    General background: Women’s empowerment through Islamic education is essential for strengthening the capacities of female students in formal schooling environments. Specific background: Despite expanded educational access, female students still face barriers such as gender bias, limited participation, and challenges related to digital literacy. Knowledge gap: Previous studies have mainly focused on adult women’s organizations or female Islamic boarding schools, leaving limited research on student-based Islamic organizations as agents of empowerment. Aims: This study analyzes the role of the Muhammadiyah Students Association in empowering female students through Islamic education at SMA Muhammadiyah 02 Medan. Results: The findings show that the organization implements strategic programs including Islamic study sessions for female students, discussion forums, skills workshops, and collaborative religious studies that enhance spiritual, intellectual, social, and leadership capacities. The organization also serves as a platform for gender equality and Islamic character building, although challenges persist such as low active participation, limited resources, and digital vulnerabilities. Novelty: This study offers a new perspective by examining a high school student organization that integrates religious values, leadership development, and digital literacy into its empowerment activities. Implications: The results highlight the strategic role of student organizations in shaping empowered, knowledgeable, and adaptable young Muslim women.     Interleukins and Some Physiological Parameters in Patients with Autoimmune Thyroid Disorders

    General Background: Autoimmune thyroid diseases (ATDs), such as Graves’ disease and chronic autoimmune thyroiditis, are among the most prevalent endocrine disorders characterized by immune-mediated thyroid dysfunction. Specific Background: Cytokines and immune markers play pivotal roles in the pathogenesis of ATDs, yet their association with hematological indices and ovarian reserve markers, such as Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH), remains underexplored. Knowledge Gap: Despite the known role of interleukins in autoimmune conditions, limited data exist linking IL-10, IL-17, and IL-18 levels with hematological and reproductive parameters in ATD patients. Aims: This study aimed to assess immunological (IL-10, IL-17, IL-18, AMH) and hematological (Hb, WBC, PLT) parameters in ATD patients compared to healthy individuals. Results: Findings revealed significantly higher serum IL-10, IL-17, and IL-18 levels in ATD patients, while AMH and hemoglobin were markedly reduced. White blood cell and platelet counts were significantly elevated, suggesting immune-driven hematopoietic alterations. Novelty: This study provides integrated evidence linking cytokine dysregulation with hematological and ovarian reserve disturbances in ATD, highlighting potential biomarkers for disease activity. Implications: The results underscore the need for cytokine profiling in ATD management and suggest that IL-10 and IL-18 may serve as predictive indicators for immune and reproductive dysfunction in affected individuals.Highlight : The study found significant increases in IL-10, IL-17, and IL-18 levels among patients with autoimmune thyroid disorders.     General Background: Halal tourism represents a growing segment in the global tourism industry, integrating Islamic principles with sustainable practices aligned to social, economic, and environmental dimensions. Specific Background: In Indonesia, particularly in Sidoarjo Regency, the halal tourism sector is emerging as a strategic driver of local competitiveness and community empowerment; however, its operational sustainability framework remains underdeveloped. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies rarely integrate sustainability principles with supply chain performance models to evaluate halal tourism competitiveness. Aims: This study aims to integrate the concept of sustainability with the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model to assess and strengthen sustainable halal tourism competitiveness in Sidoarjo. Results: Using a descriptive–quantitative approach with 26 respondents, findings reveal high sustainability scores across all pillars—social (4.15), economic (4.20), and environmental (4.13)—with a total sustainability index of 4.16. The economic pillar is most dominant due to strong regulatory support and inter-sectoral collaboration. Novelty: The study introduces a hybrid SCOR–Sustainability framework that operationalizes the halal value chain through the five SCOR processes (Plan–Source–Make–Deliver–Return). Implications: The integration model provides an effective tool for policymakers and tourism stakeholders to harmonize operational efficiency, social responsibility, and environmental stewardship in sustainable halal tourism development.     Parental Guidance and Digital Media Shaping Early Childhood Digital Literacy

    General Background: The rapid advancement of digital technology has transformed how young children learn and interact with information, emphasizing the need to develop digital literacy from an early age. Specific Background: In Indonesia, where internet access among children continues to grow, parental guidance and appropriate digital media use play crucial roles in shaping responsible and skillful digital engagement. Knowledge Gap: However, prior studies have predominantly examined these factors separately, lacking insight into their combined influence on early childhood digital literacy. Aims: This study aims to analyze the relationship between parental guidance and digital media use—individually and jointly—on the digital literacy skills of children aged 4–6 years. Results: Using a quantitative correlational design with 32 parent-child pairs, results revealed significant positive correlations between parental guidance (r = 0.704), digital media use (r = 0.755), and their combined effect (R = 0.757; p < 0.001) on children’s digital literacy. Novelty: The study contributes novel evidence on the synergistic impact of parental involvement and media utilization, integrating both factors within a single analytical model. Implications: These findings highlight that balanced parental supervision and constructive media engagement foster optimal digital literacy development in early childhood, supporting safer and more educational technology use.     Antioxidants and Their Relationship with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: a Review Study

