Hematological Changes and Anemia Patterns Among Pregnant Women in Iraq: Perubahan Hematologi dan Pola Anemia pada Ibu Hamil di Irak

    No full text
Background: Anemia remains a critical global public health issue, significantly contributing to maternal morbidity and mortality, particularly in low-resource settings. Specific Background: In Iraq, the burden of anemia among pregnant women remains underexplored, with limited data on hematological profiles across trimesters. Knowledge Gap: Despite existing literature on anemia in pregnancy, there is a paucity of localized studies assessing its prevalence, severity, and potential causes beyond iron deficiency. Aim: This study aimed to determine the prevalence and severity of anemia among pregnant women attending Al-Alawiya Maternity Hospital in Baghdad, Iraq, and to evaluate associated hematological parameters. Results: A cross-sectional analysis of 110 pregnant and 50 non-pregnant women revealed a statistically significant decrease in hemoglobin and packed cell volume (PCV) among pregnant participants, particularly during the second and third trimesters and within the 26–40-year age group. Ferritin levels remained within normal limits across all groups. Novelty: The study highlights a modest prevalence of anemia not directly linked to iron deficiency, suggesting alternative etiologies such as micronutrient deficiencies or physiological changes during pregnancy. Implications: Routine monitoring of hematological parameters is essential, and further investigation is needed to identify non-iron-related causes of anemia in pregnancy to guide more effective interventions. Highlights: Hemoglobin drops in 2nd and 3rd pregnancy trimesters. Anemia most common in women aged 26–40. Ferritin normal—non-iron deficiency anemia suspected.   Keywords: Anemia, Pregnancy, Hemoglobin, Ferritin, Ira

    No full text
General Background: Environmental sustainability has become an essential aspect of business operations, especially for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the food processing sector. Specific Background: The opak factory in Sidodadi Village, Indonesia, produces organic and inorganic waste, necessitating strategic environmental management. Knowledge Gap: While studies have shown benefits of green accounting, limited research explores its application and link to business sustainability within rural SMEs. Aims: This study aims to assess the implementation of green accounting and environmental performance in supporting business sustainability at the opak factory. Results: Using qualitative methods including interviews and field observations, findings reveal suboptimal integration of environmental costs into financial records and inadequate documentation of environmental initiatives. Although the factory engages in solid and liquid waste management—such as reusing cassava pulp as animal feed and building liquid waste tanks—these efforts are not systematically reported under green accounting frameworks. Novelty: The study offers empirical insight into green accounting within a rural food SME, highlighting distinct challenges and context-specific practices. Implications: Without structured financial tracking and better stakeholder awareness, potential long-term benefits such as increased competitiveness, regulatory compliance, and market access remain underutilized. Strengthening institutional understanding and environmental cost reporting is crucial for advancing sustainable business practices. Highlights: Environmental costs are not systematically recorded in financial reports. Waste management practices exist but lack integration into sustainability reporting. Green accounting remains underutilized due to limited awareness and resources. Keywords: green accounting, environmental performance, business sustainability, SMEs, waste managemen

The Relationship Between Job Demands and Self-Efficacy on Academic Stress Levels in Working Students in Sidoarjo City : Hubungan antara Tuntutan Pekerjaan dan Efikasi Diri terhadap Tingkat Stres Akademik pada Mahasiswa yang Bekerja di Kota Sidoarjo

    No full text
This study aims to examine the relationship between job demands and self-efficacy with academic stress among working university students in Sidoarjo. A quantitative approach was employed, involving 204 respondents who were either full-time or part-time working students. The sample was selected using a convenience sampling technique. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire covering three main aspects: academic stress, job demands, and self-efficacy. All instruments had undergone validity and reliability testing. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS version 25.0. The results showed that both job demands and self-efficacy were significantly related to academic stress. Job demands had a positive relationship, while self-efficacy had a negative relationship with the level of academic stress among students. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.869, indicating that 86.9% of the variation in academic stress could be explained by the relationship between these two variables and academic stress. The regression model met all classical assumption tests, thus was considered valid. These findings highlight the importance of managing job demands and strengthening self-efficacy in reducing academic stress among working students.Highlight : Job demands positively correlate with academic stress — higher workload leads to higher stress levels. Self-efficacy acts as a protective factor — students with stronger belief in their abilities report lower stress. Regression model explains 86.9% of stress variation — indicating strong predictive value from both variables. No full text
General Background: With the rapid evolution of technology and increasing reliance on the internet, mobile commerce (M-Commerce) has become a dominant channel for consumer transactions. Specific Background: Within this context, the quality of electronic services (E-Service Quality) and associated factors such as E-Trust, Complaint Handling, and Relationship Quality have become critical to fostering consumer loyalty. Knowledge Gap: However, limited research has examined the simultaneous effects of these factors alongside Consumers’ Negative Emotions and Forgiveness on Repurchase Intention in M-Commerce. Aims: This study aims to investigate the influence of E-Service Quality, E-Trust, Complaint Handling, Relationship Quality, Negative Emotions, and Forgiveness on Repurchase Intention among M-Commerce users. Results: Using a quantitative survey of 384 respondents in West Sumatra, Indonesia, and analysis tools including SmartPLS and SPSS 26, the findings reveal that E-Service Quality significantly enhances E-Trust and Repurchase Intention. E-Trust itself is a pivotal predictor of repurchase behavior. Negative emotions harm Relationship Quality and subsequently repurchase intentions, although strong relationship quality can mitigate these effects. Novelty: This study integrates emotional and relational variables in a unified M-Commerce model. Implications: The results underscore the importance of maintaining high service quality, trust, and complaint management strategies to retain customers and counteract emotional disruptions. Highlights: Highlights the role of E-Trust in driving repurchase behavior. Integrates emotional and relational factors into M-Commerce research. Emphasizes complaint handling as a trust-building strategy. Keywords: E-Service Quality, E-Trust, Complaint Handling, Repurchase Intention, M-Commerc
