Screening For Multidrug-Resistant Staphylococcus Spp. Bacteria Causing Bacterial Vaginosis in Women: Penyaringan Bakteri Staphylococcus spp. yang Resisten terhadap Banyak Obat yang Menyebabkan Vaginosis Bakteri pada Wanita
Background: Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is a common vaginal condition characterized by a shift from lactobacilli dominance to opportunistic bacteria. Specific Background: Recent observations indicate the increasing role of Staphylococcus spp., particularly multidrug-resistant strains, in persistent or recurrent BV. Knowledge Gap: Limited evidence exists regarding species-level identification and resistance profiles of Staphylococcus spp. in BV cases in Iraq. Aim: This study aimed to identify the bacterial species associated with BV and determine the antimicrobial susceptibility of the most resistant isolates. Results: Among 50 clinical samples, 20 yielded bacterial growth, dominated by Gram-positive isolates (65%), especially Staphylococcus haemolyticus (40%), S. aureus (15%), and S. epidermidis (10%). Gram-negative isolates included E. coli (20%) and Klebsiella pneumoniae (10%). Gardnerella vaginalis was detected in 5%. Antibiotic testing of 16 isolates showed high multidrug resistance, with S. haemolyticus exhibiting resistance to OFX, CRO, AMC, CTX, EM, CFM, and NA. Novelty: This study provides the first localized profiling of MDR Staphylococcus spp. in BV using VITEK-2 confirmation. Implications: Findings highlight the need for routine species identification, antimicrobial stewardship, and region-specific treatment guidelines to prevent rising resistance and recurrence.

Structural and Optical Properties of Fe₂O₃ Nanoparticles for Biosensing Applications
General Background: Nanostructured metal oxides are widely explored for sensing technologies due to their tunable structural and optical behavior. Specific Background: Iron oxide (Fe₂O₃), particularly hematite, offers stability, biocompatibility, and catalytic activity suitable for biosensing applications. Knowledge Gap: However, the combined structural–optical characterization of Fe₂O₃ synthesized via a simple sol–gel route and its integrated performance within a glucose biosensor remains insufficiently examined. Aims: This study investigates the structural, morphological, and optical properties of Fe₂O₃ nanoparticles and evaluates their functionality as an active layer in a glucose oxidase (GOx) sol–gel biosensor. Results: XRD confirmed hematite with sharp peaks at ~33.2° and ~35.7°, indicating high crystallinity; UV–Vis/Tauc analysis yielded a direct band gap of 2.1–2.2 eV; SEM/EDS revealed quasi-spherical aggregates composed predominantly of Fe and O. The biosensor exhibited first-order amperometric responses with T90 values of ~26 s (2 mM) and ~34 s (5 mM) and rapid T10 recovery (~2 s). Novelty: The combination of sol–gel immobilization and Fe₂O₃’s intrinsic catalytic behavior produced fast, stable, and reversible glucose sensing. Implications: These findings support Fe₂O₃–sol–gel platforms as promising candidates for next-generation enzymatic biosensors.

Purse Seine Fleet Optimization with E-Logbook Data in GoronPost-Election Communication Drives Reconciliation in Tallung Ura Villagetalo Fisheries: Komunikasi Pasca Pilkada Mendorong Rekonsiliasi di Desa Tallung Ura
General Background: Local elections in Indonesia frequently trigger polarization, damaged social relations, and prolonged distrust within communities. Specific Background: In Tallung Ura Village, Enrekang Regency, the 2024 election created social fragmentation, emotional tension, and disrupted daily interactions among residents. Knowledge Gap: Limited research addresses reconciliation models that apply communication strategies integrating religious values and local cultural wisdom in rural settings. Aims: This study analyzes the roles of communicators, communication mechanisms, and strategies that support post-election reconciliation. Using a qualitative case study, data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation with religious leaders, village authorities, and community actors. Results: Reveal that local communicators acted as mediators delivering persuasive, empathetic messages; open dialogue and personal mediation reduced tensions; and strategies grounded in Islamic teachings and cultural values such as sipakatau, sipakalebbi, and sipakainge rebuilt trust and social cohesion. Novelty: Lies in presenting a reconciliatory communication model based on spiritual guidance, cultural identity, and participatory mechanisms unique to Tallung Ura and rarely examined in political reconciliation literature. Implications: Indicate that strengthening mediator capacity and establishing communication forums may provide a transferable framework for restoring grassroots harmony and preventing recurring conflict in similar post-election contexts.

