Proxy Promised Signcrypion Scheme Based on Elliptic Curve Crypto System
With the rapid growth in internet technology anonymity, repudiation and smacking the contents of messages are required for illegal businesses such as money laundering etc. In this paper we design and analyze a proxy promised signcrypion scheme based on elliptic curve cryptosystem. In this system the sender/original signer can give the authority of signcrypion to another entity namely proxy signcrypter and he generates promised signcryptext on the place of sender. The scheme is accomplished aim to improve the previous crypto-systems, due to the elliptic curve small system parameter, small public key certificates, faster implementation, low power consumption and small hardware processor requirements. This ECC based scheme provides high security and efficiency
A Secure Application for Information Sharing in Organizations: A Case Study of Kabale District Local Government
Information shared is exposed to threats of confidentiality, integrity and availability needed for decision making in organizations. A case study was carried out at Kabale District local Government where interviews and questionnaires were administered to purposively selected elements of the study. The findings revealed that the information shared within the organization is exposed to potential threats that can put the organization’s information at a risk of being accessed by unauthorized users. The following factors for securing information were identified and used in the development of a secure application for information sharing in organizations. These factors include; denying unauthorized staff and other individuals from gaining access to personal data, passwords to be treated as private to the individual, secure disposal of information, paper files to store in secure locations and only accessed by those who need to use them. In this application, the information is encoded using crypto-graphical methods that cannot be easily intercepted, such that only the intended recipient is able to receive it in its original format for decoding. This makes information shared secure. The application was tested and validated by a range of stakeholders and it was found secure. For the future work, a survey will be carried out in a range of organizations in order to develop an improved application for information sharing
Digital Envelope System Based on Optimized NTRU (Number Theory Research Unit) and RC6 Algorithm
With the rapid development of technologies, more data are generated and transmitted in the medical, commercial, and military fields, which may include some sensitive information. So, security is essential to transfer the important information securely over the communication channels. To fulfill the information security requirements, many security systems were proposed in many research areas. On the other hand, many cryptographic algorithms are analyzed and optimized to evaluate better performance according to their requirements. This work proposes digital envelope system in order to meet the security requirement such as confidentiality. To create digital envelope system, the original message is encrypted by using Rivest Cipher-6(RC6) with the help of secret key. Then, that secret key is encrypted by using the ONTRU (Optimized Number Theory Research Unit) with the help of Receiver’s public key. Moreover, this work also focuses on the optimization of NTRU to obtain better execution time for the digital envelope system. According to the analytical results, it is found that ONTRU is faster than NTRU. The basic idea behind this paper is to provide a good, faster digital envelope system
The Role of Data Mining in Information Security
Security and Privacy protection have been a public policy concern for decades. However, rapid technological changes, the rapid growth of the internet and electronic commerce, and the development of more sophisticated methods of collecting, analyzing, and using personal information have made privacy a major public and government issues. The field of data mining is gaining significance recognition to the availability of large amounts of data, easily collected and stored via computer systems. Recently, the large amount of data, gathered from various channels, contains much personal information. When personal and sensitive data are published and/or analyzed, one important question to take into account is whether the analysis violates the privacy of individuals whose data is referred to. The importance of information that can be used to increase revenue cuts costs or both. Data mining software is one of a number of analytical tools for analyzing data. It allows users to analyze data privacy is growing constantly. For this reason, many research works have focused on privacy-preserving data mining, proposing novel techniques that allow extracting knowledge while trying to protect the privacy of users. Some of these approaches aim at individual privacy while others aim at corporate privacy [1].
