing labor work in the harvesting process. This study was conducted to implement a classification model that uses four types (mature, immature, rejected, and damaged) of nipa fruit using an artificial neural network and to explore the different methods in the classification. There are two methods used in predicting the performance of the model, which are the largest method and the sequential method. These methods were used with four binary neural networks as base learners, which included a three-layer perceptron for each base learner consisting of (Model 1: Mature or Not-Mature, Immature or Not-Immature, Reject or Not-Reject, and Damage or Not-Damage). The largest method accuracy was 78%, the same as for the sequential method (78%). Furthermore, the results show that all the implemented methods outperform the benchmark (Human Classification) by 77%, and experiments also show that other (Multiclass) architectures developed with an accuracy of 86% outperform the remaining classifiers

In addition, participants realized that their lived experiences are more challenging than those of ordinary fathers. The student\u27s parents learned to stand firm, become independent, and realize that every decision has consequences

NoSQL: An Optimization Approach in a Stand-Alone System

    Get PDF
With some limiting factors of SQL databases, the NoSQL has been studied and is now a popular database that is being used by the largest companies in the world like Facebook and Google to work with the unstructured big data that they collect and manage every day. In a stand-alone application like the payroll system, the use of SQL databases also becomes a struggle especially when the collected data are growing rapidly. The normalization or query optimization has a little advantage while NoSQL solved this problem in a much better performance. In the new model, the NoSQL (MongoDB) database was designed to work with the transactional data, specifically during the read phase which must be taken from the transactional table. On the other hand, SQL (MySQL) database still works on the other tables that have stable attributes. The test was performed by using a stand-alone system over the usual application of NoSQL databases like the online distributed systems. The combined SQL and NoSQL databases conveyed significant results than that of the SQL database alone in terms of performance. It is evident that NoSQL works well with SQL. NoSQL would have been one of the best options to optimize the performance of the system. This is not only perfectly working with unstructured data in distributed systems but also bears a big advantage when applied to stand-alone systems especially when it collects and manages large volume of data

    Get PDF
This study aims at providing a Process view model of Peer monitoring for the Self-help groups in India. As a phenomenon Peer Monitoring provides a window of opportunity to leverage Peer mechanism to create information asymmetry and set the trajectory for the sustainable growth of the Self-help group linkage programme.  For the purpose of analysis, the Systematic Literature review approach has been used.  A total of 42 articles have been shortlisted from the pool of 949 articles. The data was collected using organisational evidence, experimental evidence and stakeholder perspective. As per the principle of triangulation data has been selected from the multiple sources. This study provides a summary of literature in domain of peer monitoring and also provides a Process view of evolution in this field. The study concludes that there is a huge gap in the field of Microfinance. Group lending has emerged as a panacea to resolve issues of lack of collateral through Peer Monitoring, which has evolved as a three-step process of peer selection, peer monitoring and peer sanction. The group became more heterogeneous as per the risk propensity.  Due to lack of literature in this domain, the theoretical comparison was not possible. This study is of practical relevance to the Policy makers and bankers to tackle issues in microlending in context of Group lending in rural India and will be the first ever study done to create a process view of Peer Monitoring in context of Self-help groups in India

Today university students are engaging with different activities and they have various behaviors as well. The final result of the student varies based on this highly complicated and competitive environment. Assessing one’s performance, identifying one’s uniqueness and gathering solutions are all challenging problems for university students as well as lecturers. The main focus of the study should be on how student performance changes as a result of their activities. This study compared student academic performance with their hobbies, extracurricular activities, different university activities and behaviors. Data were gathered from graduates of the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka and used as a sample in this study around 200 graduate students’ responses through an online Google form. Descriptive analysis and multiple regression analysis were used to analyze the data. Based on the analysis results, students who regularly do past papers, regularly attend lectures, and make short notes have obtained a higher class. In comparison to the other students, those who followed extra courses before the university entrance or during the university period also had good grades. When looking at the behavior of students in their regular lifestyle, those who use social media often have a middle-level achievement in their degree. Extracurricular activities have not been significantly impacted. The majority of students who has better results collected their additional knowledge through the Internet. Students who have better results at the university entrance exam for general English could obtain a higher class in their degree. Based on the analysis result research identified that student performance can be improved by group discussions, exchanging experiences with others, various academic sessions, and seminars. Providing free Internet facilities and e-library facilities will be more helpful to improve their knowledge and giving feedback for their examinations in the early stages is also identified as an important task