Biochemical Markers, Trace Elements, and Vitamins in Cutaneous Leishmaniasis
General Background: Cutaneous leishmaniasis is a prevalent parasitic disease in endemic regions and is increasingly recognized as a systemic condition associated with metabolic and nutritional disturbances beyond skin manifestations. Specific Background: Alterations in liver function, lipid metabolism, trace elements, and vitamin status have been reported in parasitic infections; however, integrated biochemical and molecular evidence in cutaneous leishmaniasis remains limited. Knowledge Gap: There is insufficient empirical data linking molecular identification of Leishmania species with comprehensive biochemical, trace element, and vitamin profiles in affected patients. Aims: This study aimed to evaluate biochemical markers, trace elements, and vitamins in patients with cutaneous leishmaniasis and to confirm Leishmania species using PCR. Results: Compared with controls, patients showed significantly elevated liver enzymes (AST, ALT, ALP) and lipid parameters, reduced iron and zinc levels, increased copper levels, and significantly lower vitamin D3 and B12 concentrations. Nested PCR identified Leishmania tropica as the predominant species, followed by L. major. Novelty: The study integrates serological, nutritional, and molecular data, providing a holistic profile of systemic alterations associated with cutaneous leishmaniasis. Implications: These findings underscore the importance of biochemical and nutritional monitoring alongside molecular diagnosis to improve clinical management and therapeutic strategies for cutaneous leishmaniasis.Highlight :

The Role of Financial Analysis in Improving Project Evaluation Decisions:A Case Study in the Iraqi Oil Sector
General Background: Investment decisions in the oil sector require rigorous financial evaluation due to high capital intensity, long project life cycles, and exposure to price volatility. Specific Background: In the Iraqi oil sector, project appraisal practices often rely on limited or uneven application of modern financial analysis tools, despite their relevance for large-scale field development. Knowledge Gap: Empirical evidence remains insufficient regarding how integrated financial indicators systematically inform project evaluation and decision-making under Iraq’s specific operational and institutional conditions. Aims: This study examines the role of financial analysis in improving project evaluation decisions through an applied case study of the Majnoon Oil Field, focusing on Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Payback Period. Results: The findings indicate a positive NPV exceeding USD 1.8 billion, an IRR of approximately 17% above the assumed discount rate, and an acceptable payback period, confirming the project’s economic feasibility despite cost and price uncertainties. Novelty: The study integrates theoretical financial analysis with a context-specific applied model tailored to the Iraqi oil environment, linking quantitative indicators directly to development and investment decisions. Implications: Strengthening financial analysis frameworks and integrating them with technical data can enhance evaluation accuracy, improve resource allocation efficiency, and support more reliable investment decisions within national oil companies.Highlight :

Technology-Based Methods and Resources in Contemporary Language Learning
General Background: The integration of technology has fundamentally transformed language learning paradigms, particularly within ESL, ESP, and L2 contexts. Specific Background: Since the emergence of PLATO systems in the 1960s, technological evolution has progressively incorporated hardware, software, and internet-based solutions into language pedagogy. Knowledge Gap: Despite substantial technological advancement, critical issues persist regarding pedagogically appropriate application, adequate teacher preparation, and strategic tool selection aligned with specific linguistic competencies and learning objectives. Aims: This study examines the historical trajectory of technology in language learning, categorizes technological tools, and evaluates their pedagogical effectiveness across different language skills. Results: Findings reveal that hardware components (auditory and visual tools) and software categories (CAI, CALL, ICALL, WBLL, MALL) demonstrate distinct contributions to listening, speaking, reading, and vocabulary acquisition, with applications such as Duolingo, Babbel, and Rosetta Stone showing progressive development. Novelty: This research synthesizes historical, theoretical, and practical dimensions to analyze the interaction between technological innovation, linguistic theories, teaching standards, and emerging digital learning ecosystems. Digital Payment, Support, and Ethics Drive Micro and Small Business Income
General Background: The rapid evolution of financial technology has introduced digital payment systems as vital tools for business growth. Specific Background: Within the context of Indonesian micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), especially in Medan City, these advancements intersect with government policy and religious ethics. Knowledge Gap: However, limited empirical evidence exists on how digital payments, Islamic business principles, and state subsidies collectively influence MSME income. Aims: This study aims to quantitatively examine the effect of digital payment technologies, Islamic business practices, and government subsidies on MSME revenue in Medan. Results: Using a correlational approach and Slovin-based purposive sampling of 100 MSME owners from a population of 70,843, multiple linear regression analysis reveals that all three independent variables significantly and positively affect MSME income. Novelty: The study integrates faith-based economic principles with technological and policy variables, providing a unique multidimensional perspective on MSME growth. Implications: The findings suggest that synergistic support—combining ethical entrepreneurship, digital finance, and government intervention—can enhance income generation for MSMEs, thereby offering valuable policy insights for sustainable economic development.