Design of MIMO Antenna Array Architecture for Higher Channel Capacity
In many extensive researches, the channel capacity of narrowband multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication systems in indoor Line-of-Sight (LOS) environment is investigated and proved that the LOS signal can get the high channel capacity by designing the antenna arrays. On the other hand, MIMO systems offer significant capacity enhancements in non Line-of-Sight (LOS) environments where rich scattering is present. However, the wireless propagation mechanisms and antenna array orientation should be considered when designing the wireless network to get more precise results and improve the performance. This paper investigates the performance of MIMO system based on two ray ground reflection model. In this system, the LOS signal and the LOS signal with one ground reflected ray can provide the optimum MIMO capacity performance if specific designed antenna arrays are employed at both sides of the communications link. For achieving the optimal MIMO capacity in a LOS environment, the antenna array architecture is considered as a function of the distance between transmitter and receiver, the transmitted and received antennas’ height, the array orientation and the antenna spacing distance. The capacity sensitivity for a number of MIMO architectures with respect to the experimental data and simulation is investigated by using MATLAB programming language
An Improved Fuzzy-based Image Filtering for High Density Salt and Pepper Noise
The proposed system presents a fuzzy switching filter to remove high density salt and pepper noise in an image. This system combined the ability of modified median filter, the proposed fuzzy median filter and the proposed fuzzy mean filter. At first, target pixel in a (3x3) kernel is checked whether it is noise pixel (0 or 255) or not. If there isn’t noise, the noise checking process shifts to the next kernel. If there is noise pixel (0 or 255), the number of noise within a kernel is counted. If the noise count is less than or equal to four which is less noise density, the modified median filter is used to remove noise. If the noise count is greater than four and less than or equal to six, the proposed fuzzy median filter is applied. If the noise count is larger than six which is high noise density, the proposed fuzzy mean filter is used to remove noise. By switching these three filters depending on the noise count within a kernel, the propose system can remove high density salt and pepper noise without distorting the edge and fine details in an image. At the experimental results, the proposed system can give better performance in removing high noise density. Furthermore, the denoising performance of the proposed filters will also be presented by calculating the Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) values
Weight-based Word Sense Disambiguation Method for Myanmar-to-English Language Translation
In many natural language processing (NLP) techniques, machine translation is a popular and useful technique. Machine translation technique is a translation process from one to another language. This technique is thus very useful for people around the world. While translating the languages, ambiguity is a big challenge because many words have several meanings. Ambiguous words have damaging effects on the precision of machine translation. To solve this problem, word sense disambiguation (WSD) method is useful for automatically identifying the correct meaning of an ambiguous word. In order to have a better precision, weight-based WSD method is proposed by taking advantage of a Minkowski distance method. As the proposed method considers the weight values of each sense of training and input vectors while observing the ambiguous words, it is more effective than the simple translation system. Experimental results show that the weight-based WSD method gives a better precision approximately 51% when compared to the simple machine translation method
A Modified Quantization Based Image Compression Technique using Walsh-Hadamard Transform
A new quantization table using the nearest maximum common prime factor is generated for image compression using Walsh-Hadamard Transform (WHT). Image compression is important for many applications that involve huge data storage and transmission such as multimedia, video conferencing and medical imaging. In the proposed system, RGB components of color image are converted to YCbCr color image. Then an image is divided into 8x8 pixel block for each block. WHT based image compression is used to lossy image compression. The prime based new quantization table is created to reduce the quantization error (QE) bit in the quantization step. After the image is quantized, Huffman coding is a technique for representing the quantized coefficients as compactly as possible. The reverse process takes place for image decompression. The image compression system using WHT, standard quantization table, Huffman coding is also created. The performances are compared between original system and proposed system using performance parameters such as Compression ratio, Bit Per Pixel, Mean Square Error, Peak Signal to Noise Ratio and Time.
Development of Radio Wave Propagation Model in Indoor Non-Line-of-Sight (NLOS) Scenario
To improve the performance of an indoor WLAN, it is very important to estimate specific received signal strength based on experimental and predicting data. As the design of building layouts and constructed building materials modernize and are complex, it is difficult to estimate the received signal strength values according to those building structure. For this reason, this research develops a new radio wave propagation model for indoor Non-Line-of-Sight (NLOS) scenarios with the help of TP-LINK router .In order to develop the proposed model, the free space model is modified by considering the influence of corridor conditions on each floor based on ray tracing technique at a carrier frequency range of 2.4GHz. Using this model, indoor received signal strength values can be estimated according to the geometrical plan in modeling of indoor radio wave propagation. The performance comparison of channel capacity is implemented with various frequency ranges using MATLAB programming language. The recommendation results from experimental data and proposed model will help wireless network system designers in optimization overall cost effect
Evaluation Metrics for Computer Science Domain Specific Ontology in Semantic Web Based IRSCSD System
Performance and efficiency of web information retrieval is important for knowledge engineers, novice users and for organizations. In semantic web based system, the concept of ontology is used to search results by contextual meaning of input query instead of keyword matching. Ontology is an approximate specification of a domain whereas ontology evaluation is concerned with the degree or rather the distance between this approximate conceptualization and the real world. For this, ontology based information retrieval system for computer science domain is designed which this research calls as the IRSCSD system. This paper considers the evaluation of prototype ontology developed in computer science domain for IRSCSD system and has four- fold objectives. Firstly, paper highlights the high level design of IRSCSD system (Information retrieval system for computer science domain). Secondly, paper discusses the prototype ontology developed for computer science domain taking one of its core subjects. Thirdly, paper focuses on the need for evaluation of ontology and various approaches, metrics which can be used for evaluation of domain specific ontology in computer science. Lastly, implementation will be shown by considering those approaches on prototype ontology along with the data sets used for evaluation
