    Reduction of Real Power Loss by using Comprehensive Neighbourhood Algorithm

    In this paper, a new Comprehensive Neighbourhood Algorithm (CNA) is proposed to solve optimal reactive power dispatch problem. This algorithm is predominantly based on equilibrium between both the global and local search. A set of arbitrary solutions are primarily generated from the global search space, and then the best solution will give the optimal value. After that, the algorithm will iterate, and each iteration there will be two sets of generated solutions, one from the global search space and the other set of solutions will be produced from the neighbourhood of the best solution. The proposed Comprehensive Neighbourhood Algorithm (CNA) has been tested on standard IEEE 30, IEEE 57 bus test systems and simulation results show clearly thebetter performance of the proposed algorithm in reducing the real power loss

    Intelligent Drip Irrigation System Using Linear Programming and Interpolation Methodology

    In this paper, the Design of Intelligent Drip Irrigation system for the Automation of Drip irrigation is presented. Generally the Drip irrigation was named in Israel in 1959. Drip Irrigation is today’s need because water is nature’s gift to the mankind and it is not unlimited and free forever. World’s water resources are fastly vanishing. The one and only one solution to this problem is Intelligent Drip Irrigation system. In the conventional drip irrigation system, the farmer has to keep watch on irrigation timetable, which is different for different crops. In Intelligent Drip Irrigation using Linear Programming irrigation will take place only when there will be intense requirement of water. Irrigation system uses valves to turn irrigation ON and OFF. These valves may be easily automated by using controllers and solenoids. The developed irrigation method removes the need for workmanship for flooding irrigation as well as drip irrigation along with that it allows the farmer to apply the right amount of water at the right time, regardless of the availability of the labour to turn valves or motor ON & OFF. In this presented Intelligent Irrigation system I have used linear programming concept and Interpolation Method. Linear Programming helps us to distribute available water to the number of crops in order to get maximum profit with minimum cost. Also linear Programming helps us to do proper management of available water. Interpolation Method is used to map the physical parameters readings in the farm where taking manual readings is not possible. Finally both the methodology helps us to increase productivity of the crops and ultimately profit.

    The Dynamics of Implementing Software Engineering Projects

    The study set out to establish whether project dynamics is perceived as a factor that affects the implementation of software engineering projects in Nairobi, Kenya and used the findings to model the dynamics of the implementation process. According to literature, the software industry in Kenya is relatively young and therefore necessary to look into other more established industries to identify key factors and challenges. Kenya\u27s software projects experience a myriad of dynamism during implementation; the budgets are volatile, human resources required for project implementation come on board with many differing skills that add to the complexity of executing and implementing the projects, and there are also many internal and external variables to the implementation process that keep on changing. Since many projects suffer from the 90% syndrome in which a project is thought to be 90% complete for half of the total time required, software projects are not excluded. Tasks which are completed as part of a software project may be flawed and may need rework. For software projects, implementation is double phased and there are numerous changing variables in both phases that contribute to the dynamics of implementing software projects. The study used the Kenya ICT sector as a case study and utilized the findings to model the dynamics of implementing software projects. The model depicted that there is a lot of dynamism in implementing software projects. The dynamism revolves around the changing project variables that influence the success or failure of the said projects. The study recommends that modeling the dynamics of implementing any software project is critical to enable detection of any hindrances to successful implementation and avoid wastage of resources. The models can aid in detecting the effects of any unforeseen uncertainties within the implementation process early enough so that appropriate action can be taken to mitigate any uncertainties.

    Implementation of TCP Congestion Control mechanism for Wireless Networks using TCP Reserved Field and Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR)

    TCP is the most popular and widely used network transmission protocol. All most 90% of the Internet connections make use of TCP for communication. TCP is reliable for wired networks and it considers all packet timeouts in wired networks as due to network congestion and not because of bit errors. However, TCP suffers from performance degradation over error-prone wireless links, as it has no technique to distinguish error deficits from congestion deficits, with networking becoming more divergent, with wired and wireless topologies. It considers all packet deficits are due to congestion and subsequently reduces the packet burst transmission, at the same time decreasing the network throughput. In this paper a new TCP congestion control mechanism is proposed that is suitable and applicable for wireless and also for wired networks and is capable of distinguishing congestion deficits from error deficits. The proposed technique uses the reserved field of the TCP header to indicate whether the connection established is over a wired or a wireless link. Further, the proposed technique influences the usage of Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) to discover the reliability of the link and determine whether to decrease the packet burst or retransmit the timed-out packet. Investigations performed, revealed that the proposed mechanism confirmed to function amend in circumstances where timeouts were due to error and not due to congestion. Further, the future work can be enhanced upon the proposed mechanism so that it can leverage Cyclic Redundancy Check(CRC) and Header Error Check(HEC) errors so that it can be properly determined the reason for initializing transmission timeouts in wireless networks.

