Scalable Pattern Architecture for Mobile Portal
Web portal services have been adopted by large number of sectors (including education sector) in carrying out their daily transactions. However, as a result of inadequate web portal infrastructures to cater for the large number of population using this web portal, the need for mobile portal cannot be completely abandoned. Since a large number of every population (including students of higher institutions of learning) has a mobile phone with portal capabilities, this technology (mobile portal) is therefore a panacea to solving web portal problems. Today a large number of the students access the web portal using their mobile phones. However, because the portal was not built mainly for mobile phones, viewing and carrying out the complete services of the portal is a serious challenge to mobile phone users mainly in the aspect of data and forms transparency and integrity. Hence the need for building and using mobile portal cannot be under estimated. Mobile computing has improved the way of carrying out business transactions. It has simplified the task of many organizations in reaching their customers easily. It is a safe technology that can be deployed and use anywhere and at anytime. It is a technology that can be referred to as portable technology. However, many people refused to adopt this technology because of a big question about its scalability. Hence this paper has designed, demonstrates and presents scalable pattern architecture for building mobile portal using higher institution services as a reference point. The pattern architecture presented will help to achieve scalability of mobile portal when fully implemented, thereby solving the problem faced by many developers in engineering mobile portals
Classification of Satellite Images Based on Color Features Using Remote Sensing
The aim of this paper is to classify satellite imagery using moment\u27s features extraction with K-Means clustering algorithm in remote sensing. Clustering is the assignment of objects into groups called clusters so that objects from the same cluster are more similar to each other than objects from different clusters. In this research, the study area chosen is to cover the area of Baghdad city in Iraq taken by landsat 8. The proposed work consists of two phases: training and classification. The training phase aims to extract the moment features (mean, standard deviation, and skewness) for each block of the satellite imagery and store as dataset used in classification phase to compute the similarity measurement. The experimental result of classification showed that the image contains five distinct classes (rivers, agriculture area, buildings with vegetation, buildings without vegetation, and bare lands). The classification result assessment was carried out by comparing the result with a reference classified image achieved by Iraqi Geological Surveying Corporation (GSC). It is observed that both the user accuracy and producers\u27 accuracy and hence overall classification accuracy are enhanced with percent 92.12447%
Development of Software Tool for Scheduling Risk Analysis
There is a need in software industry for a tool to integrate scheduling risk. This tool will answer a multitude of problems in achieving a higher degree of scheduling accuracy. Successful project requires effective specialized tool for reducing risk. The objective of this study is to develop a project scheduling tool for the estimation of project risk. This study provides empirical evidence that scheduling tool are very much relevant, valid, and applicable in software industry. The output of this study is a tool which employs some of the main distribution methods such as Uniform, Beta, Triangular and Gaussian in order to decrease the risk of project delays. This tool was tested and the results were extracted, analyzed and discussed. The tool was developed using JAVA. It can be recommended that using a different type of probability distributions on project’s activities will give the project schedule more accurate estimations by using the developed tool early in the project development lifecycle
Current Status of E-Health in Senegal and Perspectives for Development
Improving healthcare delivery is a matter of emergency currently in Senegal. In fact populations do not have access to healthcare as much as they should….With emerging tools for effective healthcare delivery such as the internet of things, telemedicine innovations and e-learning tools, relying on e-health is becoming a necessity to achieve the goals of the Universal Health Coverage (CMU in Senegal). However there is a lack of financial resources and consensus in data standards due to communication issues between healthcare leaders. As such, they usually waste funds received from NGOs (Non Governmental Organisations) on developing a health software product already developed by a different fellow member on non operable health systems under outdated materials….there are many scenarios showing a deep lack of organisation sometimes caused by NGOs themselves motivated by competition, merely jostling for attention, instead of finding solutions to help needy recipients. This paper looks at the status of e-Health in Senegal exploring the efforts the government has put in place in order to digitalise healthcare in Senegal. It also explores e-health systems developed by professionals and perspectives for development. The study is carried through an examination of scientific journals, research papers and exchanges with health professionals through occasional seminars at the Ministry of Health and Social Action (MOHSA). The study seems to reveal that the potential for e-Health growth in Senegal is enormous although it is just at its early stages of development. This is due to the combination of a rapid growth in internet and mobile phone use in Senegal with the introduction of a regulatory unit for the implementation of an strategic e-Health system in Senegal (the Unit of the Sanitary and Social Map, of Digital Health and of the Observatory of Health) known as CSSDOS at the Ministry of Health and Social Action (MOHSA)
