Democratic Deficit in the Governance of the Indonesian Capital City: Defisit Demokrasi dalam Tata Kelola Ibu Kota Nusantara

    No full text
Background: The relocation of Indonesia’s national capital to East Kalimantan has introduced a distinctive governance arrangement for the administration of the Indonesian Capital City. Specific background: This arrangement is implemented through the Indonesian Capital Authority, a ministerial-level institution directly accountable to the President and operating outside the conventional regional government system. Knowledge gap: Limited legal scholarship has examined how this governance model aligns with good governance principles and democratic constitutional norms. Aims: This study analyzes the governance of the Indonesian Capital City by examining the position and authority of the Indonesian Capital Authority within the framework of good governance. Results: The findings show that the concentration of extensive administrative powers in the absence of a local representative body generates accountability gaps, weak public participation, and limited checks and balances. Novelty: This research conceptualizes the democratic deficit in the governance of the Indonesian Capital City through an administrative law and constitutional perspective. Implications: The study highlights the need for regulatory restructuring and oversight mechanisms to ensure transparent, accountable, and democratically grounded governance. Highlights The governance of the Indonesian Capital City is characterized by centralized authority. The absence of local representative institutions reflects a democratic deficit. Good governance principles are not fully reflected in the current governance structure. Metformin Reduces Inflammatory Markers Through AMPK Activation in Type 2 Diabetes Patients

    No full text
General Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus represents a complex metabolic disorder characterized by chronic hyperglycemia and systemic inflammation. Specific Background: Metformin, derived from Galega officinalis, has served as first-line pharmacotherapy for over six decades, demonstrating efficacy in glycemic control through multiple mechanisms including AMPK activation and mitochondrial modulation. Knowledge Gap: Despite extensive clinical application, the precise molecular pathways underlying metformin's anti-inflammatory properties and their relationship to improved metabolic outcomes remain incompletely characterized. Aims: This systematic review examined metformin's effects on inflammatory biomarkers in patients with type 2 diabetes, focusing on molecular mechanisms involving AMPK activation, mitochondrial function, and oxidative stress reduction. Results: Analysis of multiple studies revealed significant reductions in C-reactive protein, high-sensitivity CRP, TNF-α, and IL-6 levels, alongside decreased leukocyte-endothelial interactions through diminished expression of ICAM-1 and E-selectin adhesion molecules. Novelty: This review synthesizes emerging evidence on brain-dependent pathways involving Rap1 protein modulation and identifies metformin's dual role in glycemic control and inflammation suppression. Implications: These findings support metformin's multifunctional therapeutic potential beyond diabetes management, with applications in cardiovascular protection, cancer prevention, and inflammatory disease modification.HIghlight : Metformin reduces blood glucose and inflammatory markers (CRP, HSCRP) in type 2 diabetes patients through AMPK activation. The drug works via mitochondrial Complex I inhibition, mTORC1 suppression, and CARM1 enzyme modulation. Pharmacogenetic testing for CYP450 enzymes predicts individual drug responses and adverse effects for personalized treatment. Geochemical Signatures of Major Elements in Shintaku Granitic Rocks

    No full text
General Background This study examines the geochemical behavior of granitic rocks in the Shintaku area, a region within the Nigerian Basement Complex where magmatic evolution remains debated due to limited integrated structural–geochemical data. Specific Background Earlier works suggest that Pan-African tectonism produced heterogeneous magmas in southwest Lokoja, yet the mechanisms generating the acidic and intermediate intrusive rocks in this locality are still insufficiently constrained. Knowledge Gap Despite numerous metamorphic studies, the petrogenesis and geochemical pathways of the granitic bodies in southeastern Lokoja have not been comprehensively analyzed using modern analytical techniques. Aims This research investigates magma sources, fractionation trends, and alumina saturation indices to reconstruct the magmatic evolution of the Shintaku granites. Results Major element compositions show enrichment in SiO2, Al2O3, and alkalis, with smooth Harker trends implying fractional crystallization, while rough trends indicate partial melting and magma mixing. The coexistence of metaluminous and peraluminous signatures, along with subalkaline affinities, supports heterogeneous mantle–crust melt interaction. Novelty This study provides the first integrated petrographic and geochemical characterization of the Shintaku granites using XRF, SEM, and LA-ICP-MS datasets. Implications Findings refine the petrogenetic model of southeastern Lokoja and offer a stronger basis for assessing mineralization potential and regional tectonomagmatic evolution.Highlight : Highlights major compositional variations that reflect the influence of magma fractionation. Emphasizes evidence of partial melting and magma mixing as drivers of magma heterogeneity. Confirms the S-type granitoid character linked to peraluminous supracrustal sources. Keywords : Granitic Rocks, Magmatic Fractionation, Fractional Crystallization, Partial Melting, Magma Mixin

General Background: Hydrocarbon reservoir characterization remains challenging due to subsurface complexity and fragmented data sources. Specific Background: Conventional seismic-based interpretation often fails to capture fine-scale heterogeneity and uncertainty. Knowledge Gap: Limited studies integrate seismic, well-log, and satellite data within a unified AI-driven 3D framework. Aims: This study develops an AI-based 3D modeling system for accurate reservoir prediction using multimodal data fusion. Results: The proposed framework achieves high predictive accuracy, with LightGBM yielding R² values above 0.85 for porosity and 3D U-Net attaining IoU values exceeding 0.75 for structural segmentation. Novelty: The integration of transformer-based fusion and probabilistic uncertainty quantification distinguishes this approach from existing methods. Implications: The system enhances reservoir delineation, reduces exploration risk, and supports data-driven decision-making in hydrocarbon field development. Highlights:• Multimodal fusion improves reservoir prediction accuracy• AI-driven 3D modeling enhances fault and channel detection• Uncertainty quantification supports risk-aware decisions Keywords: Artificial Intelligence, 3D Reservoir Modeling, Seismic Data, Multimodal Fusion, Hydrocarbon Exploratio

    No full text
General Background school well-being is crucial for fostering a positive educational environment and promoting student discipline. Specific Background this study investigates the relationship between school well-being and student discipline behavior at a high school. Knowledge Gap while existing research highlights the importance of both constructs, there is limited empirical evidence examining their correlation, particularly in the context of high school students. Aims the research aims to determine whether a significant relationship exists between school well-being and student discipline behavior among students at SMA Avisena. Results analysis revealed a correlation coefficient (rᵪᵧ) of 0.025 with a significance value of 0.747, indicating no significant relationship between the two variables. Despite the absence of a clear correlation, there appears to be a tendency for a connection. Novelty this study contributes to the literature by exploring the dynamics of school well-being and discipline in a high school setting, providing insights into the complexities of student behavior. Implications the findings suggest that while school well-being may not directly influence student discipline behavior, understanding the nuances of their relationship can inform strategies to improve both constructs within educational institutions. Further research is recommended to explore other factors that may mediate or moderate this relationship. Highlights:    No significant relationship found between school well-being and student discipline. The study highlights a tendency for a connection despite statistical insignificance. Insights can inform strategies for improving student behavior and well-being. Keywords: School Well-Being, Student Discipline, Correlation, High School, Education &nbsp
