    Background (General): In the 21st century, Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) are crucial for fostering critical, creative, innovative, and independent learners, aligning with the Merdeka Curriculum’s vision. Background (Specific): Environmental change and conservation topics are particularly suited to HOTS development, especially when contextualized through local wisdom, yet such integration remains underexplored in Indonesian Madrasah Aliyah contexts. Knowledge Gap: Despite evidence supporting Discovery Learning and local wisdom separately, limited studies investigate their combined impact on HOTS in secondary education biology, particularly in schools rich in cultural-environmental practices. Aim: This study examines the effect of a local wisdom-based Discovery Learning model on Grade X students’ HOTS in environmental change and conservation at MAN 2 Model Medan. Results: Using a quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control group design, findings show a significant improvement in the experimental group’s HOTS (mean posttest = 87.7) compared to the control (67.3), with statistical tests confirming normality, homogeneity, and a significant effect (p < 0.001). Novelty: The study integrates culturally relevant local practices into a constructivist Discovery Learning framework to enhance HOTS in environmental education. Implications: These results suggest that embedding local wisdom within inquiry-based models can meaningfully boost analytical, evaluative, and creative thinking skills, offering a replicable strategy for culturally responsive science education.Highlight : Discovery Learning based on local wisdom effectively improves students' HOTS. The research data is normally distributed and homogeneous according to statistical tests. The average posttest score of the experimental class is higher than that of the control class.     General Background: Industrial clustering has emerged globally as a strategic approach to enhancing cost efficiency and competitiveness. Specific Background: In Uzbekistan, the construction materials sector is vital to national infrastructure development but remains fragmented, inefficient, and cost-burdened. Knowledge Gap: Despite international successes, limited empirical research exists on the quantifiable benefits of cluster systems within Uzbekistan's construction industry. Aims: This study investigates the potential of clustering to reduce production and logistics costs, enhance technological integration, and improve overall industrial performance. Results: Empirical analysis reveals that cluster-based enterprises achieve a 15% reduction in production costs, 8% lower logistics and energy expenses, and a 50% decrease in waste levels. Labor productivity improves by 22%, technological stoppages are minimized, and export potential doubles. Novelty: Unlike prior studies, this research provides a localized, data-driven assessment linking cluster implementation with measurable efficiency gains, labor inclusion, and innovation adoption. Implications: The findings underscore clustering as a transformative model for Uzbekistan’s industrial policy, supporting sustainable development, small business integration, and regional economic resilience.     Sentence Writing Skills Through Picture and Picture Learning Model: Keterampilan Menulis Kalimat Melalui Model Pembelajaran Gambar dan Gambar

    General Background: Writing is a fundamental language skill that plays a crucial role in developing students’ critical and logical thinking. Specific Background: However, elementary school students often struggle with constructing coherent sentences due to limited vocabulary, lack of structural understanding, and low motivation in writing activities. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies on the Picture and Picture model mainly focused on reading comprehension, with limited exploration of its application in sentence writing, especially within the context of the Kurikulum Merdeka. Aims: This study aims to improve fourth-grade students’ sentence writing skills through the systematic application of the Picture and Picture learning model. Results: Conducted as a classroom action research in two cycles with 25 participants, the findings revealed significant improvements: teacher performance increased from 76.19% to 90.48%, student active participation rose from 24% to 44%, and sentence writing mastery improved from 68% to 84%. Novelty: The novelty lies in integrating the Picture and Picture model with the Kurikulum Merdeka, focusing on visual-based sentence construction in Bahasa Indonesia learning. Implications: These results suggest that Picture and Picture can serve as an effective pedagogical strategy to foster creativity, independence, and linguistic competence in primary education.Highlight : The Picture and Picture model improves sentence writing skills. Students become more active and participative. Learning outcomes increase from Cycle I to Cycle II.     