    Impact of SRL Strategies and Academic Achievements on Recruitment of Information System Graduates in Saudi Arabia

    Soft and hard skills have become a challenging issue for Information Systems (IS) graduates and recruiters in Saudi Arabia. IS students are lacking the skills that are required by Saudi industry. Recruiters, on the other hand, consider the academic achievement as a major factor for hiring IS candidates. This paper shows the most required soft and technical skills for IS students. Also, it discusses the impacts of self-regulated learning (SRL) strategies and academic achievements on matching the required skills by the Saudi industry. Therefore, it empirically identifies the most required skills of IS jobs in Saudi industry and how the skills of IS students in major Saudi universities can match them. In this research, two surveys were conducted, one for recruiters and another for students. The first survey is to assess the required IS skills in Saudi industry by recruiters. Whereas the second survey is to capture the skills, SRL, and academic achievement of IS students. Based on the statistical analysis, the study proved that academic achievement does not have impact on the students’ level of matching with local job requirements. Rather, acquisition of SRL has greater effect on the employability of IS students

    Algorithm for Line Follower Robots to Follow Critical Paths with Minimum Number of Sensors

    This paper introduces an approach which help a line follower robot to achieve the ability to autonomously follow a path that has straight lines, curve, 90 degree bends, T-junctions and + junctions using minimum sensors. Generally a line follower robot uses matrix of sensors to achieve this ability. This paper discuss about the algorithm through which a line follower can do the same thing using an array of sensor with minimum number of sensors. Because, if we able to decrease sensor number, we can decrease the complexity of the robot. Additionally, it also reduce the cost. But, here main challenge is ensuring efficiency. As we know, for a line follower robot, it is difficult to detect and follow T-junctions, 90 degree bends and grid junctions. To overcome this challenge, people add extra sensors to detect 90 degree bends, T-junctions and + junctions and design algorithm to follow them. If we reduce sensor, those robots will not able to detect these critical junctions and so, lose its efficiency. This paper discusses about line sensors configuration, their positions and also develop an algorithm so that a robot can follow a path with curve, 90 degree bends, T-junctions and + junctions using only four sensors

    A survey of Multi-Criteria Decision Making Technique used in Renewable Energy Planning

    Fossil based oil, gas and coal reserves will exhaust in few decades and the accelerated demand for conventional energy have forced planners and policy makers to look for alternate sources of Energy. Renewable energies option serves as a solutions for a sustainable, environmentally friendly and long-term cost effective sources of energies to meet our ever increasing needs of energy.  Renewable energy sites selection can be viewed as a Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) problem. MCDM is a complex Decision Making (DM) tools as it involves both quantitative and qualitative criteria. In recent years, several MCDM techniques and approaches have been suggested to solve energy planning problems. The main objective of this paper is to systematically review MCDM techniques and approaches in sustainable and renewable energy planning problems. A review of more than 100 published papers based on MCDM analysis is studied and presented in this paper. Findings of this review paper confirm that MCDM techniques can assist stakeholders and decision makers in unravelling some of the uncertainties inherent in renewable energy decision making. Classification of methodology used, criteria selection and application area are summarized and presented

    Cloud Computing (CC) is one of the most important and hottest deal of attention, both in academia researches and among users, due to its ability for satisfying the computing needs by reducing commercial expenditure bandwidth with computing compounds while increasing scalability and flexibility for computing services, accessing it through an Internet connection from anywhere in the world its available Internet network..However it becomes particularly serious because the data is located in different places even in the entire globe and should be taken into account such as violation of the confidentiality and privacy of customers’ data via unauthorized parties. So the only causes imperfection in the cloud computing is security impairment generally and especially data security. Despite about organizations and individual user adopting cloud computing, put their data in cloud due to the security issues challenges associated with it requires that organizations trust needs a technical tools protecting their data. Elliptical curve cryptography (ECC) is a public key encryption technique based on elliptic curve theory that can be used to create faster, smaller, and more efficient cryptographic keys. Hence, we proposed data security in cloud computing with elliptic curve cryptography a proficient data security model algorithm, as a secure tool to model a Secured platform for Data in cloud computing. The algorithm was simulated using Java Development Kit (JDK) to implement the curve operations to extract the data in the Cloud, encrypting, decrypting, signing and verifications the signature, followed by testing the acquired results the implemented classes and their design Although this topic represent a good sample of the work that is being done, there are many requirements to study this area due to the needs of cloud computing in the next generation both individuals and organization even governmental agencies Might parallel increase of cyber attackers and they improve their techniques so as a researcher suggest the importance of data in ECC to be studied