A Study on Text Based Steganography Using Email Platform and Color Mapping
Steganography is the art of hiding of a message within another so that presence of hidden message is indistinguishable. The key concept behind steganography is that message to be transmitted is not detectable to the casual eye. This is also the advantage of steganography over cryptography. Modern digital steganography uses text, images, audio, video etc. as a cover medium. This paper presents a mechanism of storing the secret message using forward email platform and color mapping table. Various experiments have been conducted and the results are analyzed in this paper
Developing a Java-based Genetic Algorithm to Solve the Travelling Salesman Problem

System Simulation of a Bayesian Network-Based Performance Prediction Model for Data Communication Networks
In this paper, a paradigm of a Bayesian Network–based performance prediction model for computer networks security risk management was emulated. Model simulation was carried out for the prediction model formulated. Java programming language tools were used to simulate, validate and verify the model. The core of simulation program was written in Java programming language. Some jar files were created in the code logic for all the modules in the prediction model. MS-DOS or command prompt was used to compile and run java and jar files. Batch scripts i.e. .bat files were written to compile the jar files. The output of the execution is shown using Java API files. Simulation technology was used in this study to evaluate network performance since it is very costly to deploy a complete test bed containing multiple networked computers, routers and data links to validate and verify the prediction model. The resulting risk impact on network confidentiality, Integrity and availability determine the criticality of the overall network performance which will aid in the effective application of countermeasures to mitigate the effect of network security risks
A Study on the Conceptual Frame Work of Dataware Housing in Health Sector in Pakistan A Case Study of a Hospital System and Disease (Hepatitis C)
The decisions of people about medical treatments have a great impact on their lives. Health related sectors and patients often make decisions without complete understanding of the medical circumstances. The main cause is that health related data are available in fragmented, disparate and heterogeneous data silos. Without a centralized data warehouse structure to integrate these data silos, it is highly unlikely and impractical for the users (of concerned departments) to get all the information required on time to make a correct decision. In this research study, a case study has been discussed hospital system and a disease (Hepatitis C only ) through literature review, it was found that in government hospital the data recorded analyzed in old fashioned, manually where as in private hospitals there is computerized Database to record the patients data, but failure is that there is no coordination between government and private hospitals to share the patients history and also no concept of Database overall in government hospitals in Pakistan. After all , in this research study, a conceptual frame work has been discussed and proposed model for implementation of Dataware house in health sector to centralized the data for analysis and decision making .Outcomes of this research are: one is ; documenting the comparisons of data warehousing architectures, logical and conceptual data warehousing models, other is proposing a data-warehousing model ( taking one disease Hepatitis C ) as model for implementation which is suitable for Government Health Sector as well as other concerned departments in Pakistan.ext fonts are prescribed; please do not alter them
Comparative Study of Disk Resident and Column Oriented Memory Resident Technique for Healthcare Big Data Management Using Retrieval Time
The rate at which information are being shared among people of diverse discipline, is continuously increasing the volume of data available for different forms of processing and storage. The channels for collecting data is increasing on daily basis; customers need to supply data to business owners; online social media keep on evolving; educational institutions are faced with keeping records of ever growing students’ enrollment and keeping their records after graduating is now a challenge; health institutions keep on experiencing unprecedented growth in child birth on daily basis and the need to keep and maintain adequate health records is a necessity. This resultant data flood has called for the need to explore new cost effective storage options and analysis techniques in other to benefit from the dividends of Big Data. Some of the approaches involve investing more on hardware storage devices, some involve exploring other locations’ facilities while some adopt improved software techniques. This paper is presenting some of the results obtained using software techniques.