General Background: Science learning in Indonesian elementary schools often faces challenges related to low student engagement and achievement, as reflected in declining PISA scores. Specific Background: At SDN 064/II Perumnas I, fourth-grade students demonstrated limited participation and low mastery of science (IPAS), with only 30.77% achieving the school’s minimum competency standard. Knowledge Gap: Traditional lecture-based teaching remains dominant, providing little room for active, collaborative, and meaningful learning, and few studies have explored combining cooperative learning with audiovisual media in IPAS at the primary level. Aims: This study aimed to improve student learning outcomes and engagement in science through the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) cooperative model supported by audiovisual media. Results: Conducted as Classroom Action Research with 13 students over two cycles, the study showed an increase in mastery from 76.92% in Cycle I to 100% in Cycle II, accompanied by improved teacher performance and higher student participation in group discussions. Novelty: The integration of NHT with audiovisual media presents an innovative approach that optimally addresses the cognitive and social learning needs of elementary students. Implications: The findings suggest that this combined strategy is effective for fostering active participation, critical thinking, and improved academic achievement in science, and it can be recommended for broader application in primary education.Highlight : Student engagement and participation in science learning increased.     General Background: Lembaga Keuangan Mikro Syariah (LKMS) plays a crucial role in promoting inclusive finance and supporting small-scale economic empowerment within Islamic economic systems. Specific Background: Despite the growth of more than 500 LKMS in Indonesia, challenges remain regarding competition with conventional institutions, limited capital, regulatory gaps, low financial literacy, and adaptation to digitalization. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies have examined governance, literacy, and digitalization issues in LKMS, but limited research has integrated theoretical insights with practical challenges through the perspective of Prof. Dian Masyita, a leading scholar in Islamic microfinance. Aims: This study analyzes the development strategies of LKMS based on Prof. Dian Masyita’s thought, focusing on sustainability, inclusivity, and innovation. Results: Findings highlight four pillars for strengthening LKMS: community-based approaches, reinforcement of Sharia-compliant business models, product diversification, and technological utilization. LKMS is not only a financial institution but also a social agent fostering justice, transparency, and local empowerment. Novelty: The research identifies unique strategic patterns by linking theory with field realities, extending beyond prior literature.     General Background: The Qur’an serves as the primary guide for Muslims, requiring proper recitation in accordance with tajweed rules to preserve accuracy and meaning. Specific Background: In many non-formal Islamic education settings, such as taklim councils, mothers often possess basic Qur’anic literacy but lack proficiency in tajweed, with some remaining hijaiyah illiterate. Knowledge Gap: Limited research examines structured tahsin learning practices for adult women in rural Indonesian communities, particularly in non-formal institutions. Aims: This study investigates the implementation, methods, facilities, and challenges of tahsin Al-Qur’an learning at the Al-Hidayah Taklim Council, Punggulan Village. Results: Using qualitative descriptive methods with interviews, observations, and documentation, findings reveal that tahsin classes—held twice weekly—significantly improve participants’ reading fluency, letter recognition, and tajweed application through tailored methods (Iqra’ for beginners, Qiroati for advanced learners). Novelty: The research highlights adaptive instructional strategies in a non-formal, community-based female learning group, integrating individualized approaches within a collective setting to address diverse abilities and age-related challenges. Implications: The findings emphasize the potential of localized tahsin programs to strengthen Qur’anic literacy among women, thereby enhancing religious practice and intergenerational transmission of correct recitation skills.     Contextualization of Ta'zir and Amar Ma'ruf Nahi Munkar to Address Illegal Online Loans

    General background: Financial technology (fintech) has transformed the financial services industry, offering convenience and broader access. Specific background: However, the rapid growth of online loans has also given rise to illegal lending practices, marked by exorbitant interest rates, privacy violations, and exploitative collection methods, causing serious economic and psychological harm. Knowledge gap: Previous studies have examined illegal loans from legal, economic, and social perspectives, yet few have analyzed solutions through the framework of industrial fiqh. Aims: This study seeks to contextualize the concepts of amar ma’ruf nahi munkar (enjoining good and forbidding wrong) and ta’zir (discretionary punishment) as frameworks to address the proliferation of illegal online loans. Results: Findings show that economic pressures, consumptive lifestyles, and low financial literacy are primary factors driving communities into debt traps. Illegal loans are deemed unlawful in Sharia due to elements of riba, gharar, and zulm. Novelty: By applying classical fiqh principles within the theory of industrial fiqh, this study introduces practical programs: financial literacy campaigns as amar ma’ruf and strengthened regulation and law enforcement as ta’zir. Implications: These approaches highlight the relevance of fiqh in modern socio-economic challenges, offering a Sharia-based, preventive, and corrective framework to protect society from exploitative financial practices.     