    General Background: Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a prevalent endocrine disorder among women of reproductive age, characterized by hormonal and metabolic imbalances that impair fertility and overall health. Specific Background: Recent studies have emphasized the crucial role of oxidative stress in PCOS pathogenesis, where excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) and reduced antioxidant capacity lead to cellular and molecular damage. Knowledge Gap: Despite extensive research on PCOS, the mechanistic link between oxidative imbalance and PCOS progression, particularly the interplay between endogenous and exogenous antioxidants, remains insufficiently understood. Aims: This review aims to elucidate the relationship between oxidative stress and antioxidant systems in PCOS and to identify potential therapeutic roles of antioxidants in mitigating PCOS symptoms. Results: The synthesis of current findings demonstrates that antioxidant deficiency correlates with increased insulin resistance, ovulatory dysfunction, and chronic inflammation in PCOS patients. Supplementation with vitamins C and E, selenium, and metformin enhances oxidative balance, improves ovarian function, and reduces metabolic risks. Novelty: This study integrates biochemical, metabolic, and therapeutic perspectives on antioxidant-mediated modulation of PCOS.     General background: Indonesia recognizes customary law communities and their communal land rights as part of the national legal system, yet implementation often clashes with development agendas. Specific background: The indigenous Malay community of Rempang, settled since 1834, faces land acquisition for the Rempang Eco-City National Strategic Project, raising legal and socio-cultural disputes over displacement. Knowledge gap: Although constitutional and statutory frameworks acknowledge customary land rights, practical enforcement and administrative recognition remain weak, particularly when confronted with national development priorities. Aims: This study analyzes the legal status of the Rempang Malay community as a customary law community and evaluates the protection of their ulayat land rights in the context of land acquisition for national development. Results: Findings show that the Rempang Malay community fulfills all substantive legal elements of a customary law society, but lacks full administrative recognition, resulting in weak legal standing during land acquisition processes. The project also demonstrates insufficient meaningful participation and inadequate compensation mechanisms for cultural and spiritual losses. Novelty: This research highlights the discrepancy between de facto recognition of indigenous rights and de jure administrative acknowledgment in large-scale development cases. Implications: Strengthening formal recognition, ensuring free, prior, and informed consent, and adjusting compensation schemes are crucial to achieving development aligned with social justice and legal sustainability.     Design and optimization of PID controller for Arduino Uno-based DC motor with encoder feedback and signal conditioning using LM324 op-amp. The method used is Ziegler–Nichols (ZN) to obtain the initial parameters Kp, Ki, and Kd from the measurement of ultimate gain (Ku) and oscillation period (Pu). The plant model uses a digital implementation of a DC motor including anti-windup, first-order filtered derivatives, and PWM voltage limiting. The test data in the form of step response, disturbance rejection, and sensitivity to noise are analyzed using rise time, overshoot, settling time, IAE, and ISE indicators. The analysis results of Ku≈11.3 and Pu≈0.3 s produce Kp≈6.80, Ki≈45.31, Kd≈0.25, with fast response and acceptable overshoot; fine-tuning reduces oscillation and accelerates steady-state time. The conclusion is that the LM324 encoder improves feedback accuracy, while ZN is effective as a starting point for tuning for stable and robust performance. Highlights: Accurate tuning using Ziegler–Nichols method provides effective initial PID parameters. LM324 signal conditioning enhances encoder feedback precision.     Development of Sasak Folktale-Based Animated Audiovisuals to Improve Storytelling and Literacy Skills in Early Childhood

    Early childhood literacy and storytelling skills are critical foundations for later academic achievement, yet many learning environments remain constrained by monotonous instructional practices and limited culturally responsive media. This study addresses this gap by examining the impact of animated folklore as an innovative learning medium for early childhood education. The aim of the research is to evaluate the effectiveness of folklore-based animated audiovisuals in improving literacy and storytelling skills among young children. The study employs a research and development approach using the ADDIE framework, involving expert validation and field implementation. Empirical data were collected from 65 kindergarten children aged 5–6 years across small-scale and large-scale trials, using observation instruments, questionnaires, and pretest–posttest assessments. Quantitative analysis included descriptive statistics, N-Gain scores, and paired-sample t-tests. The results demonstrate substantial improvements in both literacy and storytelling outcomes after exposure to the animated folklore intervention, with medium-to-high learning gains and statistically significant differences between pretest and posttest scores. The media achieved high validity and practicality ratings from experts, teachers, and learners, indicating strong instructional quality and classroom feasibility. The novelty of this study lies in its integration of culturally grounded animated folklore as a systematic pedagogical tool that simultaneously strengthens narrative competence and early literacy skills. The findings contribute to early childhood education theory by reinforcing the role of culturally responsive digital media in language development, while offering practical implications for educators and policymakers seeking scalable, engaging strategies to enhance foundational literacy and storytelling in early learning contexts.     Corporate Governance Failures Leading to Bankruptcy in State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Subsidiaries

    General Background: Good Corporate Governance (GCG) is essential for ensuring corporate integrity and preventing financial distress, particularly within State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs). Specific Background: Recent bankruptcy cases involving SOE subsidiaries reveal persistent weaknesses in transparency, accountability, and supervisory mechanisms, as exemplified by the collapse of PT Indofarma Global Medika (IGM). Knowledge Gap: Existing studies often assess fraud or GCG violations in isolation, lacking analysis that connects governance failures to legal and financial consequences within SOE parent–subsidiary structures. Aims: This study examines how suboptimal GCG implementation contributes to bankruptcy risks in SOE subsidiaries and evaluates the legal and managerial implications for parent entities. Results: Findings show that repeated fraud, inadequate risk management, and ineffective oversight created structural vulnerabilities that escalated into insolvency during the Suspension of Debt Payment Obligations process. Novelty: The research establishes a direct causal link between GCG failure and subsidiary bankruptcy within the specific legal framework governing SOEs, highlighting accountability gaps in parent–subsidiary governance. Implications: Strengthening GCG enforcement is critical to safeguard state assets, enhance supervisory effectiveness, and prevent future insolvencies in SOE corporate groups.
