Meaning Policy Innovation in The Era of Regional Autonomy

    Get PDF
This study aims to highlight the significance of policy innovation in the era of regional autonomy. Utilizing a literature-based approach, the findings underscore several key conclusions. First, innovation in the implementation of regional autonomy, as mandated by the 1945 Constitution, is constitutionally and legally oriented toward accelerating the achievement of community welfare. Innovations in improving public services and empowering community participation can enhance regional competitiveness while upholding the principles of democracy, equity, privilege, uniqueness, and the diversity of regional potentials within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. Second, innovation plays a crucial role in accelerating regional development and fostering local independence, including in newly established autonomous regions. By embracing innovation, local governments can creatively explore and manage regional potentials to maximize their use for both local development and business growth. Third, innovation reduces reliance on central government transfers. Financial transfers from the central government should not serve as the primary source of funding for local governments, as innovation enables regions to become more financially self-reliant

    Get PDF
This study aimed to develop and evaluate sweetened breadfruit (Artocarpus altilis) cookies with malunggay (Moringa oleifera) sprinkles as a nutritious and innovative food product. Breadfruit, a locally available and underutilized crop, was used as the primary ingredient to enhance the value of indigenous resources, while malunggay leaves were incorporated as sprinkles to boost the product’s nutritional profile, particularly its vitamin and mineral content. The research focused on product formulation, sensory evaluation, and acceptability testing in terms of color, aroma, texture, taste, and overall acceptability. A panel of evaluators assessed the finished product using a 9-point hedonic scale. Results revealed that the sweetened breadfruit cookies with malunggay sprinkles were generally acceptable to consumers, with high ratings in taste and texture, and moderate acceptability in color due to the presence of green sprinkles. The study concludes that integrating breadfruit and malunggay into cookies is a viable approach to developing functional and health-oriented snacks. It highlights the potential of maximizing local agricultural resources in creating affordable, nutritious, and innovative food products that promote wellness and sustainability

    Get PDF
Implementing the Bidikmisi program is a government policy to provide access to learning in higher education for underprivileged people with exemplary academic achievements. The Bidikmisi program is carried out according to the 3T principle: on target, on time, and in the right amount. This program is still experiencing various obstacles in its implementation that affect the achievement of program objectives. These obstacles also occur at the University of Jember as one of the tertiary institutions implementing the Bidikmisi program, both in the process of acceptance, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. This study aims to see the effectiveness of implementing the Bidikmisi program at the University of Jember using evaluation research with descriptive percentage analysis. Respondents in this study were Jember University students receiving the 2017 Bidikmisi program and managers of the Bidikmisi program at Jember University. Data collection techniques using interview methods, observation methods, and questionnaire methods. The analysis results show that implementing the Bidikmisi program at the University of Jember has been very effective as measured by four aspects. The aspect targeting accuracy of the Bidikmisi program has been effective because the program\u27s recipients have met the target criteria. Then the aspect of program socialization has also been running effectively in its implementation. Bidikmisi recipients stated that information could be obtained quickly, clearly, and consistently according to policy. Aspects of achieving program goals have also been very effective, where increasing access and learning opportunities have been completed. Increasing learning achievement has also shown effective results, but achieving the goals of ensuring timely studies and producing independent graduates still needs to be improved, including aspects of program monitoring that still find obstacles that need to be evaluated for future improvements

    Get PDF
This study examines the relationships between need-supportive teaching practices, student-perceived need fulfillment, anxiety, educational opportunities, and academic achievement in low socioeconomic status high schools in Indonesia. Data were collected through surveys and interviews from a diverse sample of high school students. Path analysis and mediation analyses were conducted. Results indicate that need-supportive teaching practices positively correlate with student-perceived need fulfillment, which, in turn, positively influences academic achievement. Anxiety and educational opportunities were found to mediate the relationship between need-supportive teaching practices, student-perceived need fulfillment, and academic achievement, underscoring the hindrance of high anxiety levels on academic performance. Furthermore, educational opportunities were identified as a significant mediator, highlighting the importance of equitable access to quality education. These findings contribute to the understanding of the role of need-supportive teaching practices, student needs, anxiety, and educational opportunities in academic achievement. The study suggests the implementation of strategies that promote supportive teaching, address student anxiety, and provide equal educational opportunities to enhance academic success. Limitations include the study\u27s specific context, sample size, and generalizability. Future research should consider diverse contexts, larger samples, longitudinal designs, and objective measures of academic achievement

    Get PDF
    - Voluntary organizations are fueled by their respective purposes or objectives which include augmenting government service delivery to cater to the unmet public needs and enrich local life. PadyaRescue, Inc. (PRI) is a youth-led, voluntary organization that initiates community projects mainly on local disaster risk reduction management and other advocacies based in Bugallon, Pangasinan, Philippines. It critically needs to gain stability and reputation while surviving as a viable system by countering inevitable internal issues. Hence, an assessment of its effective organizational management (OM) is in place. A descriptive survey research methodology to determine the perceived level of importance and the effective practice of PRI of the five pillars of OM along with project management, process management, resource management, knowledge management, and change management was employed. Results revealed that the PRI Officers deemed the five pillars of OM as highly important and that they effectively practice them. Despite a strong correlation between high regard and very effective practices in process management, project management, and knowledge management, there is a weak relationship between change management and moderate resource management. Using an importance-effectiveness matrix suggests fine-tuning of specific aspects particularly implementing change readiness and awareness assessments and intervention strategies towards a culture of change. Furthermore, challenges in the aspect of knowledge management may be addressed through resourcefulness in transforming knowledge into an accessible and comprehensible format, and the integration of knowledge-sharing practices into the organizational culture. It is recognized that key issues in the organizational management of PRI should be determined and addressed to ensure its effective and smooth operations, its optimal growth, and to sustain its societal contribution