Wall Passing as a Training Method for Basic Sepak Takraw Skills: Passing Dengan Tembok Sebagai Metode Latihan Sepak Takraw Dasar

    General Background: Sepak takraw requires strong fundamental skills, particularly sepak sila passing, to ensure effective gameplay. Specific Background: However, the mastery of passing techniques among PSTI Merangin athletes remains low due to monotonous and traditional training methods. Knowledge Gap: There has been no scientific evidence examining the effectiveness of wall passing drills in developing sepak sila passing skills. Aims: This study aimed to evaluate the application of wall passing training on the sepak sila passing ability of PSTI Merangin athletes. Results: An experimental design with one group pretest-posttest was conducted on 15 athletes, showing an average score improvement from 6.00 to 7.40. A paired t-test yielded a value of 6.548 with a significance of 0.000 (p<0.05), indicating a significant increase in passing skills. Novelty: Wall-based training proved to be a simple yet effective self-training method for building muscle memory, accuracy, and movement consistency in sepak takraw passing. Implications: These findings provide practical contributions for coaches and physical education teachers as an affordable, independent, and applicable training alternative in sepak takraw development. Highlight: Wall passing training improves accuracy and control in sepak sila passing. A simple method suitable for regional-level athletes.     General background: Tourism plays a significant role in Indonesia’s economic growth, particularly through village-based tourism that integrates cultural sustainability and community welfare. Specific background: Tampaksiring Village, designated as a tourism village under Bali Governor Regulation No. 52 of 2021 and Regent Decree No. 762/E-02/HK/2020, possesses rich natural, cultural, and historical assets. However, its development remains suboptimal, revealing a gap between regulatory mandates and actual implementation. Knowledge gap: Existing studies have rarely examined the legal authority and governance challenges of village administrations in optimizing tourism potential within a sustainable development framework. Aims: This study investigates Tampaksiring Village’s authority in managing local tourism and identifies strategies to enhance its tourism potential. Results: Findings show that the village government exercises attribution and delegation authority but struggles to implement integrative and strategic programs. The study highlights five development efforts: branding a unique tourism identity, expanding partnerships, utilizing social media, empowering community participation, and ensuring cultural-environmental sustainability. Novelty: Unlike prior research focusing mainly on promotion, this study underscores the interplay between legal authority, governance, and community-based management as key drivers of sustainable tourism branding.     Outdoor Study Approach in Strengthening Science Learning Among Elementary Students: Pendekatan Outdoor Study dalam Penguatan Pembelajaran Sains pada Siswa Sekolah Dasar

    General Background: Science and Social Science (IPAS) learning in elementary schools often shows low engagement and achievement due to monotonous classroom-centered approaches. Specific Background: At SD Negeri 071/II Sungai Gambir, many students relied passively on teacher explanations and demonstrated limited participation. Knowledge Gap: Conventional methods were unable to foster active involvement and meaningful understanding of scientific concepts. Aim: This study explored the use of the outdoor study approach to strengthen the science learning process and outcomes of fourth-grade students. Results: Conducted as classroom action research in two cycles with 17 students, findings indicated consistent improvement. Teacher performance rose from 72.22% to 88.88%, student activity increased from 70.58% to 88.23%, and cognitive achievement improved from 52.94% to 88.23%. Novelty: Unlike prior works, this study integrated outdoor study with structured peer tutoring and visual media to optimize learning within limited timeframes. Implications: The results demonstrate that outdoor study can cultivate active participation, deeper conceptual understanding, and higher achievement in science learning at the elementary level. Highlights: Outdoor study increased teacher performance, student activity, and learning outcomes. Visual media and peer tutoring enhanced learning during outdoor sessions.