Building Entrepreneurial Interest of Scout Members Through Business Model Canvas Design Training: Membangun Minat Wirausaha Anggota Pramuka Melalui Pelatihan Desain Business Model Canvas
General Background: Youth entrepreneurship is a critical strategy for fostering economic self-reliance and innovation. Specific Background: In Indonesia, the Scout Movement has increasingly integrated character and skill-building programs, offering an opportunity to embed entrepreneurial education. Knowledge Gap: Despite awareness of entrepreneurship, practical understanding and application among adolescents—especially using tools like the Business Model Canvas (BMC)—remain limited. Aims: This study aims to enhance entrepreneurial interest and competency among 17-year-old Scout members through BMC design training. Results: Conducted as a participatory workshop, the training included lectures, business site visits, group simulations, and peer assessments. The findings showed that 66.7% of participants were unfamiliar with BMC prior to the workshop, but post-training evaluations revealed improved comprehension, with peer assessment scores averaging 3.08–4.00 (out of 5), and self-ratings predominantly between 7 and 9 (out of 10). Novelty: This study contributes novel insights into the integration of entrepreneurship education within a non-formal setting, specifically through experiential and peer-based learning methods tailored for Scout members. Implications: The findings suggest that structured, interactive training using BMC can effectively cultivate entrepreneurial mindset and skills in youth, and support the strategic inclusion of business education in character-based programs like Scouting.Highlight :

Inclusive Education Model in Special Needs Friendly Secondary Schools: Model Pendidikan Inklusif di Sekolah Menengah Ramah Siswa Berkebutuhan Khusus
AbstractInclusive education aims to create equitable and supportive learning environments for all students, including those with special needs (SEN). At the secondary school level, the implementation of inclusive practices presents more complex challenges compared to primary education, such as diverse learning needs and the risk of discrimination or bullying. Previous studies have primarily focused on primary education or curricular aspects, with limited attention to adaptive and contextual service models suitable for secondary schools. This article seeks to explore and describe a student-friendly inclusive education model through the integration of cluster and pull-out approaches, combined with community-based anti-bullying strategies. The findings indicate that combining cluster and pull-out models provides flexible and adaptive learning spaces while maintaining opportunities for SEN students to engage in social interactions within regular classrooms. This strategy is further strengthened by the use of Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and alignment with the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework. The study proposes a conceptual model that integrates service approaches, adaptive curricula, and social strategies to support the learning success of SEN students in secondary schools. These findings offer practical guidance for schools and policymakers in promoting fair, inclusive, and stigma-free secondary education.Highlight :

Evaluation Study of the Active Compounds and Antioxidant Activity of Lavender Extract
General background: Medicinal plants have long been recognized for their therapeutic properties due to their bioactive compounds. Specific background: Lavender (Lavandula spp.) is widely used for its aromatic, medicinal, and preservative properties, but comprehensive analyses of its leaf extract's phytochemical profile and antioxidant potential remain limited. Knowledge gap: While numerous studies have explored lavender essential oils, fewer have examined the secondary metabolites and antioxidant capacity specifically from leaf-based alcoholic extracts. Aims: This study aimed to evaluate the active compounds and antioxidant activity of the alcoholic extract of lavender leaves by identifying its chemical composition and quantifying key bioactive metabolites. Results: Phytochemical screening revealed the presence of phenolic compounds, flavonoids, tannins, glycosides, alkaloids, terpenes, and sterols. The extract showed the highest concentration of total phenolics (25.32 mg/100 g) and the lowest of glycosides (0.076 mg/100 g). Antioxidant assays confirmed its capacity to scavenge free radicals effectively. Novelty: This study provides detailed evidence of the potent antioxidant activity of lavender leaf extracts, contributing new insights distinct from flower-based evaluations. Implications: These findings support the potential development of lavender leaf-based natural antioxidants for pharmaceutical and nutraceutical applications.