    Demonstration of Software for Optimizing Machine Critical Programs by Call Graph Generator

    While working with software that are complex, representation in visual forms improves the understanding and also enhances the programmers ability to analyze the relationships between the components of a code. Placing all tools together which performs cyclomatic complexity on mission critical codes to optimize the solution is thr real motto of this work. These include generation of call graphs, which are visually represented with different metrics and to assist in software coding to the programmers. The different metrics include total number of lines in the function, total number of executable lines, and number of unreachable lines. This tool accepts only C program and generates a function call graph along with function metrics providing both static and dynamic view. This software helps the developer to take decision on optimality of the program and to know the program flow, thus optimizing the program. This paper depicts the working of call graph Generator to assess the reachability and exactness of the programs.  

    Minimization of Active Power Loss and Voltage Profile Fortification by Using Differential Evolution – Harmony Search Algorithm

    This paper presents DEHS (Differential Evolution-harmony Search) algorithm for solving the multi-objective reactive power dispatch problem .Harmony Search is a new heuristic algorithm, which mimics the procedure of a music player to search for an ideal state of harmony in music playing. Harmony Search can autonomously mull over each component variable in a vector while it generates a new vector. These features augment the flexibility of the Harmony Search algorithm and produce better solutions and overcome the disadvantage of Differential Evolution. Improved Differential Evolution method based on the Harmony Search Scheme, which we named it DEHS (Differential Evolution-harmony Search). The DEHS method has two behaviors. On the one hand, DEHS has the flexibility. It can adjust the values lightly in order to get a better global value for optimization. On the other hand,   DEHS can greatly boost the population’s diversity. It not only uses the DE’s strategies to search for global optimal results, but also utilize HS’s tricks that generate a new vector by selecting the components of different vectors randomly in the harmony memory and its outside. In order to evaluate the proposed algorithm, it has been tested on IEEE 30 bus system and compared to other algorithms.

    The Silo Effect of Information Technology on the Organizational Productivity: A Qualitative Research Study

    In the field of technology, research shows that information technology (IT) is needed to improve the quality of workplace in any industry. Thus, the advent of Internet has made it easy to communicate with others and get the work done with less effort from where you are and at any time. Considering this fact, IT gained ground in all areas of life and developing nations in various sectors. However, IT creates silos among workers and employers. This study attempts to answer the following research question: how can a silo be a bad or good thing on any organizational productivity based on the researcher’s working experience shared stories? The aim of this research is to share how IT can build silos and affect on the organizational productivity. To examine the research problem, the researcher narrates the stories of his working experience in a hospital in Pennsylvania in the United States of America (U.S.). The results indicate that the IT is a very good tool to facilitate communication and solves problems, but the misuse of IT systems may lead to construction of a huge silo system among the leadership and employees within the same business.

    Improve Of Health Care Systems in Subareas of Saudi Arabia by GIS

    This paper shows how Geographical Information Systems (GIS) can be used to support health planners and demands on a micro-scale and explores the possibilities of using GIS for health care services in hospitals at Saudi Arabia subareas. GIS has several useful functions and tools that can be used in health planning field. The first part of this paper explains the issues that affect a local health care planning and monitoring of catchment area and facilities management. Each one of these issues is covered using several GIS functions including network analysis and spatial data analysis. The second part defines GIS and its possible application in the health care field. In this section, the relevant GIS functions have also been explained. The third part of this paper discusses the created and implemented a GIS application models, which is made for a local health care centre in Makkahh region and Taif city in Saudi Arabia. All the produced models can be applied on any private or public hospital in Makkahh region  and Taif city. They can be used to build a spatial decision making support system for hospitals in Taif region and serves five local health services neighborhoods named as Turabah, Al-Khurma, Rania, Zulam and Al-Moya. In this paper; the former is used to produce drive-time hospital service area and the route is applied at the selected hospital to calculate the size of its served demand. Finally; in this work, three sets of GIS models have been produced. These are catchment area; patient profile and patient distribution; and patient flows models. So, the output of creating and implementing a GIS models are produced to help a local health planners in their health care decision making output.

    Voltage Profile Index Enrichment and Dwindling of Real Power Loss by using Acclimatized Imperialist Competitive Algorithm

    In this paper, Acclimatized Imperialist Competitive Algorithm (AICA) is proposed for solving reactive power dispatch problem. The Imperialist Competitive Algorithm (ICA) was recently introduced has shown its good performance in optimization problems. This novel optimization algorithm is enthused by socio-political progression of imperialistic competition in the real world .The ICA is straightforwardly stuck into a local optimum when solving numerical optimization problems. In the proposed algorithm, for an effective search, the amalgamation Policy changed dynamically to adapt the angle of colonies movement towards imperialist’s position. To overcome this inadequacy we use probabilistic model that make use of the information of colonies positions to balance the exploration and exploitation aptitude of the imperialistic competitive algorithm. Using this mechanism, ICA exploration capability will augmented. The proposed (AICA) algorithm has been tested on standard IEEE 57 bus test system and simulation results shows clearly about the good performance of the proposed algorithm in reducing the real power loss

Most indexing techniques directly matched terms from the document and terms from query. But there is a problem when matching. That is most system doesn’t consider the meaning of the words. A word can have more than one meaning. But most systems didn’t consider the context (multiple meaning of a word). This paper presents how to construct an index structure using SSTC and context ontology that provides multiple meanings of a word.