    Analysis of Saudi Arabian Social Network Using Analytic Measures and Community Detection

    Recently, Social Network Analysis has received an enormous popularity in the field of social and computer sciences. The majority of the studied problems have concentrated on research of information diffusion and social influence. The aim of this research is to analyze the Saudi Arabian social network to measure its capability for information diffusion. We are targeting Saudi Arabian social network because of its importance within Arab region. It is considered the most dominant and influence among the others. Social Network Analysis measures (degree, closeness, betweenness, and eigenvector). Community detection, on the other hand, has guaranteed its ability in identifying corresponding community depends on social properties, network structure, or influencers interests. In this article, Griven-Newman community detection algorithm has been adopted to identify the corresponding community. It has been tested and visualized using NodeXL tool. Experiment was applied on Twitter users. The communities resulted and analysis measures\u27 results showed the suitability of the Saudi Arabian network for information diffusion.

    Exploring Key Determinants of Job Efficiency Associated With Adoption of Private Cloud Services

    When adopting private cloud services, companies must consider several factors including the popularity of information technology equipment, allocation of network resources, adoption of cloud platforms, and employees’ perceived effectiveness of the technology. For enhancing job satisfaction and efficiency, this study explored the key determinants of the adoption of private cloud services based on favorable technology and resources, self-efficacy, and technology acceptance. We constructed a research model for conducting empirical analyses to test the related hypotheses.The results revealed that the key factors, namely resource-facilitating conditions, technology-facilitating conditions, and Internet self-efficacy had a significant effect on work efficiency. Moreover, web-specific control and perceived self-control had negligible effects on work efficiency. Herein, we provide implications for academicians and practitioners for future adoption, in addition to providing several suggestions for improvement

    Multi-agents Modeling and Simulation of the Spread of Tuberculosis in the City of Ngaoundéré (Cameroon)

    In this paper, a model based on Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) of the spread of tuberculosis in the city of Ngaoundéré is proposed. After studying the behavior of the population and treatment using the software "OpenJUMP" of the satellite image of the city of Ngaoundéré, a multi-agent modeling of the population including individual activities, contraction and evolution of tuberculosis is made. This modeling followed the Gaia approach and used the modeling language AUML. The satellite image was processed in the integrated simulation platform GAMA and simulations were made. The simulation results show that in the absence of treatment, the rate of spread of tuberculosis in the city of Ngaoundéré, denoted T0 strongly depends on the behavior of individuals, the quantity of Koch Bacillus (BK) released by a sick individual, the life of a BK in the air. The analysis of T0 shows that there is a threshold beyond which the disease is endemic and below which it disappears.

    Comparability of Computer-Based Testing and Paper-Based Testing: Testing Mode Effect, Testing Mode Order, Computer Attitudes and Testing Mode preference

    With promulgation of computer technology in educational testing, computerized testing (henceforth CBT) as green computing strategy is gaining popularity due to its advantages such as effective administration, flexible scheduling and immediate feedback over its conventional paper-based testing (henceforth PBT). Since some testing programs have begun to offer both versions of a test simultaneously, the effectiveness of CBT is queried by some scholars. Regarding to this aim, this study investigated the score equivalency of a test taken by 228 Iranian undergraduate students studying at a state university located in Chabahar region of Iran to see whether scores of two administrations of testing mode were equivalent. Then, two versions of the test were administered to the participants of two testing groups on four testing occasions in a counter balanced administration sequence with four weeks interval. One-Way ANOVA and Pearson Correlation tests were used to compare the mean scores and to find the relationship of testing order, computer attitudes and testing mode preference with testing performance. Findings of the study revealed that the scores of test takers were not different in both modes and the moderator variables were not considered external factors that might affect students’ performance on CBT.
